Auburn transfer Keyshawn Hall makes important decision regarding NBA draft
Auburn transfer Keyshawn Hall makes important decision regarding NBA draft Hall signed with Auburn as a transfer while testing the NBA draft waters. What did he decide?
Auburn basketball recently landed forward Keyshawn Hall from the transfer portal with the thought of him potentially never playing a second in orange and blue.
However, head coach Bruce Pearl received great news Tuesday as Hall has decided to back off the NBA draft process and will play for Auburn for the 2025-26 season, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. Now that Hall has made his choice, attention turns to guard Tahaad Pettiford, who is also testing the NBA waters, to make his final decision.
Hall joins Auburn's roster following a strong season at UCF that saw him score a Big 12-leading 18.8 points and haul in 7.1 rebounds, which ranked No. 9 in the conference. He reached double figures in points 29 times last year, and scored 20 or more points in 16 games. He scored a season-high 40 points in UCF's win over Arizona State and scored 34 points in a game against Kansas.
Hall will play a major role in Auburn's frontcourt rebuild. A unit depleted by the departure of Johni Broome, Dylan Cardwell, and Chaney Johnson will be filled by Hall, Mississippi State transfer Keshawn Murphy, and JUCO center Emeka Opurum. Pearl says that he hopes to add one more center to round out what should be a stellar rotation at forward and center.

Indiana Fever clear Caitlin Clark for WNBA return
Indiana Fever clear Caitlin Clark for WNBA return On the eve of the Indiana Fever's (4-5) high-profile Saturday matchup against the New York Liberty (9-0), head coach Stephanie White provided a promising update on guards Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham's recovery status. Clark has been out since suffering a left quadriceps strain against the Liberty on May 24, while Cunningham has been absent with a right ankle injury sustained during the team's May 31 loss to the Connecticut Sun. On Friday, White informed the mass of reporters that both Clark and Cunningham would be available for the team on Saturday, barring any unexpected regression in their final tune-ups. Despite the positive recovery news for Clark and Cunningham, White also said the team is expected to be without forward DeWanna Bonner, who has been away for personal reasons. With the extended rest for both Clark and Cunningham, as the two were held out of Tuesday's game in Atlanta, the reintegration of the star guards should significantly help the Fever's offensive efficiency, as Indiana has averaged 77.6 points per game during Clark's absence and 74 points per game following Cunningham's injury. Saturday's game against the undefeated Liberty squad will be held at 2 p.m. CT from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis as part of WNBA Commissioner's Cup action. The premier matchup between the two talented franchises will be broadcast on ABC. Kevin Durant trade coming in ‘next few days' with three contenders making big push
A Kevin Durant trade appears imminent. ESPN's Shams Charania reported Friday on 'The Pat McAfee Show' that the Suns superstar could be traded 'in the next few days' with the Rockets, Heat and Timberwolves at the forefront of the negotiations. 'There is some serious traction on conversations, on trade scenarios with the Suns,' Charania said, noting that between six and eight teams have reached out to Phoenix, but that the front office has keyed in on conversations with those three contenders in the past day or two. Advertisement Charania initially reported that the Knicks were in the mix for Durant, but The Post's Stefan Bondy reported they were not a suitor. Suns forward Kevin Durant during a game on March 30, 2025. NBAE via Getty Images On Thursday, NBA insider Jake Fischer reported there is an 'increasingly strong belief' Durant will be moved before the NBA Draft on June 25. Durant is in the final year of his four-year, $166 million deal, which potential trade partners must take into account before pulling the trigger on a deal. Advertisement An extension for Durant is one of the crucial questions remaining in talks. And the teams that are considering trading for Durant must consider whether they would be willing to sign the 36-year-old to an expensive extension, or if they'd be content to have Durant as a one-year rental. Advertisement Charania likened that potential situation to the Raptors' 2018 trade for Kawhi Leonard, who delivered Toronto a title in his one season with the team before signing with the Clippers in free agency. Durant is in the latter stages of his career, but he has remained a dominant scorer. ESPN's Shams Charania reported Friday that Kevin Durant could be traded 'in the next few days.' @PatMcAfeeShow/X The 15-time All-Star averaged 26.6 points in 62 games with the Suns last season, although the team went 36-46 and missed the playoffs. Advertisement Durant would likely have a crack at a third NBA title with either Houston, Minnesota or Miami — although the Heat aren't as well-positioned to make a deep playoff run as the Rockets and Timberwolves are. In Houston, Durant would slot in alongside an exciting upstart team with young stars like Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson. Minnesota presents the opportunity to play with an already contending squad that features superstar Anthony Edwards.
