Bilawal Bhutto Denies Pak Link to Terrorists, Rejects India's Muridke Photo Proof
Pakistani leader Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has rejected India's proof of Pakistan and its Army's links to terrorists involved in Pahalgam attack. Speaking to journalists at the UN, Bhutto made a startling claim that the 'bearded man' seen in the picture at a funeral in Muridke is not a terrorist. He even went on to say the suspected terrorist only bears the same name as the person designated as terrorist by the US. The image, which was also shown to global leaders by Indian delegations, shows one of the key Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists mourning the death of other terrorists killed in India's Operation Sindoor surgical strike in Muridke on May 7. Shashi Tharoor was recently seen showing the photograph to Panaman officials during a meeting.#bilawalbhutto #operationSindoor #muridkeattack #lashkaretaiba #shashitharoor #pakistanterrorlink #pahalgamattack #indiaun #modidiplomacy #terrorproof #toi #toibharat #bharat #breakingnews #indianews

Ex-Pak PM Imran Khan's party threatens to launch full-scale movement for his release
A senior leader of incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan has threatened to launch a full-scale movement for his release after Eid Al-Adha if he is not freed before the festival. Ali Amin Gandapur, Chief Minister of the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the prominent leader of Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, was speaking with media after meeting the PTI supremo at the Adiala Jail near Rawalpindi on Thursday. Khan, 72, has been in jail since August 2023 in multiple cases. His party had organised rallies in the past too demanding his release. 'If we don't see Imran Khan being released before Eid Al-Adha, we reserve the right to protest. We are moving towards a movement by bringing the people on the street against Khan's unjustified and unfair detention in fake cases,' Gandapur said. 'The nation must awaken and now it is time to release him from jail. We will no longer tolerate slavery. When we protested from time to time,' he said in response to a question. Gandapur stated that the PTI will make every possible effort and 'we will act swiftly,' as the country is being destroyed by the decisions of those 'who have seized power.' Gandapur termed Khan's continued imprisonment as 'a grave injustice,' and expressed frustration over the government's refusal to allow free dialogue with their incarcerated party leader. He also pointed out how the judiciary has lost its independence, particularly after the 26th constitutional amendment. 'There's no hope left from the judiciary. If the courts were truly independent, we would be seeing free and fair decisions.' Gandapur also condemned the prolonged detention of Khan's wife Bushra Bibi, who he claimed, has been kept under house arrest for 14 months 'without justification.'

It was the first high-level meeting after India and Sri Lanka signed the first ever defence partnership on April 5. The deliberations took place at the Sri Lanka-India Defence Dialogue held in Colombo on Thursday. Colombo, Jun 6 (PTI) India and Sri Lanka explored ways to further expand their bilateral defence cooperation, especially in areas of maritime security, the island nation's defence ministry said. A statement from the Defence Ministry said that the Sri Lankan delegation was led by Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), while the visiting Indian Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh led the Indian delegation. 'The high-level dialogue focused on strengthening bilateral defence cooperation, enhancing maritime security, and exploring new avenues for collaboration in training and strategic engagement,' the statement said. Senior officials from both sides participated in the discussions, reaffirming the longstanding defence partnership between Sri Lanka and India, it said. The Indian Defence Secretary also met the Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) and Thuyacontha separately. On April 5, India and Sri Lanka signed the first-ever defence partnership agreement — firmed up during talks between visiting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake — signalling a major boost the the bilateral defence ties nearly four decades after the Indian Peace Keeping Force's intervention in the island nation strained the relations. The agreement will institutionalise the existing military engagement and pave the way for more structured cooperation including potential collaboration in the defence industrial sector, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri had said then.
