Child among four injured after car crashes into three motorcycles in Kuantan after running red light
Acting Kuantan district police chief Supt Mohd Adli Mat Daud said the crash was believed to have occurred when a Perodua Myvi, driven by a 29-year-old man from Tanjung Lumpur, rammed into the motorcycles as they were exiting the junction.
'Initial investigation found that the car continued moving although the traffic light had turned red during the 8.45 pm incident,' he said in a statement today.
Mohd Adli said the collision resulted in injuries to four individuals, including two women motorcyclists and a male pillion passenger, aged between eight and 32.
The victims were taken to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital here for treatment, and the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving. — Bernama

GEORGE TOWN, July 7 — Penang Hill Corporation (PHC) has lodged a police report following the discovery of several dead animals—including dogs, cats and birds—at various locations across Penang Hill. According to Free Malaysia Today (FMT), PHC general manager Cheok Lay Leng said the carcasses of seven dogs, three cats and five birds were found this morning, scattered in open areas and spotted by members of the public. 'There might be more. We are still looking. We found food spread along jeep track and a few locations,' he was quoted as saying. 'We suspect the main targets are the stray dogs. There have been claims by hikers and visitors in recent weeks that they were bitten by strays.' Cheok said PHC will also file formal complaints with the veterinary services department and the wildlife and national parks department (Perhilitan) on Tuesday. The agency is also conducting its own internal investigation. Earlier today, Penang Hill posted on its official Facebook page that the animals were believed to have been poisoned. 'Using poison to eliminate stray animals is unacceptable and is punishable under the Penal Code (Act 574) and/or Animal Welfare Act 2015 (Act 772) with imprisonment, a fine, or both,' the post stated.

Pakistani suspect in Shah Alam child sex assault cases still on the run in Malaysia
SHAH ALAM, July 6 — A Pakistani man believed to be a suspect in four cases of sodomy and molestation involving three children and a teenage boy in Section 27 and Section 28 here, is believed to still be in the country. Shah Alam police chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the 25-year-old suspect who reportedly assaulted the victims in separate incidents between April and now. 'To date, the number of victims remains at four, all of whom are believed to be students or minors,' he said in a statement. He said investigations revealed the suspect would approach victims by asking them to pick up items or assist him with booking an e-hailing ride. He would then hug them from behind and choke them if they resisted. 'When the victims were distracted, he would punch and drag them to a location where he allegedly attempted to commit sodomy. The suspect also reportedly followed the victims while looking for an opportunity to strike,' Mohd Iqbal added. The case is being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 and Section 377C of the Penal Code. — Bernama

Cops nab teacher after student claims she was molested

(Rawpixel pic) PETALING JAYA : A school teacher was arrested after he was alleged to have molested a 16-year-old female student with an intellectual disability in Rembau on May 5. Rembau police chief Hasani Hussain said the student, who is enrolled in the Integrated Special Education Programme (PPKI), lodged a report at 5.15pm yesterday, alleging she was molested by the 36-year-old male teacher, Bernama reported. Hasani added that the incident is believed to have occurred after the student had completed a cross-country run and was experiencing some pain in her leg. 'According to the student, the teacher massaged her legs, starting from the soles of her feet to her calves and then to her thighs. 'At this point, she said she felt the teacher had touched a sensitive area,' Hasani said in a statement today. He said the student initially confided in a friend and later informed another teacher about the incident on June 30. Hasani said police detained the suspect at around 10pm last night, adding that the man denied the allegations. 'The case is being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017,' he said.
