Kuwait City: In a time of accelerating digital transformation, the 3rd Cyber First Kuwait Edition took center stage at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Kuwait, bringing together over 300 technology leaders, cybersecurity professionals, and policymakers to address the country's evolving digital threat landscape and cybersecurity vision. Organized by Events First Group, the conference supports the new Kuwait Vision 2035 and the nation's ambitious National Cybersecurity Strategy.
The summit will feature keynote presentations, expert panel discussions, real-world case studies, and an exhibition showcasing cutting-edge solutions. Topics will span AI-powered threat detection, OT/ICS infrastructure security, cloud resilience, Zero Trust frameworks, and national-level collaboration between public and private sectors.

Egypt, Kuwait agree to enhance economic, investment, trade relations
CAIRO – 15 April 2025: Egypt and Kuwait have agreed to advance bilateral economic, investment, and trade relations in a joint statement issued shortly after Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi visit to Kuwait as part of his Gulf tour. The Kuwaiti side expressed its intention to invest in the Egyptian economy and benefit from numerous investment opportunities in Egypt in the fields of energy, agriculture, industry, information technology, real estate development, banking, and the pharmaceutical industry. 'Based on solid, historical relations between the State of Kuwait and the Arab Republic of Egypt and their brotherly peoples, and in order to strengthen the strategic partnership between them, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi paid a visit to the State of Kuwait during the period from April 14 to 15, 2025 at a kind invitation from his brother, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah,' said the statement. The Kuwaiti emir held a bilateral session of talks with President Sisi, preceded by an expanded meeting comprising members of the two countries' official delegations. The meeting witnessed an in-depth discussion of relations between the two sisterly countries, and mutual appreciation for the strength of those close relations at various official and popular levels, it added. The meeting also showed full solidarity between both countries across various pivotal and critical axes in a way that clearly demonstrated their mutual commitment to ensuring and protecting their security and interests, as well as their firm keenness to protect Arab national security as an indivisible whole, it noted. The two sides discussed various aspects of joint cooperation in the economic, investment, trade, energy, infrastructure, healthcare, education, culture, and tourism sectors. They praised the current progress seen in those sectors and the steady growth in economic and trade relations, read the statement. They affirmed their determination to strengthen trade and investment relations in the coming period in a way that helps them achieve their common interests, while assigning officials in both countries to take the necessary steps to that end, it added. The two sides were also informed of the outcomes of the Kuwaiti-Egyptian Joint Committee meetings, held in September 2024 in Cairo as well as ongoing preparations for the 14th session of the joint committee, it pointed out. The Egyptian side commended the renaissance witnessed by the State of Kuwait at all levels with a view to realizing Kuwait Vision 2035, it said. Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti side praised the unprecedented development Egypt has been witnessing under the wise leadership of President Sisi, the efforts made to improve the investment climate in accordance with Egypt Vision 2030, in addition to the diligent work carried out to remove any obstacles facing Kuwaiti investors in Egypt, it noted. Egypt and Kuwait have agreed to advance bilateral economic, investment, and trade relations and the Kuwaiti side expressed its intention to carry out investment projects in the Egyptian market and benefit from numerous investment opportunities in the country in the fields of energy, agriculture, industry, information technology, real estate development, banking, and the pharmaceutical industry, said the statement. The Kuwaiti emir welcomed ongoing preparations for Cairo's hosting of the Gulf-Egypt Investment Forum this year. He confirmed Kuwait's determination to effectively participate in the event in a way that helps achieve the common interests of Egypt and the Gulf region, said the statement. The two sides commended mutual support in various international forums, citing Kuwait's endorsement of the nomination of Dr. Khaled el Anani for the post of Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the 2025-2029 term, it added. They also praised close coordination on regional and international issues of common interest, emphasizing the need to promote the culture of peace, dialogue, and diplomatic settlement of disputes in the Middle East region with a view to achieving development and peaceful coexistence among the region's countries; consistently with the values of tolerance, respect of states' sovereignty over their territories, and non-interference in their internal affairs, it pointed out. President Sisi extolled the Kuwaiti emir's efforts to support security and stability in the Arab region, especially in light of Kuwait's presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) this year, read the statement. Both sides commended the remarkable progress achieved in relations between GCC states and Egypt, affirming keenness to enhance mechanisms for political consultation, the latest meeting of which took place on March 6 in the Saudi city of Mecca, it said. Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti emir applauded President Sisi's efforts to consolidate peace, security and good neighborliness in the region. He also commended Egypt's hosting of the extraordinary Arab Summit held on March 4, 2025, affirming Kuwait's support of the Arab-Islamic plan for the early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, said the statement. On that score, the Kuwaiti emir stressed his country's rejection of any calls for the displacement of the Palestinian people, it added. The two sides stressed the need to adhere to the three-phase ceasefire agreement in Gaza, reached through joint efforts by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, and announced in Doha on January 19, 2025. They expressed their condemnation of the Israeli occupation's violation of this agreement and the resumption of hostilities in the Gaza Strip. They stressed the need to stop targeting civilians and facilitate access to humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people in the occupied territories, in implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions, the most recent of which is Resolution 2720. They also affirmed their rejection of the continued Israeli military operations. They also emphasized the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities in resolving the Palestinian issue by implementing the two-state solution and establishing a Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international resolutions. The Emir of Kuwait lauded President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's tireless efforts to end the current Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and de-escalate tensions in the region. The two sides emphasized the importance of announcing the formation of a transitional government in Syria, to meet the aspirations and hopes of the Syrian people to live in security, safety, and prosperity. The two sides discussed developments in Sudan and efforts aimed at ending the ongoing war. They renewed their call for an end to the conflict, a ceasefire, securing and facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to all Sudanese territories, protecting civilians in accordance with international resolutions, and launching a comprehensive political process within a national dialogue under pure Sudanese ownership and without foreign dictates. The two sides stressed the need to respect the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Libya, and to reject all forms of foreign interference in its affairs. The Kuwaiti side affirmed its full support for Egyptian water security, considering it an integral part of Arab water security, and rejected any action or measure that would infringe on Egypt's rights to the Nile waters. The two sides emphasized the importance of secure and stable navigation in the Red Sea and the waterways in the region, in accordance with international law and international conventions. The two sides also reiterated the importance of completing the demarcation of the Kuwaiti-Iraqi maritime border beyond Maritime Mark 162, in accordance with the rules of international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. The two sides also discussed the issue of Khor Abdullah, stressing the need to adhere to the agreement regulating maritime navigation in Khor Abdullah, signed between the two countries on April 29, 2012. The agreement entered into force on December 5, 2013, after being ratified by both countries and jointly deposited with the United Nations on December 18, 2013. The two sides also emphasized that the Dorra Gas field lies entirely within the maritime zone of the State of Kuwait, and that ownership of the natural resources in the submerged area adjacent to the Divided Zone in which the Dorra field is located is the sole property of the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, based on the agreements concluded between them. They also rejected any claims of any other party having rights in that area.

MBRF and UNDP to organize second phase of ‘Knowledge Journey in Kuwait' for youth empowerment and knowledge dissemination

Such initiatives facilitate meaningful conversations between youth and policymakers and collaborations between the public and private sectors, catalyzing Kuwait's transition to a knowledge-driven economy. They also promote data-driven decision-making and positively shape future strategies to strengthen the national economy. The second phase, slated for February 5 – 6, will explore the role of innovation and information and communication technology (ICT) as transformative forces in the global economy. It will also discuss how technology, research and development, and digital literacy can be leveraged to drive sustainable development in the Middle East region. On the second day, the need to redesign educational systems in line with future needs and the importance of lifelong learning and vocational training will be explored. The third phase, titled 'Knowledge Week,' will be held from April 20-24, 2025, marking the conclusion of the 'Knowledge Journey' initiative. The five-day-long discussions will revisit key insights and outcomes of previous phases, with participants presenting their proposals and plans for advancing the knowledge economy to decision-makers.
