Free agents at one position continue to make plays at OTAs for the Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings have questions and doubt swirling around their cornerback room heading into the 2025 season.
When the team brought back Byron Murphy Jr. they had a good base built for their cornerback group. They had to build off of that though and that is where they added the pieces like Jeff Okudah and Isaiah Rodgers, the latter of which is making news in OTAs early in the week.
Rob Kleifield of Vikings.com wrote about some observations from Vikings OTAs on Monday, and the Super Bowl-winning cornerback made the cut.
When discussing Rodgers, he writes, "Super Bowl champion Isaiah Rodgers was absent the opening week of OTAs, but introduced himself accordingly Monday, coming up with the defense's lone takeaway early in a half-field 7-on-7 period. Extra noticeable in popping gold cleats and color-coordinated gloves, Rodgers, signed this offseason on the heels of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy with Philadelphia, flashed his pedigree and ability by reading and jumping a mid-level pass from McCarthy to Jordan Addison on the left sideline."
Rodgers being able to hold his own against Jordan Addison is a good sign of things if you are Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and Brian Flores getting your first eyes on him in a Vikings uniform.
Rodgers is expected to play outside opposite Murphy Jr. in a rotation with Okudah. If he can keep making plays against Addison, though, he may find himself with the bulk of meaningful reps in September.

Report: Steelers players ‘sick of hearing' about Aaron Rodgers rumors

At some point, Aaron Rodgers is going to have to make a decision about whether he wants to play another season in the NFL — whether it be with the Pittsburgh Steelers or elsewhere — or retire. The four-time NFL MVP admitted his decision has been delayed due to personal matters, but isn't 'holding anybody hostage.' And while he claims he's been open with the Steelers, he still hasn't committed to playing for them in 2025. Advertisement 'I have been told that he has not affirmatively told the Steelers that he's coming,' NFL Network's Tom Pelissero said recently on 'The Rich Eisen Show.' Pelissero added that everything indicates Rodgers will play for Pittsburgh — especially given his recent comments on the 'YNK' podcast that he wouldn't consider playing for the Chicago Bears, but perhaps for a team that plays them on the road. The Steelers play the Bears in Chicago in Week 12. Rodgers has also visited the Steelers and was throwing with D.K. Metcalf. But with OTAs underway, Rodgers remains a free agent. 'So, there are all these signs that he's coming, but he has not affirmatively said, 'Hey, June 9 — book me a ticket, I'm coming in and I'm going to join this team,'' Pelissero said. Advertisement The Steelers do have Mason Rudolph and sixth-round pick Will Howard as their quarterbacks, but with all of the rumors and reports of Rodgers being connected to the Steelers, his potential teammates just want answers. 'They just wanna know what's going on,' Pelissero said. 'And they're sick of hearing about it, and they're sick of being asked about it. They don't want to discuss it anymore.' Bill Belichick has tried to land Jordon Hudson ‘6-figure' jobs, insider says

Bill Belichick has reportedly been trying to line up some lucrative gigs for his girlfriend (and rumored fiancée) Jordon Hudson. Journalist Pablo Torre, who has been prolific in reporting about the Belichick-Hudson relationship, told Pro Football Talk that the former Patriots coach has tried to boost Hudson's career. Advertisement 'Bill Belichick has told multiple people that I've talked to directly – he has called her brilliant. He has tried to get her six-figure jobs on the media enterprises that he was also working for," Torre said. Torre, the host of Pablo Torre Finds Out, has been vocal in highlighting the significant role Hudson plays in Belichick's life and business. Torre noted that, sure, the 49-year age gap is something that draws attention. However, he notes that there's a big story here. As the head coach at North Carolina, Belichick is the highest-paid public employee in the state. At the same time, Hudson has been acting as his agent, manager and PR specialist. Torre disputed the idea that Hudson was merely handling 'lower level stuff' like social media. He insists that Hudson is 'at the top' of Belichcick's operations. Advertisement 'She is the CEO of Belichick Productions, even if that LLC is not actually incorporated anywhere. That's the LinkedIn profile,' Torre said. 'She is his idea mill and creative muse, per the acknowledgments page of his book. She is the person that you had to deal with if you were Matt (expletive) Damon. The whole idea of, 'No, she's doing the lower level stuff.' No, this is at the top.' Why mention Damon? Torre noted earlier in the interview that Damon and Ben Affleck were put in the usual position of having to negotiate with Hudson when they tried to get Belichick to be in their Dunkin' Super Bowl commercial. Per Torre, the meeting left the actors 'flabbergasted.' More Patriots Content Read the original article on MassLive.

Micah Parsons makes announcement amid contract uncertainty

The post Micah Parsons makes announcement amid contract uncertainty appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Dallas Cowboys were criticized for fumbling the ball concerning Micah Parsons and his contract negotiations. Parsons is seeking a $200 million extension and was holding out on training camp. Advertisement However, the Cowboys recovered the ball at the right time but still needed to cross the end zone. Parsons made clear his intentions to attend training camp even as he waits on a new contract, per Ian Rapoport of Parsons took to X to set the record straight. 'I will be there! I haven't missed a mini-camp in 4 years! Even though the contract is not done, I have teammates and a playbook ! I'm preparing as if I will be on the field the first week of camp! But it's in the owner's hands. I'm ready to win a Super Bowl ! Rapoport reposted with the caption 'Not giving away any money for fines, either,' about Parsons avoiding paying any fines for not showing up to camp. Parsons is seeking to become the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL. Recently, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones sent a 'clear' message about Parsons's contract. Advertisement Jones stated that Parsons will get a contract, but the terms of it are yet to be known. 'I haven't talked with him in about 4 or 5 weeks & of course that'll be necessary if he's going to get a (new) contract,' Jones said to Douglas Fritz at Clutchpoints. 'But he's got a contract. That's the point, be sure & clear about that.' Parsons refuted rumors of a 'handshake deal' he negotiated with the Cowboys without signing anything. He has made it clear of his intentions to involve his agent. So, with that, what is the hold-up? What is the Cowboys issue? The Cowboys are having issues with the salary cap. They only have $31.8 allotted in cap space for the season. Furthermore, the values of star players Dak Prescott and CeeCee Lamb don't come cheap. Advertisement Prescott's salary cap is around $89.89 million. Lamb's is at $35.45 million. In turn, the Cowboys wouldn't be in a position to give Parsons what he wants. Parsons is one of the Cowboy's most popular players. He is a four-time Pro-Bowler (2021-2024). In addition, Parsons is known for his defensive versatility and ability to accumulate sacks. He could play linebacker and defensive end. His athleticism and agility allow him to disrupt the opposing offense from all angles. He has 12 sacks in each of his four seasons with Dallas.
