A MAN who died after a horror crash involving a car and an ambulance has been named by police.
Alistair J Stewart, 36, tragically passed away after the fatal collision on the A98 yesterday.

Emergency services raced to the scene at Arradoul, near Buckie, early in the morning.
The alarm was raised at around 6.50am after police received reports of the horror crash.
Alistair, from Arradoul, was driving a blue Renault Megane when it collided when it was involved in a collision with the ambulance.
Mercy crews rushed to Alistair's aid, but tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two male paramedics and the male patient from the ambulance were rushed to Dr Gray's Hospital and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Hospital.
Luckily, none of their injuries is thought to be serious.
Cops locked down the road all day yesterday to allow collision investigators to conduct enquiries at the scene.
A photo of Alistair has been released by police today as a probe into his death continues.
In a statement through Police Scotland, his heartbroken loved ones described him as being a "much loved" member of the family who will "be sorely missed by us all'.
They said: "He was a welder at Forsyths Buckie, he was born in Inverness in November 1988 and then brought up in Ardersier and attended Culloden Academy.

"He attended Global Highland Skills Academy to be trained as a welder.
'He married Mikaela in July 2022 following an 11-year relationship and became a stepdad to Grace and Leon and Grandad to baby Finn.
"He was a loving husband. Alistair was a beloved son to Grace and Neil Stewart, of Ardersier.
"He is a much loved brother to Mhairi and Alan, and caring uncle to Rhys, Eryn, Owen and Jack, he'll be sorely missed by us all'.
Tributes have poured in for the "lovely" man, with many flocking to social media after hearing the news.
His devastated wife, Mikaela, posted a photo with Alan on Facebook and wrote: "Forever & Always Mr S... I love you".
Others have also flocked to social media to share their respects.
One person said: "I am so sorry to hear this sad news, Ali was a lovely guy... Thinking of his wife and kids and family".
Another added: "It's heartbreaking, what a big gent".
Someone else posted: "Thinking of this poor man's family at this horrendously sad time and sending hugs".
A fourth commented: "So gutted for you Mikaela, he was such a nice guy, thinking of you and the kids".
Officers have added that enquiries into the incident are ongoing and they are appealing for anyone with information about the crash to come forward.
Sergeant Dave Cooper from the Road Policing Unit, Elgin, said: 'Our thoughts are with Alistair's family and friends at this difficult time.
'Our enquiries are ongoing, and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or the vehicles prior to the crash and who hasn't already spoken to officers to contact us.
'I would also ask anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch.'

The facility, run by Europa-park, is located in Rust, Baden-Württemberg, near the French border. German police said the sick attack took place on Saturday, August 9, L'Alsace reported. After sexually abusing her, the suspect reportedly left her alone in the woods. She was then found by a local passerby around 10pm the same day. The area she was discovered in was about 5km from the water park, and she was only wearing a swimsuit. The suspect is reportedly a 31-year-old Romanian national. He was living in the local region at the time of the attack, reports say. Cops are desperately continuing their manhunt for the suspect. And they put out an appeal for any information that may lead to his arrest. Her spine was also broken in four places and shattered her right-hip socket - her chances of survival were slim. After numerous surgeries, Jade was told she would be left permanently paralysed. When the tragic story hit the news, she was subject to a barrage of abuse and vicious online trolling accusing her of abandoning her children to save herself. She said every article she read on what happened was accompanied by comments saying she had "left her children to die". "I thought I couldn't be in any more pain, but that hurt the most," she said. Even Jade began to doubt herself and questioned whether she could have done more. But an official inquest later revealed she couldn't have done anything else to save Issac and Sienna. The inquest also heard how the blaze reached around 1000C and the house's fire alarms didn't work with a "perfect storm" of conditions drawing the fire and smoke upwards. It also ruled that TV electrics in Issac's bedroom likely caused the blaze - Jade was paid a settlement by the manufacturer last year. Speaking five years later, Jade smiles at her final memories of her children. She sang Issac his favourite nursery rhymes and read Sienna her favourite story that night as she tucked them into bed. "I'm glad I cuddled them and kissed them before watching them both fall asleep happy that night," she said. Jade was treated in hospital for months but still managed to walk again despite doctors saying it wasn't possible. But mentally she was broken, haunted by flashbacks and suicidal thoughts. Since then, Jade turned to alternative therapies and has retrained as a spiritual healer finding peace in helping others. She has moved house and even won a Woman of Courage award for building a holistic business in the face of adversity. When she went on stage to collect her award, she said she could hear Issac and Sienna cheering "louder than anyone else".

Abdullah, who used an Arabic interpreter, pleaded not guilty to the two alleged offences. Judge Jonathan Fuller KC said: "The matter will be adjourned for trial which will take place on May 5 next year. "You will have to be back here on October 30 for a further case management hearing. "You will be remanded to your bail subject to the same conditions that were imposed at this court in July." His conditional bail, which includes a tagged home curfew, was continued by the judge. Abdullah arrived in Britain as an asylum seeker in 2023 and has been granted permanent leave to remain. The student was arrested at his home in West Drayton, Middlesex, following the alleged assault. Police were called to the public toilet in Undercliff Drive in Bournemouth, at around 1.57am on July 6. Detective Inspector Shaun Inkpen, of the Dorset Police Major Crime Investigation Team, said: 'After extensive enquiries, an 18-year-old man from the West Drayton area of Middlesex was arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault. "After consulting with our colleagues in the Crown Prosecution Service, charges were authorised in respect of rape and sexual assault. 'I would like to pass on my thanks to the members of the public who have come forward and assisted our investigation. 'The victim is continuing to be supported and has been updated with the developments in the investigation."
