Doctor Faces Racism In Ireland, Says Children Mocked Him In "Broken Indian Accent"
According to the outlet, the incident occurred when Dr Salman was leaving Blackcastle Shopping Centre after 9 pm last Thursday. As he stepped into his car, a young boy cycled in front of him and allegedly shouted "Mr Curry Man".
"I said he was being very rude and as I reversed an older boy, a young teen, came up and asked me if I had said something so I told him that his friend had been rude," Dr Salman said. "The older boy told me to shut up and then started doing impersonations of Apu, the Indian shopkeeper in The Simpsons. I just left. I didn't say anything more as they were children," he continued.
Recalling his experience, Dr Salman said, "I was stunned and upset. I have seen racial abuse and throw away remarks first hand to me and my colleagues at the hospital but I would never expect this from children who are generally very accepting of other nationalities. There seems to be a horrible pack mentality and this incident was insidious."
According to The Irish Independent, Dr Salman was born in Ireland, and his parents were born in Pakistan. His father trained and practised as a surgeon and worked in Our Lady's Hospital in Navan before moving the family to work in the UK and Saudi Arabia.
"I lived in Navan and went to primary school here and have nothing but good memories of the town as a child. I never experienced any racism here. That's part of the reason I came back to live here with my wife and young daughter in 2017 and after I began working in the hospital in Drogheda," Dr Salman said.
However, he now believes that the locality has recently become too dangerous. "This wave of hatred to people of colour is quite recent and increasingly more open and brash. I've been back in Ireland for 15 years. In 2017, it was a peaceful and safe place and I could walk anywhere at any time without fear. Now it is too unsafe and I would only go to crowded places," the doctor said.
"There is no invasion in this country. This is everyone's home and everyone has to be respectful to everyone else. Racism is ugly and it shouldn't be accepted or tolerated," he added.

It appears to be the work of a gang involved in blackmail through such allegations,' Jaiman told the court. However, Anil Jaiman, Station House Officer (SHO) of Sanganer police station, provided details of the Jaipur case, stating that the complaint was lodged by a girl who was a minor at the time of the initial incident. According to the police, the girl met Yash Dayal during a cricket event and accused him of sexually assaulting her under the guise of offering help in pursuing a cricket career. The complainant further alleged that Dayal raped her a second time in a hotel in Sitapura, Jaipur, during the IPL 2025 season after calling her to his room. As the girl was 17 years old during the first incident, an FIR was filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. This is not the first time Yash Dayal has been in the spotlight for controversy. In the past, he was criticized for allegedly sharing communal content via his Instagram account. Dayal had clarified that while two objectionable stories were shared from his account, he did not personally upload them.

Nisarg, in the video, admitted that he felt horrible about what he did and what he was going to do. "I need to maybe get help or something," he said in the video, though the person confronting him was not convinced that Nisarg was genuinely repentant or whether he was just scared that he got caught. The group has now revealed the detailed chats, as Nisarg was not arrested at the scene, though two patrol vehicles from San Diego Police Department arrived at the scene. They told the activist that since the group that caught Nisarg was not law enforcement, Nisarg could not be arrested based on their claim but his phone would be checked and his engagement with an alleged minor would be investigated. In the chats, released by People v Preds, Nisarg and the activist posing as a 14-year-old exchanged messages on August 2. The activist asked Nisarg if he had engaged with someone of his age before. The conversation went on with the activist asking Nisarg for a photo of him before he caught him at the grocery store where Nisarg apparently came to buy lube to use it later on the 14-year-old he thought he was chatting with. After he was taken by the San Diego Police for interrogation, he denied all the allegations and he was let off as no charges were framed against him. The University of California also came under fire for not immediately suspending the professor. Nisarg studied BSc in chemical and biomolecular engineering from Johns Hopkins University, where his research focused on developing nanoparticle-based delivery systems for cancer therapy.

Actor Vijay Deverakonda Questioned, Says Even ED Officials Did Not Why
Hyderabad: After four hours of questioning by the Enforcement Directorate in Hyderabad in the online betting case today, Tollywood actor Vijay Deverakonda said that even those who had questioned him did not know why his name had come up in the case. He is among 29 people being questioned by the ED, that has filed ECIRs based on FIRs filed by the Telangana police. The actor sought to make a distinction between illegal betting apps that was being investigated and gaming apps that are legal. "The gaming apps are legal, they have a GST, TDS, licence and permissions, " he said, adding, "They sought to know the company name, financial transactions, bank account numbers, all of which I have shared." The actor pointed out that gaming apps are legal and in fact support many like Indian cricket team, women's cricket, kabaddi, volleyball and so on. "The A23 app that I promoted is skill-based, that the Supreme Court has also said is legal. If you open app in Telangana, it will deny access," he explained, adding that he had only promoted it only in regions where it was legal and allowed. While the Telangana police is looking at cheating because of celebrity endorsement, the ED is looking at violations of PMLA, evasion of tax in promotion and sponsorship deals, digital ad revenue from online promotions and so on. The ED's probe is based on an Enforcement Case Information Report or ECIR filed against 29 celebrities, including actors, TV personalities, and social media influencers. The case stems from multiple First Information Reports filed by the Telangana Police, which allege that these public figures promoted betting apps in violation of the law. The ED suspects that these endorsements were part of a scheme to launder large sums of money generated through illegal gambling. Vijay Deverakonda's team had earlier issued a clarification after his name surfaced in the case. They clarified that Vijay Deverakonda's association was strictly limited to endorsing a "skill-based gaming platform" and was not for any illegal betting or gambling apps.
