Valayappettai Sri Ramachariar emphasised that Lord Krishna's advice to Arjuna centres on the Charama sloka: Sarva Dharman Parityajya (Chapter 18 — Verse 66): 'Completely relinquish all dharmas and seek Me as refuge; I will free you from all sins.' Acharya Ramanuja clarifies that authentic relinquishment means letting go of control, ownership, and attachment to outcomes, not abandoning devotional practices. The core teaching is to dedicate one's actions to God, with the individual acting as His instrument. Any rewards belong to God, not the agent. Krishna assured Arjuna that He would free him from all obstacles incompatible with the path, such as doing what should not be done and neglecting what should be done. When Arjuna doubted whether he could begin Bhakti yoga, the Lord instructed him to renounce all dharmas. Here, dharmas means expiatory duties. The Lord said He is always compassionate to those who depend on Him.
We are all born to render service to Him. But our sins prevent us from rendering the same. Moksha will eventually come if sins are removed. Through a mere surrender, a person can derive the blessings of God and attain liberation.

The Chief Minister also said that the life and leelas of Lord Shri Krishna offer timeless lessons for humanity. Steeped in legend, the temple is one of the most prominent Vaishnav shrines in Odisha. Nando Utsav will be celebrated on Sunday. According to temple tradition, the deity earned the name Khirachora Gopinath (Gopinath, the thief of milk pudding) centuries ago when Lord Krishna, moved by the longing of his ardent devotee Madhavendra Puri, secretly kept aside a portion of the famous khira bhoga (milk pudding) and delivered it to him through the temple priest. Since then, the temple has become a centre of faith and pilgrimage, drawing devotees from across the country. Constructed during the reign of King Langula Narasinghadeva of the Ganga dynasty, the shrine houses three deities—Madan Mohan, Govinda, and Gopinath. The absence of Goddess Radha here is linked to ancient lore, and priests say this makes the temple unique in its traditions. 1 2 3 4 Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh was drenched in devotion and festivities on Saturday as thousands of devotees celebrated Sri Krishna Janmashtami with enthusiasm. Temples dedicated to Lord Krishna overflowed with worshippers, chanting bhajans and offering special prayers on the auspicious occasion of the Lord's birth, which is observed on the eighth day of Krishna Paksha in the month of Shravan. In Vijayawada, the celebrations were marked by a blend of tradition and vibrancy. At Ramavarappadu, idols of Lord Krishna were adorned and installed in decorated pavilions, where priests performed special rituals. Children dressed as little Krishnas and Gopikas stole the show, drawing applause during cultural competitions. Participation of political leaders, across party lines, added significance to the event. One of the highlights was the Gopuja held in One Town area, where devotees worshipped and fed cows, symbolising reverence towards the sacred animal. At the famous Kanaka Durga temple, Lord Krishna's idol was anointed in the sanctum of the temple. Thousands of devotees took part in the rituals, followed by cow worship in the temple cowshed. The Yadava Welfare Association marked the occasion with a massive annadanam, serving free meals to nearly 20,000 devotees in Governorpet and Ramavarappadu. The evening came alive with the lively Utti Utsav, where hundreds of youngsters enthusiastically attempted to break the traditional pot, with prizes distributed to the winners.
