Sydney Sweeney reveals her 'pretty simple' approach to wearing makeup

Perth Now14-05-2025

Sydney Sweeney has a "pretty simple" approach to everyday makeup.
The 27-year-old actress admitted that when she is away from glamorous red carpet events or not on set in front of a camera, she will opt for minimal mascara, keep her hair down and "doesn't really do a lot" with her beauty routine in general.
She told InStyle: "In my day-to-day life, I'm pretty simple. I let my hair be natural and down, and then maybe a little mascara and some concealer when I break out. And I love blush. But other than that, I don't really do a lot."
But when it is time for the the 'Euophoria' star to get ready for a public event, she enlists the help of an entire glam team and she has various different strategies to achieve the look that she wants to present to the world.
She said: "I have an amazing glam team [Melissa Hernandez and Glen Coco], who I have relied on heavily. I don't know how to do half the stuff they do. They're both incredible artists. We definitely work as a unit, including Molly Dickson, my stylist. We all communicate and collaborate. We're like, 'Okay, is this gonna be a hair moment? Is this gonna be a wardrobe moment? Maybe it's a makeup moment.'
"We all create mood boards, and we pass them around for every event. We're all very hands on."
Ultimately, the 'Anyone But You' actress thinks of her personal fashion sense as "casual, comfortable, and cute" and made sure to take home some of her jeans that she wore a lot of on the second season of 'Euphoria' because they were a "perfect" fit for her.
She said: "Casual, comfortable, and cute.
"On Euphoria season two, I took a lot of Cassie's jeans because they were perfectly tailored to me. But I don't really keep much fashion-wise from my characters, because I don't like to bring my characters into my personal life. And so I've never really thought about taking a lot of clothes from them. Maybe I should."

NEWS OF THE WEEK: Sydney Sweeney discusses collapse of her engagement

The 27-year-old Euphoria star had been engaged to longtime partner Jonathan Davino, 41, for three years before they abruptly split earlier this year. The TV star has been reasonably tight-lipped over the end of her relationship but has now given a very to-the-point response when discussing her romantic life. Opening up to The Sunday Times, Sweeney was asked if she was still planning her wedding - and she bluntly replied, "No." Delicately pressing on, the interviewer then asked the actress if she was single, and she confirmed her status by responding, "Yes."

Mindy Kaling's 'superstitions' influence her acting career

Mindy Kaling's superstitions have stopped her from appearing in Never Have I Ever. The 45-year-old actress co-created the hit Netflix series, which is set in the San Fernando Valley in California, and Mindy has now revealed why she didn't cast herself in the show. Mindy - who previously co-created The Sex Lives of College Girls - told The Hollywood Reporter: "A show literally about an Indian American family in southern California, and if I wasn't on that - what's wrong with me? "I think there is a part of me that feels a little superstitious. I'm like, 'these seem to have gone well and I'm not in them so maybe I'll wait.'" Despite this, Mindy plans to return to acting soon. She shared: "I miss it. I would like to write or co-create a show for me to act in soon." Mindy would actually love to combine acting and directing in the coming years. She said: "I would love to do that again. "That's the thing that maybe in the next couple of years, when I launch a couple of other things that are earlier in the pipeline, that would be something that would be fun to do again." Mindy previously admitted that she feels most comfortable writing about "strivers and dorks". The Hollywood star is a huge fan of the X-rated drama series Euphoria - which stars the likes of Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney - but Mindy doubts she could write a similar type of TV show. Mindy - who recently co-created the sports comedy Running Point - told The Hollywood Reporter: "I love Euphoria' and I think [creator] Sam [Levinson] is like a genius. I think he has a lot to say about things like sex and drug use and addiction and those are incredibly interesting, but we don't have a ton of experience in that. "I watch that show on the edge of my seat, vicariously, but I feel like nerds lusting over guys is more what we feel comfortable writing about so that's why we do this. We write about strivers and dorks and people who are underestimated."

Sydney Sweeney reacts to her bathwater soap going viral

Sydney Sweeney is having "fun" watching her bathwater soap go viral. The 27-year-old actress - who is known for her roles in Euphoria and The White Lotus - has collaborated with soap brand Dr. Squatch to create a limited-edition bar called Bathwater Bliss and is just enjoying seeing the whole thing going viral. She told E! News: "I think it's more fun to see everyone else talk about it. "I pitched it!" She said in a press release: 'When your fans start asking for your bathwater, you can either ignore it, or turn it into a bar of Dr. Squatch soap,' Sweeney said in a press release. Sydney first partnered with Dr. Squatch for a commercial promoting the brand's Natural Body Wash, where she appeared in a bubble bath. Now, the company has repurposed the suds from that ad into a new product. Sydney's soap bar features exfoliating sand and pine bark extract, combined with a splash of the actress' bathwater. According to the brand's statement, the scent 'channels two of the best places on Earth: the great outdoors and Sydney Sweeney's bathtub'. At the time, the Anyone But You star admitted that the whole project was a "weird" one but insisted that was all in the "best way possible" and that she wanted fans to recognise the "realities" of traditional personal care products as opposed to natural options. 'It's weird in the best way, and I love that we created something that's not just unforgettable, it actually smells incredible and delivers like every other Dr. Squatch product I love. 'Hopefully, this helps guys wake up to the realities of conventional personal care products and pushes them towards natural.' The Bathwater Bliss soap will be available in a very limited run – only 5,000 bars will be produced, going on sale at noon EST on Friday, 6 June, while supplies last.
