Last week, Mariah Carey dropped her first proper single in years — and now, 'Type Dangerous' is getting a music video, as revealed Monday (June 9).
As teased in a clip posted by the vocalist on her socials, MC's new visual will arrive on Friday (June 13). The preview finds a characteristically glamorous Carey walking into a casino in a sparkling floor-length dress. The vibes are fun and carefree, with the exception of a hint of danger when the camera pans to a man holding a knife behind his back.

'To show my appreciation for your support, thank you, DJs,' Mimi says on the track over more shots from the video, one of which finds her sporting a glittering New York Knicks tank top in front of a wall of PO boxes, just weeks after the Knicks were eliminated from the NBA finals by the Indiana Pacers in game six of their Eastern Conference showdown.
The 'Type Dangerous' music video will arrive exactly one week after the song dropped on June 6. Carey teased the new single for a few days prior to its release, also hinting in one post that her long-awaited 16th album would be following soon after. The Songbird Supreme hasn't dropped an album since 2018's Caution, which reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
Carey's video announcement also came on the same day she gave 'Type Dangerous' its live performance debut at the 2025 BET Awards, where she was also honored with the Ultimate Icon title. 'My life and career have been quite the adventure,' the superstar said while accepting the award, which marked her first-ever BET honor. 'It took me a while, but I realized life is far too short to live for anyone else's approval.'

Tyrese Haliburton teases dad for ‘out of pocket' fashion faux pas at NBA Finals

John Haliburton was 'out of pocket' on Wednesday, but it wasn't for an interaction with an opposing player. The father of Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton caught some flak from his son over his wardrobe choice for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, which culminated in a 116-107 win for Indiana over the Thunder. A clip circulated on social media of the younger Haliburton — who scored 22 points with 10 assists and nine rebounds — going up to his dad during pregame warmups and joking with him about the pants he had on. 'You're out of pocket for them jeans,' Tyrese said as he dapped up his dad. 'You out of pocket for them jeans.' 3 Tyrese Haliburton made fun of his dad before NBA Finals Game 3 on June 11, 2025. CJ Fogler/X John appeared to smile and patted his son on the chest as Tyrese walked back onto the court. It wasn't immediately clear what made John's wardrobe choice so egregious that his son took a playful jab at him, but the elder Haliburton seemed to be all smiles on Wednesday night as he returned to his courtside seat for the first time since he got into a confrontation with Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo in Game 5 of the first round. His seat was directly behind an ESPN cameraman behind one of the baskets. 3 Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers reacts during the fourth quarter against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game Three of the 2025 NBA Finals at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on June 11, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Tyrese poked fun at the situation following that game — a 130-121 win for Indiana — when discussing his dad's return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. 'I know people were saying, 'Free Pops' and Pops is free, but he was not in jail,' he told reporters at the time. 'He has a very beautiful home, very pretty to watch basketball. So he was just fine. I just wanted to win.' 3 John Haliburton attends Game 3 of the 2025 NBA Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Kyle Terada-Imagn Images John has become a bit of a folk hero for Pacers fans, with one local TV reporter posting to social media on Wednesday that she believed she found 'John Haliburton's biggest fan, and he just so happens to be from Taiwan!' With the win, the Pacers took a 2-1 series lead in the Finals.
