
Two killed in separate traffic crashes in Seremban
SEREMBAN: Two people were killed in separate accidents involving three lorries here on Wednesday (May 14).
In the first crash around 6.10am, a lorry driver was killed when he crashed his vehicle into another lorry at KM244.8 of the North-South Expressway.
Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Hatta Che Din said both lorries were heading south when the accident happened.
"Preliminary probe revealed that the 56-year-old lorry driver had crashed into the rear of another lorry transporting gas.
"The victim who sustained severe injuries died on the spot and his remains were sent to the Rembau Hospital for post-mortem," he said in a statement.
Mohamad urged eyewitnesses to contact investigating officer Insp Syakinah Ahmad at 06-6033394 or call the nearest police station to assist in investigations.
In the second case in Kuala Pilah, a sedan driver was killed when he crashed into a lorry transporting cement.
Kuala Pilah police chief Supt Muhamad Mustafah Hussin said the 48-year-old man was killed on the spot in the 8.30am crash along Jalan Kuala Pilah-Tampin.
"Based on early findings, the driver had lost control of his vehicle and veered into the opposite lane, leading to the crash.
"The victim died on the spot," he said in a statement.
