Anwar urges peaceful Pakistan-India resolution
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed hope that Pakistan and India can achieve a peaceful and comprehensive resolution, ensuring lasting regional stability.
In a Facebook post today, Anwar shared that he conveyed this message to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during a phone call.
Shehbaz, currently performing the haj pilgrimage, reached out to Anwar during his spiritual journey.
"I pray that he has a successful haj and wish Eid Mubarak (Selamat Hari Raya) to all Pakistanis," Anwar said.
The Prime Minister also expressed his hope that Shehbaz's official visit to Malaysia could be rescheduled once conditions in Pakistan allow.
Malaysia, he added, looks forward to further strengthening its strategic, mutually respectful, and beneficial bilateral ties with Pakistan.

Malaysia supports June 14 Thailand-Cambodia border talks
PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says Malaysia supports the measures taken by Thailand and Cambodia in addressing the border dispute involving both countries. Cambodia has since announced its intention to bring the border dispute to the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Thailand, meanwhile, has reportedly reiterated its commitment to resolving the issue peacefully in accordance with international law, as well as existing agreements and memoranda with Cambodia. Following the tension, the two neighbours have agreed to discuss the issue through the Joint Boundary Commission scheduled to be held in Phnom Penh on June 14. This is expected to be a crucial step towards a peaceful long-term resolution between the two ASEAN neighbouring countries.
