Cal Raleigh Home Run Odds: Can Mariners Star Outslug Other Big Bats?
Major League Baseball Cal Raleigh Home Run Odds: Can Mariners Star Outslug Other Big Bats? Updated Aug. 5, 2025 1:27 p.m. ET share facebook x reddit link Are we on the cusp of crowning a new home run king in Major League Baseball ? Out of nowhere, Seattle's Cal Raleigh is swinging with the big dogs. He leads the sport in home runs (42), smashing more dingers than both Shohei Ohtani (38) and Aaron Judge (37) as of Aug. 5. Where will Raleigh land in his quest for his first home run title? Let's check out the odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Aug. 5. Most regular season total home runs Cal Raleigh: -150 (bet $10 to win $16.67 total) Kyle Schwarber: +280 (bet $10 to win $38 total) Shohei Ohtani: +400 (bet $10 to win $50 total) Aaron Judge: +500 (bet $10 to win $60 total) Eugenio Suarez: +1900 (bet $10 to win $200 total) Cal Raleigh regular season total home runs Over 62.5: +750 (bet $10 to win $85 total) Under 62.5: -1400 (bet $10 to win $10.71 total) First, the all-time single-season record of 73. Raleigh is nowhere near favored to approach that mark, set by Barry Bonds in 2001. In order to break that record, the Seattle slugger would need to hit 32 homers in the next 49 games. Not impossible, but highly unlikely. As for the American League record, Judge hit 62 home runs in 2022, breaking Roger Maris' previous record of 61, which he accomplished back in 1961. Raleigh would have to go deep 21 times in the next 49 games to pass Judge. The 28-year-old Seattle catcher has been a revelation in the Pacific Northwest this season. He was named an All-Star for the first time, and is third in Major League Baseball with 88 RBIs. ADVERTISEMENT In terms of his home run numbers, he hit two in 2021 (rookie year), 27 in 2022, 30 in 2023 and 34 last season, a number he had already surpassed prior to the All-Star Game. Raleigh hit nine home runs in the month of July, 11 in June and 12 in May. He is currently third in slugging (.597), fourth in OPS (.957) and third in WAR (5.4). Beyond leading the home run race, Raleigh is also the clear No. 2 in the AL MVP odds at +150. He made headlines last week by breaking the record for homers by a switch-hitting catcher. As for the odds to lead MLB in homers, Raleigh remains the favorite, with Kyle Schwarber not too far behind. Want great stories delivered right to your inbox? Minjee Lee wins Rolex Annika Major Award as season's top performer in women's majors
Minjee Lee's putting resurgence has resulted in another win: the Rolex Annika Major Award. The Aussie becomes the first two-time winner of the award since its inception in 2014. Points are earned by placing top-10 finishes in majors. Lee finished with 78 points through the five major championships of the 2025 season, winning the 2025 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. She also finished in a share of third at the Amundi Evian Championship. Mao Saigo, winner of the Chevron Championship, finished four points back. Players must win a major to be eligible for the award. Lee also won the RAMA in 2022 after winning the U.S. Women's Open and recording two additional top-five finishes at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship (T2) and AIG Women's Open (T4). Lee was asked on Sunday at the AIG Women's British Open to rate her performance at the majors this season. "I think from where I was at the beginning of the year, and obviously winning KPMG and played Chevron and had a good finish at Evian and all right at U.S. Open and all right here," said Lee. "So I feel like I – I'm going to say I've done pretty well. Maybe like an 8½." Prior to the KPMG, Lee hadn't won since the fall of 2023, and her resurgence of late can be traced back to one club: the long putter. She put it in play at the start of the season at the urging of longtime coach Ritchie Smith. Lee's Strokes Gained: Putting in 2024 was a dismal 137th. She finished first in the field at the KPMG Women's PGA and is currently fourth in SGP. 'Just changing to the broomstick has given me a lot more freedom, I think,' she said in Texas. 'I was just – I guess I just had a lot of thoughts, and just I was overthinking probably about just the conventional way of putting. 'I think just taking my hands a little more out of it and using the broomstick has really been helping me.'

MLB power rankings: Marlins' wild run as baseball's best team continues
We're not going to mince words here: The Miami Marlins are for real. We can talk about it now, because the Marlins, arguably Major League Baseball's most forgotten franchise, have reached the .500 mark after a rousing weekend sweep of the New York Yankees, who have their own issues to worry about. But there's one team – the Milwaukee Brewers – that's played as well as the Marlins since June 13, when they began a roll that's now at 30 wins in 44 games and resulted in them being very much alive rather than a carcass to be picked over at the July 31 trade deadline. Heck, they even held onto franchise bulwark Sandy Alcantara, which may or may not portend positive things for a winter to build upon this surprise season. Miami's pitching staff leads the majors in WHIP (1.06) and the NL in ERA (3.16) since June 27, a 31-game stretch. For now, though, the Marlins have zoomed up four more spots in USA TODAY Sports' power rankings – and are even loitering on the fringes of the NL wild-card race, six games out but with three teams to pass. But if they keep up this pace, there's no ceiling that can stop them. A look at our updated rankings: 1. Milwaukee Brewers (+2) 2. Chicago Cubs (-1) 3. Toronto Blue Jays (-1) 4. Detroit Tigers (-) 5. Philadelphia Phillies (+1) 6. Los Angeles Dodgers (+1) 7. New York Mets (-2) 8. San Diego Padres (+2) 9. Houston Astros (-1) 10. Boston Red Sox (+1) 11. Seattle Mariners (+2) 12. New York Yankees (-3) 13. Cincinnati Reds (+1) 14. Texas Rangers (-2) 15. San Francisco Giants (-) 16. Miami Marlins (+4) 17. Cleveland Guardians (+1) 18. St. Louis Cardinals (-2) 19. Kansas City Royals (-) 20. Tampa Bay Rays (-7) 21. Los Angeles Angels (+1) 22. Arizona Diamondbacks (-1) 23. Minnesota Twins (-) 24. Baltimore Orioles (-) 25. Atlanta Braves (+1) 26. Athletics (-1) 27. Pittsburgh Pirates (-) 28. Washington Nationals (-) 29. Chicago White Sox (-) 30. Colorado Rockies (-)
