Top Iranian cleric calls for Trump's execution
Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami accused the two leaders of murdering tens of thousands of people in Gaza and the assassination of Qasem Soleimani, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Quds Force, according to a translation of the remarks by Memri TV.
"You are murderers, and you need to be punished," Khatami said, per the translation.
The crowd responded with chants of "Death to America," "Death to England" and "Death to Israel."
Khatami is a member of the Iranian regime's Guardian Council and a senior member of the Assembly of Experts.
Tensions between Iran and Israel escalated to a 12-day war last month, amid an ongoing war between Israel and the regime's Gaza-based proxy Hamas, which started when the group attacked Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.
Trump has made clear that following the 12-day war between Israel and Iran, he would like to see the Gaza conflict end soon.
Relations between the U.S. and Iran were also tense after the U.S. launched a surprise strike on three of Iran's key nuclear sites last month.
Trump recently took a swipe at Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, saying that the U.S. knew where the Iranian leader was hiding.
"We know exactly where the so-called 'Supreme Leader' is hiding," Trump wrote at the time. "He is an easy target, but is safe there — we are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don't want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin."
Iranian officials have since launched a war of words against Trump, demanding he respect Khamenei or else risk facing the regime's "real capabilities."

(Reuters) -U.S. President Donald Trump defended Attorney General Pam Bondi on Saturday amid backlash against her from some of Trump's supporters over how the Justice Department handled the investigation into the death of accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged clientele. Trump said "nobody cares about" Epstein, and that more time or energy must not be wasted on his case, as he tried to unite his base of supporters in a nearly 400-word post on Truth Social. U.S. media, including Fox News and NBC News, have reported that FBI deputy director Dan Bongino has clashed with Bondi over the issue and is considering stepping down. Patel and Bongino, a former conservative podcaster, both previously made statements before working at the FBI about a so-called client list and often suggested that the government was hiding information about Epstein from the American public. Monday's memo on Epstein concluded that after reviewing more than 300 gigabytes of data, there was "no incriminating client list" nor was there any evidence that Epstein may have blackmailed prominent people. The memo also confirmed prior findings by the FBI which concluded that Epstein died by suicide in his jail cell while awaiting trial, and not as a result of a criminal act such as murder. Epstein's death while imprisoned in New York's Metropolitan Correctional Center has ignited controversy for years. Expectations for key revelations in his case grew when, in February, Fox News asked Bondi whether the Justice Department would be releasing Epstein's client list, and she said, "It's sitting on my desk right now to review." On Tuesday at the White House, Bondi walked that comment back, telling reporters that she was referring to the entire Epstein "file" along with other files pertaining to the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. "That's what I meant by that," she said.

IAF pilot almost emergency landed in Tehran during strikes over fuel malfunction
A contingency plan was prepared in parallel, which included the option of landing in a neighboring country should the malfunction persist. An Israeli Air Force F-15 'Baz' fighter jet experienced a critical fuel malfunction while en route to carry out a strike near Tehran during Operation Rising Lion, N12 revealed in a report on Saturday. The aircraft, which was operating deep inside Iranian territory, encountered a failure in one of its fuel tanks, preventing it from accessing necessary fuel during the mission. The malfunction resulted in a serious fuel shortage midflight, threatening to compromise the operation. Unlike some previous IAF missions, no aerial refueling tanker had been deployed in advance. Once the pilot identified the issue, he reported it in real time, prompting an urgent response. A tanker aircraft was scrambled and reached the fighter jet in time to conduct an emergency refueling. Despite the complications, the air crews managed to resolve the problem without deviating from the flight path. A contingency plan was prepared in parallel, which included the option of landing in a neighboring country should the malfunction persist. This was considered in order to avoid the possibility of an Israeli warplane being forced down in central Tehran. In a related report, N12 revealed that IAF Commander Maj.-Gen. Tomer Bar had outlined a worst-case scenario prior to the operation. According to the internal military assessment, up to 10 Israeli aircraft could be hit or crash within the first 72 hours of fighting. The scenario was presented in closed briefings as part of the IDF's operational risk planning. That grim forecast, however, did not come to pass.
