Chelsea opponents Djurgarden in chaos as chairman QUITS over racism scandal 48 hours before Conference League clash
Lars-Erik Sjoberg is at the centre of an investigation by Swedish newspaper Expressen which claims he shared Xenophobic material on social media.
1
He has been in charge for more than a decade and has left on the eve of the biggest game in his club's history as they prepare to take on the two-time European Champions.
Sjoberg insists he is not the author of the alleged right-wing views.
He said: "When I speak out for Djurgården Football, I do so in Djurgården's channels, or directly with journalists who have approached me for the role of representative of Djurgården Football.
"I publish very little on social media myself, and when I do, it is usually of a family nature.
"However, I follow many accounts on different social media - from different political sides, from different religious views, and from different positions in society.
"I share/like some of what I see in my feed, but I almost never write anything of my own."
Djurgarden face Chelsea in the first leg of their Conference League semi-final tomorrow with the return at Stamford Bridge next Thursday.
The game has already been marked by some of the home players labelling their own artificial pitch 's****y'.
Thursday's clash is Chelsea's first European semi-final since 2021.
Midfielder Moises Caicedo said: "We know that every game is tough.
"So we will head into it with the mentality that the opposition will be very tough, but with the desire we have of wanting to win the game.
"We will do everything in this game, everything.
"We know that they will be very tough opposition, especially at their ground.
"So, we have to do things well, play our game, and I'm sure we'll be able to bring home a win."
Chelsea player ratings vs Everton
By Lloyd Canfield
ENZO MARESCA watched on from the stands as Chelsea stole a 1-0 win at home to Everton.
The game was shocked into life after 26 minutes when good pressure from the home side saw Nicolas Jackson take the ball on the turn and rifle it into the back of Jordan Pickford's net, his first goal since returning from injury.
It was by no means easy after they grabbed the opener though, as the Blues dominated possession but failed to add more goals to their tally.
So who was to blame for another lethargic display? Did Cole Palmer finally show signs of improvement?
Check out our Chelsea player ratings.
Djurgården have made a slow start to the new Allsvenskan season.
After five consecutive top-four finishes, the club are currently 11th with 7 points from a possible 15.
The Swedish side saw off Rapid Vienna in the quarterfinals and Cyprus' Pafos in the round of 16.

After a four-minute cameo against Norrkoping, Erabi once again played a role from the bench for his current employers, playing 18 minutes of his side's defeat to GAIS. "It's not fun," he told SportBladet. "I want to play. Like every single player out there, I want to start every game. "I'm at an age where I want to and can play as many games as I want. For all the young players who want to step out in Europe, it's a game every third day, like. Article continues below "I want to play as many minutes as I can, then it's the coach's decision to start me or not." HIs comments come after sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg confirmed interest from the Swans, amid suggestions City have already had two bids knocked back already. Fotbollskanalen now report the Swedish club have rejected their second offer, adding there are now no ongoing negotiations with the Swans. 'We have been in contact with Swansea. We have been. To be completely honest, I don't know. There is no ongoing discussion now, in any case,' he said. 'We have been in contact with a few different clubs who have asked questions and consulted, and so on. Then we will see what happens, but I feel that he has his head in place and is fully focused. 'Then we will have to deal with it if something concrete comes up that we can decide on.' Cabango enjoying buzz around Swans Swansea City captain Ben Cabango says the involvement of Luka Modric and Snoop Dogg has generated a level of excitement not seen at the club for some time. "This is the most buzz we've had around Swansea for a long time," said Cabango. "There's a bit of expectation on us now, which is really good. "Hopefully we can make good things out of this season. Everyone's positive around this place." Cabango played his part in an impressive 1-0 win over over Sheffield United at the weekend, and says City's home form is likely to be key to any success this term. "Our home games we've had since Alan has been in charge... six wins and one draw in the eight games," he added. "It's been solid defensively and we're always looking like we're going to score. "It's obviously a good balance and we're always on the front foot, aggressive and I bet we're a hard team to play against." Ronald keen to repay faith Ronald says he's eager to repay the faith shown in him by Swansea City head coach Alan Sheehan by maintaining his recent standard of performances. The Brazilian winger netted his second goal in as many outings in all competitions on Saturday, scoring the decisive goal in the 1-0 victory over Sheffield United. And the 24-year-old says he's delighted to have started the season with such a strong run. 'I'm very happy to have scored two goals in a week,' he told the club's official website. 'I hope I can help contribute towards more victories for Swansea, the importance of this one was great because we knew how important it was to start to try and build momentum. Sign up to the Swansea City WhatsApp service to get breaking news and top stories sent to your phone. 'We want to continue to be on the front foot and I am happy to have started the season well. 'Alan is a coach who always talks to me and supports me, he gives me advice on the positions I need to get into and I am happy to be scoring goals to help the team. Article continues below 'To celebrate with the fans at the end was great, I know they have a lot of affection for me, every game they shout my name and I am really glad to give them a moment to make them happy, and I hope there are more to come.'

David Martindale shares how Hibs 'crucified' Livingston at Almondvale as rotated cast dish out timely lesson

Livingston manager David Martindale made a frank admission after Hibs eased to a comfortable win over his side in Sunday's Premier Sports Cup second round tie. David Gray opted to shuffle his pack as he looks to cope with the demands placed upon his squad by their European exploits and that meant the likes of Raphael Sallinger, Grant Hanley and Thibault Klidje were all handed starts after being named as substitutes for Thursday's UEFA Conference League meeting with Partizan. It was the latter of that trio that opened the scoring at Almondvale just two minutes before half-time and summer signing Josh Mulligan settled the contest in the closing stages. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The win means Hibs will joined the likes of Aberdeen, Rangers and Celtic in the quarter-final of the competition and now sit just two wins away from a potential Hampden Park final. It also rounded off a positive few days for Gray and his player after they progressed into the play-off round of the Conference League after coming through what was a dramatic tie against Partizan despite suffering a 3-2 defeat in Thursday night's second leg. For Livi boss Martindale, there were no complaints about the defeat as he admitted Hibs deserved their win and praised Gray's men for 'flying' after a promising start to the season. Speaking after the game, he said: 'I don't think we deserved to go through, Hibs deserved it. We lost a poor goal just before half-time but I don't think there was much in the game until then. Hibs are flying and against top six teams you get crucified, that's what happens against the bigger clubs. Second half we changed shape and it helped us, we looked like we might get the next goal. But Mulligan came up with an incredible goal and then the game ran away from us.' What has David Gray said about Hibs Premier Sports Cup win at Livingston? Hibernian head coach David Gray | SNS Group 'Everyone was of a very high standard, which was to the benefit of the group. I thought it was a very professional performance, we had good control of the game and deserved to go through. I'm delighted for the players because before the game we knew people would be looking at this asking how we'd cope with another game in Europe, extra-time, coming to Livingston on an artificial pitch, and the mental fatigue because of the schedule we've been on. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'I thought it was a brilliant performance from that point of view. We were able to make changes and the level of performance didn't drop, so it was really good day's work from everyone. We knew this schedule was coming so had to be prepared for it, so that's why you have a squad.
