Wichita Falls Cajun Fest: Live music, crawfish, and duck calling

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — We have just a little over one week before downtown Wichita Falls Development kicks off one of its most significant festivals in downtown Wichita Falls, Cajun Fest! Program Coordinator for Downtown Wichita Falls Development, Jenny Ford said those attending can expect your annual favorites like live music and of course all the crawfish your heart desires. She said this year they will still have the crawfish eating contest, a mullet contest, and something new: a duck calling contest! Ford said not only is Cajun Fest a great way to get outdoors with the family, but it also ensures that downtown development can continue its mission of revitalizing the downtown area. 'This is one of our biggest fundraisers that we have. It brings in 4 to 5000 different people to downtown and it helps them explore downtown, visit shops, and be a part of the community,' Ford said. With Cajun Fest being one of downtown Wichita Falls Development's most significant events, they could use all the help they can get with setting up and running the event. Downtown Wichita Falls Farmers Market hosts special 'Soup-er Bowl'

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL)— Wichita Falls is ramping up its excitement for the big game. The Downtown Wichita Falls Farmers Market only added to the anticipation. The Farmers Market celebrated the weekend by hosting a special 'Soup-er' Bowl market. A soup vendor set up shop selling red beans and rice, an homage to the game being played in New Orleans. Several vendors also showed support for their favorite team playing in Sunday's big game, adding a competitive air to the usually peaceful farmers market. Texoma dogs from Underdog Express making Puppy Bowl debut Jenny Ford with Downtown Development said the competitive air added a little excitement to her usual duties at the market. 'We have had a lot more people,' Ford said. 'I've been passing out cards with all our special event days, and our Soup-er bowl magnets, and I've also had a lot more people wearing their gear, their fan gear either for the Chiefs or the Eagles, which has been really fun.' The Downtown Wichita Falls Farmers Market is set up from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday at 8th and Ohio. They have themed weekends for the rest of the year leading up to the Christmas Market. ‘Soup-er Bowl' happening at farmers market downtown Wichita Falls

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Officials with Downtown Wichita Falls Development have an event to help you prepare for the big game this weekend. The Soup-er Bowl is happening this Saturday at the downtown Wichita Falls Farmers Market. WFISD Foundation Golf tournament to be held downtown Wichita Falls Program coordinator Jenny Ford said vendors of all sorts will be set up at the farmers market, selling everything from arts and crafts to homemade goods and soup. To get in the spirit of the big game this weekend, vendors will have signs showing who they're rooting for and a big screen on which they'll be playing ESPN. Ford said this event is just the first of many this year, and she hopes to bring it to the downtown Wichita Falls farmers market. 'I want to hold more events at the market, make it more fun and more than just a market to go and buy your produce or crafts or trinkets. I want to make it more engaging with the city of Wichita Falls.' The Soup-er Bowl will kick off Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ford said they always welcome new vendors and anyone interested in setting up at the farmers market. Close Thanks for signing up!
