Sweet Caroline voted Britain's favourite singalong track
Neil Diamond's iconic Sweet Caroline has been voted Britain's favourite song to belt out with friends, family and even complete strangers, according to new research.
The famous 1969 track picked up an overwhelming 41% of the vote according to the poll of 2,000 music-loving Brits, with ABBA's Dancing Queen (28%) and Robbie Williams' Angels (25%) placing second and third.
Also on the list of the nation's favourite singalong tracks was Livin' On A Prayer by Bon Jovi (24%), I'm Still Standing by Elton John (24%), Someone Like You by Adele (21%) and Wonderwall by Oasis (19%).
One in six (17%) say nothing beats belting out Come On Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners, while 16% love to sing-along to Mr. Brightside by The Killers.
Other tunes to make our hearts sing include Umbrella by Rihanna (13%), Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon (12%) and Shake It Off by Taylor Swift (11%).
In fact, the research by menthol lozenge brand, Jakemans, found that as a nation we love singing so much that 80 per cent think it has a positive impact on their well-being, with 45 per cent admitting that music moves them deeply and 38 per cent saying that it can give them goosebumps.
In the shower (45%), cooking in the kitchen (36%), on your commute or in the car (35%), while listening to the radio (33%) and watching TV at home (28%) are the main places that Brits let their singing voices loose, while one in five (16%) can often be found belting out a tune at work.
Four in ten (37%) think they have a good singing voice, with almost half (48%) admitting that they listen to singers and think they could do a much better job. A confident sixth (17%) even go so far as to say they could have made it as a pop singer.
And according to the study, six in ten (57%) say there's nothing better than showing off their singing skills by coming together as a group to sing, with one in four (25%) saying it uplifts them. 22% feel empowered singing as one, while 18 per cent love the camaraderie.
Jakemans spokesperson and celebrity vocal coach, Annabel Williams, said: 'A great sing-along song has that magic mix of a catchy melody and feel-good lyrics that you just can't help but belt out. But it's more than that, singing together actually releases feel-good hormones like oxytocin and endorphins, which boost happiness and bring people closer together. That's why we can feel so marvellous after singing the classics like Sweet Caroline and Don't Stop Believin' with a group.'
As a result, this summer 26% are planning to belt out a tune on a family holiday, 21% will be singing along at a concert, 18% will put their singing voice to good use at a sporting event and 18% will be testing their vocal cords at music festivals.
Despite planning to flex our vocal cords, two thirds (65%) admit they aren't planning to prepare their throats for action as it isn't something they've thought about (23%), and they believe their voice will recover naturally (23%).
It's no surprise then that half (50%) have suffered from a sore throat after singing, with 60% having to stop singing altogether due to a strained throat.
Williams added: 'Making sure that you're looking after your voice whilst singing is really important, so you don't do any damage to your vocal cords. Whether you're warming up for a stage performance or belting out your favourite tunes at home, you need to be giving those vocal cords some TLC.'
Jakemans' Elizabeth Hughes-Gapper, Brand Manager said: 'This research shows how much we as a nation love singing out loud, and the positive impact that it has on our well-being. Whether, like me, you're part of the 36% who love belting out tunes in the kitchen, or hoping to sing along to your favourite artists at a concert this summer, don't let anything hold back your voice.'

Robbie Williams at London's Emirates Stadium: start time, tickets, potential setlist and what you need to know
It's nearly time for you to let Robbie Williams entertain you, in front of a crowd of 60,000 like-minded fans. After a couple of years away from the stage, you can expect big things from this ex-Take That star turned, well, chimpanzee? Following the warm reception of his uniquely anthropomorphic biopic ' Better Man ', Robbie is finally back to doing what he does best: acting up in front of thousands of people. The Britpop tour, named after his upcoming album of the same name, is set to be a romp through his greatest hits, with a bit of Sinatra thrown in for good measure. Here's everything you need to know about Robbie Williams two nights at the Emirates Stadium to ensure you leave thinking 'I Love My Life'. When is Robbie Williams playing Emirates Stadium? Robbie is doing two nights at the Arsenal ground. He'll be playing tomorrow, June 6, and Saturday, June 7. After that, he's heading up north to Manchester before finishing off the UK leg in Bath. What time do doors open? Doors for Robbie Williams' gig tonight will open at 5pm, with the first support act expected to take to the stage at 6pm. What time will Robbie Williams come on stage? It's not been officially stated when you can expect Robbie to make his grand entrance, but based on timings at Murrayfield the other night, the main show will likely begin at around 8:30pm. It's worth being seated, or standing, well before that though, in case timings change or you want to grab a drink. What's the seating plan? If you're wondering where you'll be sitting, you can see the stadium layout below. If you're wondering what your view will be like, you can use the Emirates stadium's 'virtual venue' here to get a sneak peak. Who's supporting Robbie Williams? For his shows in the capital, Robbie will be supported by Manchester band The Lottery Winners, and chart-topping baritone Rag 'n' Bone Man. It's not certain exactly when the support acts will take the stage, but based on the Edinburgh show, it's likely that the Lottery Winners will start sometime around 6pm, and then Rag 'n' Bone Man just after 7pm. Robbie Williams setlist Robbie has only played one night of the Britpop tour so far, so we have a general idea of the songs he's likely to play, but nothing is certain. There is always a chance he'll change things up every night, but don't worry; we're confident he'll always do angels. Here's what the setlist was for the Edinburgh show, including a slightly random medley. If there's one thing Robbie Williams is going to do, it's keep us on our toes. Rocket Let Me Entertain You All My Life / Song 2 / Seven Nation Army / Rim Tim Tagi Dim / I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) / Minnie the Moocher (The Ho De Ho Song) / Livin' On A Prayer (Singalong Medley) Monsoon Old Before I Die Rock DJ Love My Life Strong The Road to Mandalay Supreme Let Love Be Your Energy / Sexed Up / Candy (with The Lottery Winners) Relight My Fire Something Beautiful Play Video Main Stage Millennium Come Undone Kids She's the One My Way Encore Feel Angels Can you still get tickets? There are still a few tickets left to see Robbie Williams tomorrow and Saturday, starting from £66. The majority of the tickets left, however, are standing, which are a little pricier. General admission starts from £104, while front standing will set you back £220. If you think Robbie's worth it, you can bag your tickets from Ticketmaster here. What's Emirates Stadium's bag policy? Like most stadiums, Emirates only allows bags that are smaller than an A4 sheet of paper. Anything else will either be confiscated, or you will be turned away. In general, the venue advises against bringing a bag if at all possible, and there is no cloakroom to store them in. Banned items 'Do not bring your explosives to the Robbie Williams concert' is a sentence which probably goes without saying, but it's always good to be clear on these things. As well as the obvious (knives, weapons, fireworks and flares, and gas canisters will not be permitted), you are not allowed to bring in any of your own food or drink, except in a soft, 500ml plastic bottle. This includes flasks of hot liquid. Additionally, glass bottles of any kind, including small perfume bottles and similar, are banned. If you're unsure about an item, it's best to leave it at home. If you're unsure but really want to bring it, check here for the full list of prohibited items. Weather forecast The weather for this weekend is looking quite changeable, but showers are set to dry up by 7pm on Friday. On Saturday however, it's looking a bit wetter, so you might want to invest in a poncho. Temperatures will peak at 16 C during the gig on both days, so at least you won't be that cold.

Read below to see if your favourite snack makes the list EAT UP Fish and chips, cream tea and hot doughnuts voted the most popular treats for Brits on holiday Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A COASTAL town was treated to free chips with a twist - the chippy was powered by an electric car. In the aptly named Kent town of Deal, National Fish and Chip Day was celebrated with 300 portions of chips given away, as well as a limited run of battered fish. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 The chippy was fronted by two electric cars and fronted by TikTok's 'Chip Shop Diva But it wasn't your ordinary chip shop, with the chippy being powered by two electric cars and fronted by TikTok's 'Chip Shop Diva', Destiny Harold. The Dacia Spring, which its makers say is the cheapest electric vehicle currently on the market, was the power behind the frying, in partnership with local chippy, The Blue Mermaid Fish Bar. It comes after a poll of 2,000 adults found fish and chips is the most popular treat on a British holiday, as well as cream tea and hot doughnuts. Others to feature in the top 20 list include Mr Whippy ice cream, Cornish pasties and mussels. Quintessentially British foods, such as fish finger sandwiches, strawberries and cream and a pie and mash also featured in the ranking. A spokesperson for car brand Dacia said: 'It was fun treating passers-by today and showing the power of our electric car, Spring, using its vehicle to load technology, which allows you to power external devices off the car's battery. 'It's no surprise we have a national day dedicated to the iconic meal that is fish and chips and the study shows just how much we love it and associate it with holidays by the seaside. 'Playing on the phrase 'cheap as chips' in line with our affordable car and being in the appropriately named Deal, was a great way to celebrate National Fish and Chip Day.' The research also found 41% of adults describe such foods as nostalgic, while 45% feel satisfied after eating them. When ordering a classic fish and chips, cod (48%) and haddock (19%) were the most popular choices, but 69% simply order a portion of chips. It also emerged 44% believe fish and chips is the 'food of the people' and 39% said class doesn't impact how people eat it. While 46% feel there is something nostalgic about eating the British staple with a wooden fork, which 33% typically do, although 38% opt to eat it by hand. Food psychologist, James Cornish, said: 'There are few things that unite the British public quite like fish and chips. 'Golden, salty, comforting, and steeped in history, this timeless dish is more than a meal - it's a national treasure. 'Loved across generations, social classes, and regions, it's one of those rare things that truly brings us together. 'There's a certain kind of magic in fish and chips - a simple meal that somehow carries the weight of memory, comfort, and delight. 'Maybe it's because we don't expect too much from humble food, but our delight is excelled through the delivering of more than we expected.'

Ryanair passenger uses 'genius' hack to get 20kg of luggage free on board
A Ryanair passenger has gone viral on TikTok after finding a 'wild' hack to get 20kg worth of luggage on board without having to pay for an extra bag - but not everyone's a fan Ryanair 's cabin bag fees are infamous; passengers are allowed one small bag in the cabin for free, but if you want a second bag you'll need to pay extra. However, one passenger has gone viral after using a 'wild' hack to get around the rules and bring 20kg of luggage on board without needing to pay extra. Rob Adcock, a presenter from Stoke-on-Trent, is known for his budget-friendly travel tips and advice. In a recent video, which has since been viewed 2.4million times, he revealed that he paid £15 for his Ryanair flight, and then got his bag in for free. The trick? Using a vacuum pack machine to compress his clothes. In the video he can be seen lifting the bag of compressed garments, and chuckling before exclaiming, "Look at it!". He then places several of these parcels into his backpack, the free one that's included in his ticket, and then boards the flight. He quipped in the caption: "POV: You've vacuum packed all your suitcase to fit into a free Ryanair bag so you don't have to pay to hold luggage." In the comments section, people seemed a little divided. The majority praised the hack and joked around the fact that it was swerving those pesky fees, but others pointed out that the backpack would be fairly uncomfortable. "Vacuum packed stuff is HEAVY," one person commented with two laughing emojis. Another remarked: "But then all my clothes are creased." Meanwhile others warned they'd seen similar behaviours on their flight, but that those travellers "got caught" and "it didn't end well". (We suspect they would have been hit with some hefty extra charges). One holidaymaker asked a fair question: "How are you supposed to vacuum it back up before going back on the plane when going home?". It's not the first time that a holidaymaker has tried to find a way around Ryanair's hand luggage rules. In recent years, plenty of travellers have tried tricks such as wearing all of their clothes in one go (a move that Joey Tribbiani would approve of no doubt), or even attempting to put their belongings in a pillowcase, to pass it off as a pillow and therefore not include it as a piece of hand luggage. However, proceed with caution; airline staff are wise to all of these tricks and while you may get lucky and face a member of staff who's happy to turn a blind eye, if you get caught out you could end up having to pay on-the-spot charges for bags which could cost more than what it would have cost to add a bag onto your booking originally. There is a silver lining for families though, as a Ryanair rule change lets you bring 50% more luggage with one special bag, although it's worth noting that this won't count as free hand luggage if you've already got a bag with you, as per the usual rules. In the meantime, Brits heading to the airport with laptops and phones should also make sure they're checking their gadgets, as one simple mistake could mean you get turned away at airport security, ending your holiday before it's even started!
