Jordan News10-08-2025
Israeli settlers attacked two Palestinian villages near Ramallah in the central West Bank on Saturday evening, firing live bullets and setting fires, according to official Palestinian media. اضافة اعلان The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that armed settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, attacked the village of Ramon from the northwest, opening fire at residents and their homes. No injuries were reported. Settlers also set fire to agricultural land surrounding Palestinian homes in the area. Israeli forces entered the area to secure the settlers, firing illumination flares that exacerbated the fires, causing material damage to Palestinian farmland. Another group of settlers attacked the village of Deir Jarir, sparking clashes with residents. Settlers gathered at the village's western entrance, while Israeli forces stormed the area to protect them, closing the entrance and firing live ammunition and tear gas at unarmed residents trying to repel the attack. No injuries were reported. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a brief statement to Anadolu Agency that the Israeli army prevented its crews from reaching Deir Jarir after reports of the settler attack. According to the Palestinian government's Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, settlers carried out 466 assaults against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank in July alone, killing four people and forcibly displacing two Bedouin communities comprising 50 Palestinian families. Alongside the ongoing genocide in Gaza, Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, have killed at least 1,013 Palestinians, wounded around 7,000, and arrested more than 18,500, according to Palestinian data. Since October 7, 2023, Israel—backed by the United States—has been committing genocide in Gaza through killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international appeals and International Court of Justice orders to stop.
The assault has so far resulted in 61,369 Palestinian deaths, 152,862 injuries, over 9,000 missing persons, hundreds of thousands displaced, and famine claiming many lives. (Anadolu)

Hamas receives new Egyptian-Qatari ceasefire proposal: Sources

Hamas on Monday received a new proposal from Egyptian and Qatari mediators aimed at resuming indirect negotiations with the Israeli Occupation to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. Arab media outlets, citing unnamed sources, reported that representatives from Egypt and Qatar delivered the initiative to Hamas in the presence of leaders from several other Palestinian factions. The sources added that the faction leaders have asked Hamas to prepare a response to the proposal 'within the coming hours.' These developments follow recent indications from Hamas that the movement is ready to accept the latest mediator proposal without the amendments it had previously attached, signaling increasing flexibility on its part.

Amnesty says 'Israel' deliberately starving Gaza's Palestinians

Rights group Amnesty International on Monday accused 'Israel' of enacting a "deliberate policy" of starvation in Gaza, citing testimonies of displaced Palestinians and medical staff treating malnourished children in the territory. 'Israel', while heavily restricting aid allowed into the Gaza Strip, has repeatedly rejected claims of deliberate starvation in the 22-month-old war. Contacted by AFP, the military and foreign ministry did not immediately comment on Amnesty's findings. According to the group's report, "Israel is carrying out a deliberate campaign of starvation in the occupied Gaza Strip, systematically destroying the health, well-being and social fabric of Palestinian life."
