"She Wasn't Stolen, She Was Preyed On" Epstein Abuse Survivor Virginia Giuffre's Family Slams Trump

"She Wasn't Stolen, She Was Preyed On" Epstein Abuse Survivor Virginia Giuffre's Family Slams Trump Last Updated: Crux Videos The family of Virginia Giuffre, one of the women who accused Jeffrey Epstein of sex trafficking and who died by suicide earlier this year, said that she would have wanted documents related to the disgraced financier to be made public. This comes as the Trump administration faces mounting pressure around the case. President Donald Trump, who had decadeslong ties to Epstein, said earlier this week that the sex offender "stole" young women from Mar-a-Lago, including Giuffre, who worked at Trump's resort as a teenager. Giuffre's family reacted sharply to the allegations, saying 'stolen seems very impersonal, feels very much like an object, and these survivors are not objects." n18oc_world n18oc_crux

India To Continue Russian Oil Imports Despite Trump's Tariff and Penalty Threats: Report

Last Updated: In addition to announcing a new 25 per cent tariff on Indian exports to the US, Trump said that India could face further penalties over its continued purchases of Russian oil Indian companies will continue importing oil from Russia despite US President Donald Trump's move to impose higher tariffs and penalties on New Delhi, Reuters reported on Sunday, citing two government sources. In addition to announcing a new 25 per cent tariff on Indian exports to the US, Trump said in a Truth Social post that India could face further penalties over its continued purchases of Russian oil and weaponry. However, the sources indicated that no immediate shift in policy is expected. 'These are long-term oil contracts," one of the sources explained. 'It is not so simple to just stop buying overnight." Defending India's continued oil imports from Russia, a second source noted that these purchases have played a role in preventing a global spike in oil prices, which have stayed relatively stable despite Western sanctions targeting Russia's energy sector. The source also pointed out that, unlike Iranian and Venezuelan crude, Russian oil is not directly sanctioned, and India is procuring it below the price cap set by the European Union. Russian media reports have indicated that the Government of India has not issued any directive to domestic refineries to halt Russian oil imports or seek alternative suppliers. Meanwhile, a Reuters report on Friday suggested that India, one of the world's major energy importers, might halt purchases of discounted Russian oil. Reacting to the development, Trump told reporters it would be 'a good step" if confirmed. 'I understand that India is no longer going to be buying oil from Russia," he said. 'That's what I heard. I don't know if that's right or not. That is a good step. We will see what happens." However, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that India is guided by what is on offer in the international market while securing its energy needs. 'In securing our energy needs, we are guided by what is on offer in the markets, and by the prevailing global circumstances," he said on Friday. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Kerala Nuns Get Bail In Chhattisgarh 'Conversion, Trafficking' Case

Last Updated: After reviewing the evidence and arguments, the NIA court found grounds to grant conditional bail A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, has granted conditional bail to Sister Sujata and Sister Anisha, two Catholic nuns from Kerala, along with Santosh Baghel, a tribal youth from Chhattisgarh. Their arrest had previously sparked controversy and allegations of political grandstanding, particularly surrounding issues of religious conversions and communal tensions in the region. The trio was apprehended in mid-July following complaints of forced religious conversions among tribal communities in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region. The case, filed under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), prompted outrage from Christian organisations and human rights activists, who argued that the arrests were baseless and politically motivated. Critics claimed that certain factions were exploiting controversial anti-conversion laws to target missionaries and tribal individuals. After reviewing the evidence and arguments, the NIA court found grounds to grant conditional bail. Although the specific conditions were not immediately disclosed, they typically include restrictions such as not leaving the district without court permission, cooperating with the investigation, and avoiding tampering with evidence or influencing witnesses. The granting of bail indicates that the court did not find sufficient prima facie evidence to justify their continued incarceration for terror-related offences or recognised the potential for undue hardship due to the nature of the accusations. Conditional bail was granted to three people in the case, defence lawyer Amrito Das confirmed, according to a report by PTI. Speaking with the news agency, petitioner's advocate B Gopakumar said some bail conditions were also put up, including that, 'they will not be able to go abroad, they will have to surrender the passport, they should not influence the witness." view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
