The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2025 inductees, which include hip-hop pioneers Outkast and '80s icon Cyndi Lauper.

Dave Mason is still dealing with serious health issues, leading him to cancel all tour dates this year.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and founding member of '60s prog-rock band Traffic, announced on June 3 that he's still battling an infection he contracted in March.
'I'm incredibly grateful to my team of doctors − this has been challenging territory, to say the least,' Mason wrote on Instagram, adding his thanks to fans for their support. 'Your kind messages have lifted my spirits more than words can express.'
Mason, 79, ended his note, 'Recovery is a long road. My love for you all runs deep.'
The musician, who released his memoir 'Only You Know & I Know' last fall, postponed his 2024 tour after a serious heart condition was discovered during a routine medical checkup.
In March, he released 'A Shade of Blues,' his 21st album, featuring appearances by Michael McDonald and Joe Bonamassa, but a spring tour to support it was also shelved.
Mason's upcoming shows included a summer run with Kansas and 38 Special as well as solo dates through August. All tickets will be refunded automatically at point of sale.

In addition to his guitar work with Traffic, Mason is regarded for playing with Jimi Hendrix, Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones as well as writing the soulful 'Feelin' Alright?,' which Joe Cocker popularized with a finger-snapping version in 1969. Mason's solo work includes the 1977 hit ballad 'We Just Disagree.'
Through the years, Mason battled addiction and endured bankruptcy, but told USA TODAY last year that he's tried to stay active and healthy.
'I eat, I sleep, I play. That's basically my life,' he said. 'Everything is great, other than just getting a little bit older.'

Rock band Heart offering reward for instruments stolen from New Jersey venue
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Two irreplaceable instruments owned by members of the rock band Heart were stolen from a venue in New Jersey last weekend as the group prepared to launch a nationwide tour, and the musicians are now offering a reward for information leading to their return. The band was set to kick off the An Evening With Heart tour at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City on Saturday, and its gear had been set up there the day prior to the show. Among the items stolen were a custom-built, purple sparkle baritone Telecaster guitar with a hand-painted headstock made for band member Nancy Wilson, and a vintage 1966 Gibson EM-50 mandolin that band member Paul Moak has played for over 25 years. 'These instruments are more than just tools of our trade — they're extensions of our musical souls,' Nancy Wilson said in a statement issued by the group. 'We're heartbroken, and we're asking for their safe return— no questions asked. Their value to us is immeasurable.' Heart is led by Wilson and her sister, Ann, who have made music together since the '70s and have had hits like 'Magic Man,' 'Crazy on You' and 'Alone.' The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers were honored with a lifetime achievement award from the Recording Academy in 2023.

AC/DC's Smashes Are Uniformly Soaring

Fellow time-tested winners "Back in Black," "Highway to Hell," and "You Shook Me All Night Long" also climb ever so slightly, appearing this frame at Nos. 21, 24, and 34, respectively. Among that bunch, the least successful track is "You Shook Me All Night Long," which is still regarded as a generation-defining win. The tune is the only one of the four that has yet to reach No. 1, as it has thus far stalled in the runner-up spot. It has also spent the least amount of time on the tally, with just 457 frames to its credit. That sum would be historic for almost any other act, but when it comes to AC/DC, the other three charting successes on the Official Rock & Metal Singles list have all passed 600 frames. "Thunderstruck" is the only one of AC/DC's songs that manages to appear on more than one tally this week. As it climbs on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart, it also advances on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads lists, coming in at Nos. 66 and 62, respectively. In both instances, sales increased so much that "Thunderstruck" was able to push forward by more than 10 spots.
