When "Just for Fun" Meets AI Tech: Singapore Tourism Board and Mafengwo Explore New Ways to Travel in the Future

SINGAPORE, June 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- On June 10th, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Mafengwo jointly hosted the "#AnywayIt'sFun Inspiration Renewal Journey" event in Beijing. Centered around the themes of "contrast, novelty, and social connection," the event showcased the diverse charm of Singapore travel through an immersive Nanyang-style experience, a friendly roundtable discussion, and stories shared by travel influencers. Mafengwo unveiled its latest AI-powered cultural and creative product, powered by its self-developed AI model for travel industry, offering tourists a glimpse into the future of "smart travel." In recent years, Chinese travelers have increasingly sought deeper, more personalized travel experiences rather than chasing popular attractions. According to user data from Mafengwo's "AI Travel Assistant for Singapore", travelers' preferences to Singapore are becoming more nuanced and segmented. Families with children care about "queue times at attractions" and "stroller rentals," young travelers seek out "trendy cafés" and "Peranakan culture check-ins," while seniors prioritize "barrier-free facilities." "To meet these needs, Singapore has introduced five themed travel profiles," explained Mr. Andrew Phua, STB's Chief Representative and Executive Director of Greater China, during the roundtable. "Health-conscious travelers can explore Sentosa's rainforest ecosystem through immersive guided tours. Food lovers may try the uniquely flavored coffee pork ribs. Urban explorers can marvel at prehistoric wonders at the new Jurassic World: The Exhibition at Gardens by the Bay. Experience-seekers can feel the pulse of Formula 1 and enjoy live performances at the Singapore Grand Prix. Meanwhile, senior travelers may enjoy the tranquility and joy of traditional embroidery workshops. By combining AI technology with tourism products, we can provid endless possibilities aligned with the "Just for Fun" spirit. " "AI travel assistants—whether in the form of digital itineraries or creative cultural products—are more than tools. They are triggers for travel inspiration," said Chen Gang, CEO of Mafengwo. He elaborated on how AI is reshaping travel in the era of hyper-independent travel and introduced "AI XiaoXinxin," an AI assistant in plush doll form. It could seamlessly answer Singapore-related travel questions from both the host and guests, while also acting as a fun companion for photos and emotional support on trips. The AI Travel Itinerary tool ("AI Roadbook") offers exhaustive pre-trip planning support. Chen Gang demonstrated when prompted with "a 5-day in-depth cultural trip with parents," the system generated a thoughtfully balanced itinerary including Chinese heritage tours in Chinatown, local coffee culture, traditional crafts, and old-school cafés. Each section comes with budget allocations from economical to premium tiers. Especially for senior travelers, it introduces features like Singapore's "Green Man+" system and Silver Zones—facilities designed to enhance elderly convenience—thus easing planning anxiety. "Additionally, the newly launched real-time translation tool by AI Xiaoma eliminates the hassle of typing; users can simply press and speak into two microphones alternately on the same screen for seamless multilingual interaction." Two Mafengwo's influencers (Feng Shou) shared what "Just for Fun" means to them in Singapore. Geotechnical engineer and super dad Ren Yuan Tai Shan reflected on how he once fixated on rigid itineraries, but now treasures spontaneous moments—like chatting with local elders while enjoying fish ball noodles with his child near HDB flats. Meanwhile, first-time visitor and ski coach Yi Yun looked forward to zoning out, sipping Kopi, and strolling around the vibrant, sun-soaked streets, hoping to stumble upon delightful surprises. Beyond savoring local dishes at the Peranakan Flavor Remix Booth and creating handmade crafts at the Nanyang Mini Workshop, the appearance of the AI-powered "Xiaoma Robot" dressed in Singapore-themed outfits brought the event to a peak. Like travelers just back from Singapore, these robots offered guests a quirky, smart, and whimsical travel encounter. As long-term strategic partners, STB and Mafengwo have previously precisely reached family and young traveler segments through campaigns like "The Best Summer Homework" and "Jackson Wang's Itinerary," pioneering the integration of the latest technology into travel as the first overseas destination AI partner. The launch of this AI travel companion marks a significant transition in their collaboration from "content marketing" to " intelligent services." It is understood that both parties will continue to upgrade the AI companion's features to empower the "Just for Fun" philosophy, enabling travelers to enjoy both meticulous planning and unexpected discoveries around every corner in their Singapore journey. Parachute's Turkish Cotton Towels Are Now As Low As $8

If you don't own plush spa towels, you might be convinced you don't need them. But they can be a gamechanger in your daily life (after all, you use towels multiple times a day), so when we see a great sale, we shout it out. That's why we're thrilled about Parachute's classic Turkish cotton towels being 40% off today, with prices as low as $8. You know Parachute: The home brand is known for their luxury linens and 'cloud-like bedding,' in addition to plush bath towels that reviewers say stand the test of time and turn them into towel snobs. Their Turkish cotton towels are popular, with 4.4 stars across over 2,200 reviews, and a sale like 40% off doesn't come around often, so you'll want to jump on this one while you are sold individually, and you can choose between a washcloth (12-by-12 inches), hand towel (30-by-20), bath towel (56-by-30), and bath sheet (70-by-40). Select colors are on sale, including moss, haze, mineral, and stone (all earthy, neutral tones that can work in a variety of different bathrooms). Each towel is made with 100% long-staple Turkish cotton, is Oeko-Tex certified, and has a ribbed dobby design (meaning they have a decorative woven element that's distinct from the texture of the rest of the towel). They're plush and soft while still being effectively absorbent, and are machine-washable for easy care (Parachute has a whole washing and drying guide to help you ensure your towels last as long as possible).Reviewers can't get enough of how soft and high-quality these towels are. 'If I had to describe these towels in one word: LUXURIOUS. Hands down the nicest towels I've ever owned,' one reviewer wrote. 'My bathroom looks and feels like a spa, which is exactly what I was going for.'They've also gotten rave reviews for their absorbency, how they retain their softness after washing, and their quickness to dry. 'Best towels ever, and I should know…I've seriously tried every towel out there, and these are by far the best,' another shopper person, echoing multiple other comments, wrote, 'My only complaint is they sold out of them before I could order two more.' That should motivate you to take advantage of this sale ASAP — after all, you never know when it could disappear. So go ahead and add these to your cart while there's still inventory, or keep scrolling for even more promising reviews. Promising reviews: 'These towels are ridiculously soft. I didn't think I was a towel snob … but apparently I am. Love these!' —Lauren S.'First time purchasing these towels. I have wanted to try luxury towels for a few years and have recently been very impressed with Parachute's sheets. We are big on Restoration Hardware stuff, but Parachute's sheets AND towels, by far, are so much more comfortable and higher quality. We purchased both Parachute and RH Turkish towels recently, and we are not impressed with RH compared to Parachute's quality. I'm going on a little over a week using Parachute's, and these towels continually remain very soft day after day. No other towel like it; worth the investment!' —Will M'This is the second set of towels I've purchased from Parachute. The quality is excellent and worth paying a little extra for. They're soft, absorbent, and hold up well over several years of daily use.' —Sheri'When we were looking to purchase new towels for our master bathroom, I thought I'd try Parachute's towels. These are by far the best towels I've ever purchased. I look for absorbency as well as softness for comfort. I purchased in two colors that look fantastic in our new bathroom.' —Lisa B.'I was led to Parachute by online news articles. Bought a stack that matched my decor better than expected. But the feel of them fresh out of taking a shower is almost like some big fluffy fur. I love it. It handles moisture easily and looks great. But it's the FEEL on your body that adds an extra minute or two when drying off. Who knew? Well, now I do.' —Anonymous Get them from Parachute for $8+ (originally $14+; available in a variety of sizes, styles, and colors).

Regent Seven Seas Cruises Just Unveiled the Largest All-inclusive Luxury Cruise Ship Suite in History—Starting at $25,000 Per Night

Regent Seven Seas Cruises is launching its newest ship, , in 2026 and gave an exclusive first look at the renderings of its Skyview Regent Suite, which it says is the 'largest all-inclusive, ultra-luxury cruise ship suite in history."There are luxury cruise ships, and then there's the 822-passenger Seven Seas Prestige—the most recent addition to Regent Seven Seas' fleet. Last month, Travel + Leisure got an inside look at the new ship and its Renaissance-inspired interiors, but today, the cruise line unveiled one of the most exciting features of the vessel: the Skyview Regent Suite. Billed as the 'largest all-inclusive, ultra-luxury cruise ship suite in history,' the 8,794-square-foot, two-level suite is a far cry from the small, slightly cramped rooms most people associate with this type of travel. The palatial accommodations fit up to six guests, and anyone willing to pay the staggering $25,000 per night rate will get to take advantage of all of the perks that come with the booking—including a personal butler, daily spa treatments, private fitness sessions, and access to a private car and driver at each port. And while the ship will dock at some of the most incredible places around the world—the maiden voyage will sail from Barcelona on Dec. 13, 2026, calling on Málaga, Spain; Madeira, Portugal; and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands before arriving in Miami—there's hardly a reason to leave the suite. Along with 3,703 square feet of wraparound balcony space, there's a personal gym, massage room, formal dining area, and all the panoramic ocean views you could ever need. On the main level, you'll enter via the grand foyer and transition into the reception area (complete with a floating natural stone staircase and an in-suite elevator) before discovering the dining area with a library-style seating nook, bar, living room, and secondary full guest suite. Upon ascending to the upper level, you'll enter the main suite—an ultra-luxe space with a sitting area, ocean-facing bed, and spacious walk-in closet. The real highlight of the bedroom, though, just might be its spa-inspired bathroom, designed with a floating tub, sauna, walk-in shower, and twin vanities. 'In the Skyview Regent Suite, we aimed to capture the essence of modern Italian design, combining clean, elegant lines with exquisite craftsmanship to create a truly unforgettable experience,' Elias Sol, a senior associate at Studio DADO, said in a press release shared with T+L. The design elements are complemented by a range of thoughtful, high-end amenities—from a curated pillow and linen menu and personalized stationery to in-suite caviar service and a welcome bottle of Dom Pérignon Champagne and Remy Martin Louis XIII Cognac. Even if you don't snag the ship's highly coveted suite, there's still a chance to experience the other privileges and activities the Seven Seas Prestige provides its passengers. All guests will enjoy unlimited shore excursions, 11 different dining experiences, wines and spirits, high-speed Wi-Fi, various entertainment, laundry, and pre-paid gratuities. 'As Seven Seas Prestige sets sail on her inaugural season in December 2026, visiting the Caribbean and Europe's most iconic destinations, the ship's 12 suite categories, including the Skyview Regent Suite, will offer our discerning guests a once-in-a-lifetime way to experience the world—with all the comfort, elegance, and heartfelt hospitality that defines Regent,' Jason Montague, chief luxury officer for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, shared in the press release.
