Boutique Whitening Australia Launches Clinical Training Program to Reinforce Dentist-Led Teeth Whitening Systems
Boutique Whitening Australia has introduced a clinical system that helps dental teams deliver low-sensitivity teeth whitening with clear protocols and reduced chair time.
Australia, June 10, 2025 -- Reclaiming Professional Teeth Whitening: A Cosmetic Treatment, Clinically Delivered
The teeth whitening industry in Australia is facing a significant shift. Non-dental providers, such as beauty salons, pharmacies, spas, and online retailers, have increasingly offered whitening services, often without the clinical oversight required for optimal results. While these options may seem convenient for patients, they lack the necessary safety protocols and standardised practices of professional dentistry. Boutique Whitening Australia is taking a stand to redefine whitening as a clinical service, leveraging education, evidence, and proven systems to empower dentists to confidently offer this treatment.
Stephen Douglas, the National Manager of Boutique Whitening Australia and creator of the New Generation Teeth Whitening Mastery (NGTWM) Program, highlights the lack of proper training in whitening for dental professionals. 'Most dentists were never trained in whitening. It's not their fault, it just wasn't part of their education,' Douglas explains. This gap in training has led many clinicians to feel ill-equipped to offer whitening services confidently, despite their patients' high demand for such treatments.
The Clinical Gap: Whitening Education in Dentistry
Despite the growing demand for whitening services, many dental schools fail to provide sufficient training on the procedure. As a result, dental professionals often lack the structured protocols and systematic approaches needed to achieve predictable results. This absence of formal education has allowed non-dental providers to enter the market, leading to inconsistent outcomes and increased patient dissatisfaction.
Boutique Whitening Australia aims to address this issue by offering a comprehensive clinical system that goes beyond simply providing whitening products. The NGTWM Program equips practices with evidence-based protocols, team training, and patient engagement strategies designed to integrate whitening seamlessly into existing dental services. This ensures consistent, high-quality results without increasing chair time or burdening dental staff.
Patient Risk and Industry Trends
With the rise of non-dental whitening services, patient safety and treatment outcomes have become a significant concern. Many non-dental providers lack the necessary training to assess patients adequately, follow up on treatments, or manage adverse reactions such as sensitivity. As a result, patients may face unpredictable results and reduced satisfaction.
'We need to bring whitening back to the professionals—dentists have the expertise, the trust of their patients, and the responsibility to lead these treatments,' says Douglas. Boutique Whitening advocates for whitening to be recognised as a dental procedure, grounded in clinical evidence, patient care, and ethical responsibility.
Building Sustainable Whitening Systems for Dental Practices
Boutique Whitening stands out in the industry due to its emphasis on a system-first philosophy. Rather than focusing on the cost or specifications of whitening products, the company's priority is to deliver consistent, predictable results through structured clinical protocols. The NGTWM Program supports dental practices by enhancing team communication, reducing patient sensitivity, and driving superior outcomes.
'We don't blame the gel, we fix the system,' Douglas says. 'Sensitivity? Inconsistent results? Poor uptake? That's rarely about the gel. It's about how whitening is introduced, prescribed, and followed up.' By focusing on systems and processes, Boutique Whitening empowers dental practices to transform whitening into a profitable, patient-centred service. Over 750 practices across Australia have already adopted the NGTWM Program, helping to improve outcomes and elevate the patient experience.
Leadership and Clinical Confidence in Whitening
Boutique Whitening's mission is to restore clinical confidence in whitening by providing dental professionals with the necessary training and tools. This shift encourages dental practices to view whitening not as a cosmetic upsell, but as an essential clinical service that improves patient satisfaction and fosters practice growth.
'This isn't about selling more gel,' says Douglas. 'It's about creating better patient outcomes with less chair time and more confidence.' By prioritising education, systematisation, and patient engagement, Boutique Whitening empowers practices to offer high-quality whitening treatments that align with professional standards and ethics.
Award-Winning Excellence: Best Professional Teeth Whitening System in Australia of 2025
Boutique Whitening's innovative approach to professional teeth whitening has earned the company the prestigious title of Best Professional Teeth Whitening System in Australia of 2025. This award recognises Boutique Whitening's outstanding contribution to elevating the teeth whitening industry in Australia, especially in an era when non-dental providers have increasingly dominated the market. The company's commitment to dental-led, patient-focused whitening services has set it apart from competitors.
The recognition underscores Boutique Whitening's dedication to providing structured, clinical whitening systems that ensure better patient outcomes, reduced sensitivity, and consistent results.
The Opportunity Ahead for Dental Practices
With over $20 million in whitening revenue generated across Australia using Boutique Whitening's system, the opportunity for dental practices to profit from whitening is clear. Whitening has the potential to become a steady, high-margin revenue stream that benefits both patients and dental practices, all without the need for expensive advertising campaigns or gimmicks.
By embracing a clinical approach to whitening, dentists can offer a service that aligns with their professional standards, promotes patient satisfaction, and strengthens their practice. As Douglas puts it, 'We're not just about teeth whitening; we're about improving the patient experience and making whitening an integral part of dental care.'

Kia Blames Regulations For The Death of Gas Performance Cars
We recently mourned the loss of fun gas-powered cars in Europe due to tightening emissions regulations. But the situation is actually much worse. The gradual demise of performance vehicles with combustion engines is happening worldwide. Kia is the latest automaker to announce that its future sports cars will be purely electric to meet stricter legislation. Kia Australia's product chief, Roland Rivero, told Carsales that automakers have no choice but to 'satisfy the global situation and CO 2 regulations are tightening all around the world.' If there is a silver lining in all of this, it's that the GT badge will live on for more electric models. The new EV4 is a prime candidate to receive the electric GT treatment. Rivero remains optimistic about catering to enthusiasts, even in an increasingly electrified era. He believes 'there's no reason why an electrified product can't give you a similar experience [to internal combustion performance cars], albeit with some computer tech and whatnot.' Still, another car like the Stinger GT with its V-6 engine isn't going to happen. The GT badge is already appearing on electric models, such as the supersized EV9 GT . Meanwhile, the smaller EV6 GT recently received an update that includes simulated gear shifts and engine sounds , "features" that tie into Rivero's 'computer tech' comment. Hyundai's N division may have axed the i20 N and i30 N hot hatches, the Kona N crossover, and the quirky Veloster N, but it's not ready to abandon internal combustion just yet. The company still sells the Elantra N and has pledged to launch a next-generation model with a bigger engine . Earlier this year, N division co-founder Joonwoo Park hinted in an Auto Express interview that hybrid powertrains could help keep fun ICE cars alive under the N badge. Addressing the elephant in the room, any hybrid or EV with performance chops will come with a weight penalty. This is especially true for fully electric performance cars, but it's a compromise carmakers seem willing to accept. Hyundai and Kia appear to be leaning into SUVs for now, which only exacerbates the situation. But that's the reality of 2025. Consumers want SUVs, and governments want automakers to reduce the emissions of their fleets. To satisfy both demands and stay in business, car companies are producing more electric SUVs. A few of these receive upgrades to earn their GT and N badges, which were exclusive to combustion-engine cars not long ago. Hyundai's luxury brand Genesis does have a new twin-turbo V-8 , but it's intended solely for race cars. Markel launches InsurtechRisk+ product for insurtech businesses
LONDON, June 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Markel Insurance, the insurance operations within Markel Group Inc. (NYSE:MKL), today announced the launch of its InsurtechRisk+ product for insurtech businesses. The InsurtechRisk+ package contains four insuring clauses – insurance services and technology liability, directors and officers (D&O) liability, crime, and cyber liability and loss cover, which offer protection for UK, Europe, Australia, Asia and Canada domiciled businesses with limits up to GBP £10 million. Akin to the organisation's existing FintechRisk+ product, insureds taking out InsurtechRisk+ will have access to various value-add services, including: 24/7 business, legal and employment advice; R&D tax advisory; debt recovery support; grant and funding assistance; contract reviews and a cyber risk toolkit, which are free to use anytime during the policy. The four insuring clauses, combined with these value-add risk management services, will help insurtech businesses navigate the complex landscape of cyber threats, crime and financial liabilities. Markel's offering avoids the risk of having gaps in cover through having different policies with multiple insurers, providing a cost-effective, 'one-stop-shop' solution for clients so that they can concentrate on growing their businesses. Nick Rugg, Head of Fintech and Investment Management Insurance at Markel, commented: "The cyber risk landscape has evolved since we launched our first Insurtech policy, with the emergence of more advanced attacks from threat actors utilising AI tools/technology to infiltrate company networks, impersonate senior personnel and steal confidential data and funds." He expands: "Our newly created InsurtechRisk+ policy provides superior cover, reflecting the many cyber exposures that insurtech companies face today and our continued dedication to providing bespoke risk management and transfer solutions for our insurtech/fintech insureds, backed by an award-winning claims team. "Another key goal in launching InsurtechRisk+ is to offer best-in-class cover alongside risk management solutions that go beyond typical post-loss assistance for policyholders. We want to disrupt traditional insurance products as well as how customers view the role of the insurer as only helping clients after an incident has taken place." Rugg concludes: "I'm looking forward to rolling out this cover for our insurtech businesses, together with the value-add services that have been tailored with their needs in mind." About Markel Insurance We are Markel Insurance, a leading global specialty insurer with a truly people-first approach. As the insurance operations within the Markel Group Inc. Qantas shutters Jetstar Asia, blaming costs and competition
STORY: Australia's Qantas is shutting down its Singapore-based budget airline, Jetstar Asia. That will mean up to 500 job losses, and see the carrier's fleet of Airbus jets redeployed to Australia and New Zealand. Qantas said Wednesday that rising costs and mounting competition had driven the move. Since the end of the pandemic, budget rivals like AirAsia and Scoot have ramped up services. That has driven competition up, and airfares down. Jetstar Group Chief Executive Stephanie Tully says Singapore's Changi Airport has also become a very expensive place to run an airline. It's been steadily raising charges to pay for investment. Tully says costs there have soared for fuel, airport fees, ground handling and security. She said Jetstar Asia had only been profitable in six of its 20 years, and was on track for another deficit this year. Now the airline will be shuttered at the end of July, with customers offered refunds or rebooking on other carriers where possible. The shutdown does not affect Qantas's other budget units - Jetstar Airways and Jetstar Japan. Shares in Qantas were down around 1.5% in afternoon trade following Wednesday's news.
