The Philadelphia Phillies are preparing for a challenging task. They will be playing the Atlanta Braves and their megastar, Ronald Acuna Jr., in a new series. The Phillies' recent winning streak was put to an end, and they now have to remain steadfast as Acuna Jr.
comes off a lengthy injury layoff. The team is banking on their three selected pitchers to enable them to take the series and stall the rise of the Braves' firepower.
Zack Wheeler
and
Cristopher Sanchez
to guide Phillies' battle
The Phillies are delegating three important pitchers to attempt and inhibit Ronald Acuna Jr. and the Braves' powerful lineup. Zack Wheeler and others will star in the series.
Wheeler has been extremely tough this season with a 6–1 record and a 2.42 ERA. Suarez is also performing well with a 3–0 record and a 3.70 ERA.
Sánchez carries a 4–1 record and a 3.17 ERA after 54 innings.
These pitchers will have to be in top form. Acuna has fared well against some of them previously. He has hit four home runs off Wheeler in 48 plate appearances.
Acuna has not been as good against Suarez, though, hitting a mere .214 across eight games. And while he has only seen Sánchez six times, he has already managed three hits, including a home run. The Phillies are employing primarily left-handed starters in hopes of making things more difficult for Acuna to become hot.

Ronald Acuna Jr. Smashes A Home Run In First Plate Appearance After Injury, Celebrates With Ja Morant Grenade
Ronald Acuna Jr. Returns with power and confidence
Ronald Acuna Jr. is back and playing like a star once more. Having missed almost a year due to a torn ACL, he homered twice in his first two games back.
One was a huge 467-foot homer. He also hit a 427-foot home run the next evening. The bat's speed and power are still intact, and he is energetic. Acuna stated that he is feeling good, and manager Brian Snitker concurs he changed his mind on giving Acuna a day off.
With Acuna batting well and leading off, the Braves lineup is more potent.
His teammate Matt Olson explained that Acuna was simply "born with" that type of ability. In 2023, Acuna had a season to recall with 40+ home runs and 70+ steals.
Now he appears ready to accomplish something extraordinary once more. Braves pitcher Grant Holmes also pitched well recently, going seven innings and allowing just one run. That provides the Braves even greater momentum as they face the Phillies.
The Phillies are facing a big test as they try to stop Ronald Acuna Jr. and the powerful Atlanta Braves. They are counting on three strong pitchers Wheeler, Suarez, and Sanchez to keep the Braves' bats quiet.
But Acuna Jr. is already showing MVP form just days after returning from injury. This series could be close, and it may come down to whether the Phillies' pitchers can hold off one of the best hitters in the league.

"Been a couple of months": Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers secretly got married—who's the mystery woman
Aaron Rodgers reveals that he has got married a few months back (Getty Images) Aaron Rodgers is married. He has always been one to keep his personal life under wraps, but his latest revelation has stunned NFL fans. During his first official appearance at the Pittsburgh Steelers' minicamp on Tuesday, the 41-year-old quarterback confirmed what many had been speculating for months—he's a married man. The veteran QB, who's gearing up for his debut season with the Steelers in 2025, casually dropped the bombshell while speaking to reporters. 'It's a wedding ring,' Rodgers stated when asked about the band on his left hand. 'It's been a couple of months.' Aaron Rodgers confirms he's married for 'few months' The announcement came just days after eagle-eyed fans noticed the black band during his contract signing with the Steelers. Although photos from the event had sparked a frenzy online, Rodgers had remained silent—until now. Yet, despite confirming his marital status, Rodgers kept the identity of his wife a mystery. Back in April, during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers hinted at personal matters influencing his decision-making during the offseason. 'People in my inner circle [were] battling difficult stuff,' he said, adding that he was in a 'serious relationship' at the time. That led many to wonder if wedding bells were part of those private matters. While Rodgers hasn't confirmed it, many believe the mystery woman could be 'Brittani'—a name he mentioned during a December 2024 episode of McAfee's show. He had described her as someone special, noting that she spelled her name with an 'I' and had no social media presence. When McAfee playfully prodded, Rodgers responded, 'It's a good feeling, boys. It is.' The timing of the nuptials remains vague, though it's believed the wedding took place between late December and early May. Rodgers was seen wearing the ring at the Kentucky Derby on May 3, providing a public clue that many overlooked at the time. Yet, the event remained so discreet that even those close to Rodgers were caught off guard. Throughout his career, the four-time MVP has had his name linked to a string of high-profile women—from actress Olivia Munn and NASCAR star Danica Patrick to actress Shailene Woodley, to whom he was briefly engaged. But with this quiet commitment, Rodgers seems intent on charting a different, more private path. As he prepares to lead the Steelers into a new era, all eyes will be on Rodgers—not just for his performance on the field, but for how he balances this new chapter of his personal life. The quarterback may be wearing one new ring now, but Pittsburgh fans are surely hoping he adds another by the end of the season—a Super Bowl ring. Lynx put undefeated record on line as they visit Storm
The Minnesota Lynx will attempt to keep their unbeaten start to the season going when they visit the Seattle Storm on Wednesday night. Minnesota and the New York Liberty were the only remaining undefeated WNBA teams entering Tuesday's slate of games. The Lynx and Liberty don't meet until July 30, then will play each other four times in a three-week span. Of course, Minnesota cannot look that far ahead as they travel to the Pacific Northwest. WNBA MVP candidate Napheesa Collier finished with 28 points on 10-for-19 shooting from the field and had 10 rebounds in Minnesota's 81-65 victory at the Dallas Wings on Sunday. She also had four assists, three steals, three blocked shots and nine pass deflections. "I'm just glad people are understanding Phee's greatness," Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said. "There's nothing else you can say about it at this point. At both ends of the floor. Just a complete player. Best player in the league." Seattle kept the game close in its last meeting with Minnesota on May 27 before succumbing 82-77. Gabby Williams led the Storm with 20 points and six assists in that game, during which Seattle trailed by just three points with 11 seconds left before Collier made two free throws to secure the victory. More recently, Williams had 21 points 18 in the first half and Skylar Diggins scored the most points of any Seattle player this season in the Storm's 89-77 win at the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday. Diggins made 8 of 18 shots from the field against Phoenix after scoring a combined 20 points on 8-of-22 shooting over the two previous games. "I was just wanting to come out and be aggressive," Diggins said. "I was just trying to stay in that mindset. I know I have the skill set to help my team and do what I need to do. It's just having the mindset to be aggressive." Minnesota's Kayla McBride has averaged 17.0 points and 4.0 assists per game in five games after not playing at the beginning of the season for personal reasons. Wednesday's game is part of the Commissioner's Cup. Seattle is 2-1, while Minnesota is 3-0 in that competition. Field Level Media

Aaron Rodgers' Steelers contract packed with big-time incentives: Here's how much he'll earn
Earlier this offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers were waiting on Aaron Rodgers. He went on the Pat McAfee Show and said money wasn't a problem. Now that he's officially signed with the Steelers, that seems true. NFL reporter Albert Breer shared the contract details. Rodgers signed a one-year deal worth $13.5 million. Of that, $10 million is guaranteed. He can make up to $19.5 million total if he hits certain goals. The extra money comes from incentives based on how much he plays, how well the team does, and any awards he might win. Here's the breakdown: $500,000 if the Steelers make the playoffs $600,000 for a wild-card win (or first-round bye), if Rodgers plays at least 50% of the game $750,000 for a divisional round win, with 50% play-time $1 million for winning the AFC title game, with 50% play-time $1.5 million for winning the Super Bowl, with 50% play-time $1.5 million if he wins the AP MVP award Altogether, Rodgers can make up to $5.85 million in bonuses for the 2025 season. Also Read: Aaron Rodgers to Steelers: When will star QB make his debut for Pittsburgh? If Rodgers leads the Steelers to a Super Bowl and wins MVP again, he gets paid, and the team wins big too. It's a good deal for both sides. Rodgers probably wants to do what Peyton Manning and Tom Brady did—win a Super Bowl with a second team. The Steelers want more success in the playoffs. If Rodgers even earns just the first $1.1 to $1.85 million in bonuses, it would still be a good sign for the team. Also, Rodgers will play against both of his old teams this season—the Jets and the Packers. And if the Steelers make it to the Super Bowl, it'll be played at Levi's Stadium in San Francisco, right in Rodgers' home state. That's the same team that passed on drafting him back in 2005.
