Daily Mail4 hours ago

Celebrity Gogglebox fans have shared a big complaint as the Channel 4 show returned with a new lineup.
Friday night saw the star-studded spin-off from the beloved reality programme hit screens again for another series.
Celebrities including Nick Grimshaw and his niece Liz, as well as Rylan Clark and his mum, Linda, returned to their sofas to give their verdicts on popular TV shows.
There were a few newcomers too, with Paddy McGuinness and Vernon Kay taking a seat, and Geordie Shore 's Vicky Pattison and The Only Way Is Essex star Pete Wicks.
However, the show was not well received by some viewers and many expressed how they preferred the non-celebrity version.

Many took to X to share their verdicts and posted: 'Celebrity Gogglebox just isn't funny like the original, it feels forced! #gogglebox #Celebritygogglebox.'
Another said: 'We watch normal #Gogglebox because its hilarious and we love all the families. #celebritygogglebox is not funny and we couldnt care less about the celebs. Its just people watching telly.'
Someone else penned: 'Not the dreaded celebrities again, so many of them are so annoying #Celebritygogglebox.'
However, some viewers were happy to see the celebrity version return to screens.
One posted: 'Watching the always delightful Celebrity @C4Gogglebox. It's still so fascinating how watching a show about people simply watching TV can be so strangely addictive.
'Watching as a host of celebs give their views on whats on the small screen..... #CelebrityGogglebox.'
Someone else added: 'Oh my days absolutely loving the new series of #Celebritygogglebox and love the fact that @VickyPattison is on it.'
Across seven series, it has seen a host of big names react to all the highs and lows of British television, including Noel Gallagher, Mel B and Danny and Dani Dyer.
However, the show was not well received by some viewers and many expressed how they preferred the non-celebrity version
Also joining the Celebrity Gogglebox cast this series are Inbetweeners legend James Buckley and his wife Clair, who co-host YouTube series and podcast At Home With The Buckleys.
Other newbies also include pop singer Jess Glynne and her partner, retired women's football legend and sports broadcaster Alex Scott.
They join a beloved returning cast, including The Happy Monday bandmates Shaun Ryder and Bez, along with Paralympic swimming icon Ellie Simmonds and her pal, Radio 2 presenter Richie Anderson.
Comedians Babatunde Aleshe and Mo Gilligan will also be back on our screens, along with Diversity dancers Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely.
And they will be joined by Gavin and Stacey actor Larry Lamb, with his son George Lamb.

Katherine Ryan: Battleaxe review – comedy's ice queen melts into audience agony aunt

How would you like a ruthless cynic as an agony aunt? That's the question thrown up by this touring show from Katherine Ryan, which pairs 45 minutes of caustic standup with a second 45 of counselling to the crowd. You might protest that that adds up to less than an hour of new material in Battleaxe, plus a second act that's more improvised therapy session meets audience Q&A. But at least those three-quarters of an hour find Ryan on imperious form, dispensing tart put-downs of men in general and some men in particular. The Guardian's journalism is independent. We will earn a commission if you buy something through an affiliate link. Learn more. This ice queen of comedy pose is one Ryan wears lightly now, after a few years where it sometimes felt restrictive and for show. Then came her 2022 show Missus, which diluted (or enriched) the persona to address the Canadian's then-recent out-of-the-blue marriage. Battleaxe is a retrenchment after that more expansive offering, with Ryan back in her high-status comfort zone, eye-rolling at her children's foibles, breaching PC protocols for LOLs, and wrinkling her nose at the weaker sex. 'If dildos could bleed a radiator, men would be obsolete.' There's a fine routine on the contrasting ways male and female bodies husband their reproductive material, and many a weary remark at the expense of 'im indoors. See this masterpiece of double-edgery: 'I love my current husband so much so far.' The Ryan we meet post-interval sits a little at odds to this act one badass, as she responds to problems volunteered by the crowd with even-handedness in place of cynical certainty. Fair enough: such is (in her own words) her duty of care, as she ministers to a man whose Lego habit his new wife refuses to tolerate, and a couple at odds about the appeal (or otherwise) of having a third child. But, in this touring show of two halves, the laughs in this crowdsourced comedy are milder than the short, sharp hit of concentrated Katherine that goes before. Touring until 28 June

Sharon Osbourne's rarely-seen daughter Aimee, 41, looks completely unrecognisable with shock new look as she steps out in Manchester

Sharon Osbourne 's rarely-seen daughter Aimee looked completely unrecognisable as she stepped out in Manchester on Sunday. The eldest daughter of Ozzy and Sharon, 41, debuted her slimmed down appearance while leaving a hotel alongside Brigitte Calls Me Baby star Wes Leavins, who are currently on tour in the UK. Former X Factor judge Sharon, 72, who recently admitted that Ozempic has had an adverse effect on her health, was recently pictured with Aimee in Los Angeles. While her younger siblings Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39, skyrocketed into fame, singer Aimee prefers to live a life away from the spotlight. The wild Osbourne clan crashed onto screens in 2002, lifting the lid on their wild antics and their foul language. Aimee was largely raised in California until the age of 16, however she eventually moved out of the family home as filming for The Osbournes kicked off. She said that she would have liked to stay at home 'a little longer', but as the MTV crew moved in the then teenager moved out. Reflecting on her decision to not appear on the show she added: 'Back then, I still felt I was trying to figure out who I was in the chaos of family life, so why on earth would I want that portrayed on television? 'I wanted to protect myself, my parents, my siblings, too. They were very young, very impressionable.' Sharon said on the Talk in 2018: 'She felt too that she didn't want to grow up on camera. She hated the idea — it was appalling to her. 'And so she left at 16 and I regret every day that she did. It broke my heart when she moved.' In 2003, she featured in the MTV musical adaption of Wuthering Heights. Presently she is the lead singer for pop band ARO, whose first single Raining Gold was released in 2015. The reality TV personality, who appeared on the Dax Shepard podcast - Armchair Expert - revealed she and her older sister had been estranged for a long time. On the podcast episode, which aired on May 3, 2021, Kelly said the pair were unable to get on the same page. 'We don't talk,' Kelly, then 36, told Shepard. 'We're just really different. She doesn't understand me and I don't understand her.' Back in 2015 Aimee shared with The Independent that her and Kelly were not on close terms. 'I wouldn't say there is an ease between us, but there is an acceptance,' she said. 'Do we socialize? No.' However, Aimee and Jack's bond is staggeringly different, with the pair both running production company Osbourne Media together. The siblings are also in the process of co-producing a biopic about their parents, according to Variety.
