Wichita Falls Cajun Fest: Live music, crawfish, and duck calling
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — We have just a little over one week before downtown Wichita Falls Development kicks off one of its most significant festivals in downtown Wichita Falls, Cajun Fest!
Program Coordinator for Downtown Wichita Falls Development, Jenny Ford said those attending can expect your annual favorites like live music and of course all the crawfish your heart desires.
She said this year they will still have the crawfish eating contest, a mullet contest, and something new: a duck calling contest!
Ford said not only is Cajun Fest a great way to get outdoors with the family, but it also ensures that downtown development can continue its mission of revitalizing the downtown area.
'This is one of our biggest fundraisers that we have. It brings in 4 to 5000 different people to downtown and it helps them explore downtown, visit shops, and be a part of the community,' Ford said.
With Cajun Fest being one of downtown Wichita Falls Development's most significant events, they could use all the help they can get with setting up and running the event.

Rosedale Strawberry Festival wraps up another successful year
ROSEDALE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— This weekend wrapped up the summer festivities for Rosedale's Strawberry Festival. In the town of Rosedale, the Strawberry Festival continues to grow every year. The original festival developed, as strawberries were at one time the biggest crop in the area. Now, the annual festival, held the first week of June every year, marks the true start to summer. The Strawberry Princess Evelyn Lund and Strawberry Queen Emma Patton said they enjoy how hard everyone works to create this festival and admire how the community comes together. Sunday's strawberry eating contest wrapped up the 2025 festivities. Organizers say the festival is so special to the town of Rosedale and it takes many volunteers to make it come to life. 'There's a lot of people that take a fair drive to get here and there's a lot of people who walk right out of their back door. You know, the strawberry thing's been huge in this community and surrounding area, the township, for generations and decades,' said Matt Cottrell, organizer of this event along with his wife, Sarah Cottrell. Community gathers for 34th Strawberry Days Festival in Grove City
GROVE CITY, Pa. (WKBN) — The rain didn't stop people from enjoying a summer tradition in Grove City on Sunday afternoon. It was the last day of the 34th Strawberry Days Festival at Grove City Memorial Park on West Main Street. There were 32 new vendors selling items such as woodwork, jewelry, candles, pottery and art. Other vendors offered wood carvings, pet supplies, tumblers, mugs, donuts, hot sauces and dips. Event organizer Mary Kay Mattocks says it's fun for the whole family. '176 crafters, there is 18 nonprofit food vendors that are all local food vendors. We have a children's shortcake patch for children,' Mattocks. The festival goes until 9 p.m. and is free to get in. 'Our parade was about half the size': Rain-filled week hurts Lebanon Route 66 Festival turnout
Lebanon, MO — The annual Lebanon Route 66 Festival was held at Boswell Park on June 7. As always, the event featured food vendors, games and live music for families to enjoy. 'It's been a great event.' Bruce Owen, president of the Lebanon of Laclede County Route 66 Society said. 'People come from overseas to see it and everything, it's just a big thing.' While the festival saw positive reception from attendees, Owens states that the heavy rain and flooding during the week caused fewer people to show up this year. 'We usually have a lot more,' Owen said, 'But it was raining this morning, and a lot of people won't get their antique or classic cars out in the rain. Our parade was about half the size and our whole car show was about half the size.' Despite the lower turnout, he says that it was 'more than we expected' and that 'we are happy with how it turned out.' Owen believes that it is important for Lebanon, both economically and culturally, to continue to hold the Route 66 Festival for years to come. 'It's for our city,' said Owen. 'We're showing our support and what our 66 really is, you know, we wouldn't be here as a town probably as big or as industrial if it weren't for our 66.' Springfield was recently announced as the host city for two Birthplace of Route 66 Festivals: the first starting in August 2025, while the larger event will take place sometime in 2026, which will be broadcast nationwide.
