Man charged after drug sale shooting in Overland: Records

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A man is facing felony charges after allegedly shooting a man in the head after a drug sale last month.
According to police, KeShaun Whitfield and another individual were in the 9600 block of Cote Brilliante on the night of May 22, meeting a man to purchase marijuana from.
After the transaction, the man went to sit in the driver's seat of his car when Whitfield shot him in the head. Court documents say the victim quickly drove away to the 9400 block of Cote Brilliante.

Whitfield and the other individual fled the scene.
Police located the victim and transported him to the hospital, where he was treated for a shattered jaw and brain swelling. The victim said he knew who shot him, and picked Whitfield's photo in a lineup.
Whitfield is charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. A bond hearing was scheduled for Friday morning.
