Cleethorpes Douglas Road bins 'not emptied for weeks'
Sidney Sussex ward councillor Sophia Farren is supporting residents who want something to be done about the parking issue.She said: "We're focusing on this one street."We do need to have some consultative work done in our communities to find out how we can alleviate this parking problem and sort this issue out." Farren said she was concerned the issue was a consequence of overdevelopment and unsuitable properties transforming into houses of multiple occupation (HMOs).Another resident, Robert Palmer, said: "Some of the houses are being turned into HMOs. Where are all the cars going to go? "It's going to get worse unless something is done about it."The council said it had written to residents in December and would be writing to them again regarding the problem of parked vehicles on the corner of Douglas Road and Laurier Street.The authority added: "We are currently considering installation of enforceable parking restrictions on this corner to assist, but this will need to go through the legal process in the coming months."In the meantime, we request that residents do not park on the corner of the street on collection days so that we can access the street and collect their waste and recycling."

M25 and M26 closed in both directions over ‘police-led incident' as drivers face long delays
DRIVERS have been warned of traffic chaos as both the M25 and M26 have been shut down after a "police-led incident". The M25 has been closed anti-clockwise between Junction 6, at Godstone, and J5, at Sevenoaks. National Highways confirmed Surrey Police are still at the scene. Inrix reported: "All traffic being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to accident on M6 Northbound at J10 A454 Black Country Route (Wolverhampton / Walsall). "Queueing traffic due to earlier accident on M6 Northbound from J11 A460 (Cannock) to J12 A5 Watling Street (Gailey). "Delays on M6 Southbound before J8 M5 coming from the M54. M25 partially closed following police incident
A section of the M25 has closed, according to National Highways. The government agency said the motorway was closed in both directions between junction five for Sevenoaks in Kent and junction six for Godstone in Surrey. Delays are also being reported on the M25 clockwise before the A21 at junction five in Kent. Surrey Police were on the scene, National Highways said. Sunderland Nissan supplier exploring wind turbine plan
