WWE legend Jimmy Hart has finally lifted the curtain on a long-standing secret about one of wrestling's most famous entrance themes. In a recent video posted on WWE's official YouTube channel, The Vault, Hart revealed that he actually sang the female vocals on Shawn Michaels' iconic song, 'Sexy Boy.
'
The theme, which has been synonymous with Michaels for over three decades, was originally sung by Sensational Sherri, Michaels' manager during the early 1990s. When Sherri took a break from WWE, Hart stepped in to record the female parts, layering his voice multiple times to create the effect of several women singing backup.
Jimmy Hart ranks his 5 favorite WWE entrance songs
'Shawn loved the song. Shawn sang the song too. But when Sherri was away, I sang the backup vocals, and we doubled it five times to make it sound like three or four girls going, 'sexy boy,'' Hart explained.
This revelation gives fans a fascinating glimpse into the creative process behind one of WWE's longest-running and most recognizable theme songs.
Shawn Michaels inspires a new generation of wrestlers
Beyond his iconic music, Shawn Michaels continues to be a significant influence on the wrestling world. Current WWE superstar Seth Rollins recently credited Michaels as a key inspiration in his journey to becoming a professional wrestler.
Rollins shared that while he was initially drawn to the sport by the larger-than-life presence of Hulk Hogan, it was watching performers like Michaels and Bret Hart that made him realize he could succeed in the business without having to be a giant.
'Shawn Michaels is the guy,' Rollins said, emphasizing how Michaels' style and charisma made wrestling feel accessible to him.

In addition to discussing his past, Michaels has also shared his thoughts on John Cena's ongoing retirement tour. As a WWE Hall of Famer and Senior Vice President of Talent Development, Michaels respects Cena's decision to choose his final opponents and appreciates the chance to watch Cena's farewell run.
'He's earned the right to call those shots,' Michaels said in a recent podcast appearance. 'I'm just a fan now, enjoying what John's doing.'
Michaels himself remains confident that many of his own legendary matches, including his famous bouts with The Undertaker, deserve recognition in the
WWE Hall of Fame
's 'Immortal Moments' category. With only two Hall of Fame rings so far, Michaels joked that he has plenty of room for more honors in the future.
