Aldi drops new beauty product that costs just £2.99 and will be perfect for your summer holiday

The Sun07-06-2025
ALDI has released a new beauty product that comes at a bargain price and will be perfect to pack for your holidays.
The Lacura Facial Tanning Mist is in stores now as one of the discount supermarket's Specialbuys.
It's a bargain £2.99, making it one of the cheapest facial tanning mists you can get.
The beauty buy will be perfect for keeping your tan topped up over the summer and while you're on holiday.
Its 100ml bottle also means you can pack it in your cabin luggage.
The tanning mist comes in two versions, Day Glimmer and Night Shine, so you can choose whether you want it to develop during the day or overnight.
Aldi says the mist is the 'perfect morning boost to revive your skin with a holiday glow'.
It's enriched with glycerin and hyaluronic acid to lock in moisture, and also has rosemary oil.
The description on the website says it will leave your skin looking 'radiantly sunkissed'.
Remember that Aldi Specialbuys are only available while stocks last so you'll need to get in quick if you want it.
The bargain buy appears to be a dupe for the Isle of Paradise Day Dew Gradual Face Mist.
Isle of Paradise is popular with celebrities including Margot Robbie.

But a 100ml bottle will set you back much more than the Lacura tanning mist.
You can get it for £19.32 at Sephora, or the Night Glow version is cheaper at £11.02 at Cult Beauty.
Another alternative is the St Tropez Self Tan Purity Face Mist, which comes in an 80ml bottle.
It's currently £19.20 at LookFantastic.
What other beauty buys does Aldi have right now?
Aldi has just dropped a range of bargain beauty products in its Specialbuys aisle.
The discount supermarket is known for releasing dupes of popular high-end beauty items and this drop is no exception.
It currently has the Luminous Filter Glamour Foundation, which beauty bloggers say is a dupe for Charlotte Tilbury's Hollywood Flawless Filter.
But at £4.99, it's much cheaper than the Charlotte Tilbury version which has a price tag of £39.
Meanwhile the Tinted Lip Oil is said to be a dupe for Selena Gomez's Rare Beauty lip oils.
The Aldi version is £3.99 while the Rare Beauty lip oils come in at £20.
Another Aldi bargain is the Shimmer Setting Spray, which costs £4.49.
Meanwhile the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray costs £16.50 at John Lewis.

Derby allotment turns 130 with 'rude veg' competition

Derby's first ever allotment is celebrating its 130th birthday with a "rudest vegetable competition".Firs Estate Allotments, based in Dean Street, was founded in 1895 and the seven-acre site is home to a community of more than 100 keen gardeners spread across 50 open day on Saturday is part of National Allotments Week and a number of events will take place on the Dr Alex Rock, told the BBC: "We love opening our doors and we love people just wandering around and falling in love with this green lung in the city." The site still has the Victorian-style allotment layout and boasts a set of World War Two shelters and barrage balloon couplings which were designed to hide Derby from German bombers. Dr Rock said the allotment had an "absolutely incredible year" for fruit such as damsons and apples and people turning up to the open day will be able to see a wide range of methods and items grown on each plot from potatoes to tromboncino, a type of squash used in "rudest vegetable competition" is where the tromboncino will take centre stage, often taking a humorous form when left to grow out. Allotment holders have been nurturing their entries since April."They are rude looking vegetables," Dr Rock added."We'll be judging the rudest tromboncino at the open day so people will be invited along to pick their favourite."You can judge it by length, weight and even girth. It's the people's choice." Dr Rock said the benefits of working on an allotment were huge and urged people to get involved."It's an escape and when you go through those gates it's a little bit of paradise... you really don't feel like you're in a city," he said."It allows you stop and reflect, get the soil in your hands and really get stuck in to connect with growing fruit and vegetables."Other activities include tool sharpening sessions, a guided meditation on the wildlife plot, a history tour, a barbeque, wine tasting sessions and live allotment is open to the public between 11:00 BST and 16:00.

Why American A-listers are flocking to this tiny region of the Cotswolds

Taylor Swift, Kamala Harris, Ellen DeGeneres, Kourtney Kardashian, and most recently JD Vance have all recently chosen a small region in the north of the Cotswolds to vacation or live in. Local estate agents tell The Independent half of their clients are from across the pond, and believe it's down to the area's natural beauty, direct train link to London Paddington, and simply that 'you get more for your money here' than in the capital. Meanwhile, locals say it's brought a flurry of traffic, day-trippers, and second homes all the while damaging the 'community feel'- whilst others insist, without them, the local economy would go bust. The Independent's Luke Reevey went to find out more.
