As part of the 25th anniversary celebration of 'Culture's Biggest Night,' Jamie Foxx, Mariah Carey, Kirk Franklin, and Snoop Dogg will be recognized for their decades of game-changing impact across music, film, advocacy, and culture. The highly anticipated show will air live on Monday, June 9 at 8 PM ET/PT, hosted by comedian and actor Kevin Hart. Mariah Carey, the best-selling female artist of all time, continues to set records with 200 million albums sold and 19 Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles. Her five-octave vocal range and undeniable influence have shaped modern pop. In 2025, Carey also celebrates the 20th anniversary of her landmark album The Emancipation of Mimi , cementing her legendary status. Jamie Foxx, an Oscar and Grammy-winning entertainer, is being recognized not only for his groundbreaking film and music career but also for his work behind the scenes through his Foxxhole Productions banner. From Back in Action to his #1 Netflix comedy special What Had Happened Was… , Foxx continues to dominate across platforms. Kirk Franklin, a 20-time Grammy winner, has revolutionized Gospel music for more than 30 years. Fusing gospel with R&B, hip-hop, and pop, Franklin has pushed boundaries while uplifting communities, solidifying his status as one of the genre's most important figures. Snoop Dogg, a cultural icon with over 40 million albums sold and 21 studio releases, has influenced music, fashion, and business globally. The 2025 BET Awards will also feature performances by Lil Wayne, Teyana Taylor, GloRilla, Playboi Carti, and Leon Thomas. Kendrick Lamar leads nominations with ten, while Doechii, Drake, Future, and GloRilla each received six. Jamie Foxx To Be Honored As Ultimate Icon At 2025 BET Awards
Jamie Foxx is set to be recognized with one of the night's top honors at the 2025 BET Awards. The acclaimed actor and performer was named one of this year's Ultimate Icon Award recipients on Wednesday (May 28). According to a press statement, the award is bestowed upon talent in celebration of their decades of groundbreaking contributions to music, entertainment, advocacy, and community impact. Alongside Foxx, Mariah Carey, Kirk Franklin, and Snoop Dogg will also be honored at the annual award show. Past recipients of the Ultimate Icon award included Janet Jackson (2015), Deborah L. Lee (2018), and Tyler Perry (2019). With the honor, Carey, Franklin, and Snoop Dogg are also set to perform on the June 9 show, with previously announced sets from Lil Wayne, Teyana Taylor, GloRilla, Playboi Carti, and Leon Thomas. As far as nominations for the 25th annual BET Awards go, Kendrick Lamar is in the lead with 10 potential wins at the black-tie affair. He is followed by Doechii, Drake, Future, and GloRilla, who are all tied with six nominations, Metro Boomin with five, and SZA and The Weeknd, tied with four nominations each. BET has also previously announced that it will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the music video countdown show 106 & Park with former hosts AJ Calloway, Free Marie Wright, Julissa Bermudez, Keshia Chanté, Rocsi Diaz, and Terrence J reuniting on stage. The tribute will feature performances from previous host and Mr. 106 & Park, Bow Wow, Amerie, B2K, Jim Jones, Mya, T.I., and more. The cable network said in a press release Wednesday that the June 9 ceremony, hosted by Kevin Hart, will feature four recipients of the Ultimate Icon Award for their "decades of groundbreaking contributions to music, entertainment, advocacy and community impact." The awards will be presented to Carey, the best-selling female solo artist of all time; Foxx, an actor and performer whose accolades include Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe awards; Franklin, a 20-time Grammy-winning gospel singer; and Snoop Dogg, a rapper and hip-hop mogul with nearly three decades "as an unparalleled force" in culture. Carey, Franklin and Snoop Dogg will also perform. Previous Ultimate Icon Award recipients include Janet Jackson, Deborah L. Lee and Tyler Perry. The BET Awards will air live June 9 at 8 p.m. EDT on BET. Kendrick Lamar leads the nominees with 10 nominations, followed by Doechii, Drake, Future and GloRilla with six nominations each. LOS ANGELES (AP) — The BET Awards will celebrate its 25th anniversary by honoring four legendary performers — Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Jamie Foxx and Kirk Franklin. Carey, Snoop, Foxx and Franklin will receive the Ultimate Icon Award at next month's awards show, where Kendrick Lamar is the leading nominee. BET says the Ultimate Icon recipients were selected due to their impact on entertainment as well as their community impact and advocacy. Here's more to know about the show. Who's nominated at the BET Awards Lamar earned 10 nominations earlier this month, including an album of the year for his highly-acclaimed project 'GNX.' His ubiquitous diss track 'Not Like Us,' emanating from the Drake feud, received nominations for video of the year and viewer's choice award. The rap megastar made waves with his Grammy triumph, winning song and record of the year for 'Not Like Us.' He followed up with a groundbreaking halftime show, becoming the first solo hip-hop performer to headline the coveted slot. He is currently on the Grand National Tour with SZA. Doechii, Drake, Future and GloRilla tied for the second-most nominations with six. Metro Boomin pulled in five nods, while SZA and The Weeknd each scored four. Who are the show's performers? Calloway, Free, Julissa Bermudez, Keshia Chanté, Rocsi Diaz and Terrence J. The tribute will feature performers such as Bow Wow, Amerie, B2K, Jim Jones, Mya, T.I. and Mr. 106 & Park. It is not yet known whether Carey, Snoop, Foxx and Franklin will receive individual tributes during the ceremony. When will the awards take place?
