Girl group Ily:1 addressed fans Tuesday via social media and left messages that hinted at disbandment.
'It has been an unforgettable journey, laughing and crying together,' it wrote, thanking everyone for supporting the group.
'Now we are going back to daily lives but until the day we meet again, we hope our precious memories would give you strength to power through every day,' it added.
At a recent gig in Tokyo, the members told the audience that it would be their last activity, according to a local media outlet.
Agency FCENM issued a statement soon after and denied the disbandment rumor, underlining that the group is reorganizing to return in better shape.
The group of six debuted in April 2022 with its first single album 'Love In Bloom.' Four contestants from the audition show 'Girls Planet 999' are included in the multinational group. Its third and latest single, 'illang: Firework,' dropped in August 2024.

Berlin Philharmonic to return to Seoul for three concerts
The Berlin Philharmonic will return to Korea after a two-year absence, this time under the leadership of Kirill Petrenko. For the first time, the orchestra will give three performances in Korea, Nov. 7-9. Korean pianist Kim Sun-wook, who debuted with the Berlin Philharmonic in 2021, will join the orchestra in performing Schumann's Piano Concerto on Nov. 7 and 9. Also on the program for the two dates are Wagner's "Siegfried Idyll," Schumann's "Manfred" Overture and Brahms' Symphony No. 1. The Nov. 8 program will feature Leos Janacek's "Lachian Dances," filled with lively Czech folk influences; Bela Bartok's "The Miraculous Mandarin Suite," driven by bold percussion rhythms; and Igor Stravinsky's "Petrushka," one of the composer's three great ballets. All three concerts will take place at the Seoul Arts Center. In 2023, returning to Korea for the first time since 2017, the Berlin Philharmonic's concerts in Seoul sold out in just 40 seconds, demonstrating the orchestra's immense popularity in Korea. At that time, celebrated pianist Cho Seong-Jin, the orchestra's artist in residence for the 2024/25 season, joined the orchestra as the soloist for the second concert, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4. The November performances in Korea will mark the first leg of the orchestra's Asia tour, during which it will stop in major Asian cities such as Taipei, Shanghai and Tokyo. In Taipei, the orchestra will perform at the National Concert Hall on Nov. 12 and 13. On Nov. 15 and 16, the orchestra will take the stage at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center. In Japan, the orchestra will offer four concerts between Nov. 19 and 23 at Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Minato Mirai Hall in Yokohama, and Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall in Kawasaki, before returning to Suntory Hall on Nov. 23 to wrap up the Asia tour. Ticket prices for the Korean concerts range from 110,000 won ($80.26) to 550,000 won.

Virtual group Plave to launch first Asia tour
Pioneering virtual idol group to kick off 'Dash: Quantum Leap' tour after record-breaking success Plave, the leading K-pop group in the virtual artist scene, is set to embark on its first Asia tour. According to agency Vlast, Plave will kick off its "Dash: Quantum Leap" Asia tour with a concert at the KSPO Dome in Seoul from Aug. 15 to 17. This will be their first performance since the "Hello, Asterum! Encore" held in Seoul in October 2024. The KSPO Dome, which can accommodate over 10,000 people, is widely considered a benchmark of popularity and success for K-pop idol groups. Plave will be the first virtual idol group ever to perform on its stage. Starting in Seoul, Plave will go on to perform in five other cities, Taipei on Aug. 23, Hong Kong on Oct. 1, Jakarta on Oct. 18, Bangkok on Oct. 25 and Tokyo on Nov. 1–2. Debuting in 2023, Plave is a five-member virtual boy group consisting of Yejun, Noah, Bamby, Eunho and Hamin. They've quickly risen in popularity across Korea and Asia, becoming one of the most successful virtual idol acts in K-pop. Using motion tracking and real-time rendering, the group translates the performers' actual movements directly into their virtual characters. Unlike AI-generated virtual humans, Plave's members perform live vocals and choreography at their concerts. The group's third mini album "Caligo Pt.1," released in February, featured the main track 'Dash,' which became the first song by a virtual idol group to enter Billboard's Global 200 chart. The album also broke Melon records with its highest-ever 24-hour streaming numbers, making Plave the only artist to simultaneously join both the Billions Club and the Millions Album record categories within a day of release. Plave is also set to expand its reach further with official Japanese debut single 'Hide and Seek,' scheduled for release on June 16.
