
South Edmonton crash involved e-scooter: police
On Thursday around 3 p.m., a westbound Dodge Durango was turning left on 51 Avenue and 106 Street when a man on an e-scooter entered the intersection against the red light and crossed in front of the SUV.
The e-scooter driver, a 32-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
Police say he is now in stable condition and the SUV driver, a 38-year-old woman, was not hurt.
The intersection was closed for a few hours on Thursday. Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Motorcyclist killed after losing control in Mauricie, Que.
A motorcyclist in her 60s was killed Sunday afternoon after losing control of her motorcycle in a construction zone in Notre-Dame-de-Montauban, in Quebec's Mauricie region. The accident occurred around 1:45 p.m. on Rousseau Road, also known as Route 367, near Thomas-Lavoie Road, said Ève Brochu-Joubert, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). According to initial reports, the motorcyclist, who was riding with two other motorcycles, was thrown from her vehicle after losing control on a section of the road that was covered in gravel due to repairs. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where she was pronounced dead. Another motorcycle carrying two people also lost control. They suffered minor injuries. A collision investigator was scheduled to arrive at the scene in the afternoon to analyze the scene and attempt to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Heavy vehicle driver killed in Saint-Moïse, Que.
The driver of a heavy vehicle was killed in an accident in Saint-Moïse, in Quebec's Bas-Saint-Laurent region. The 34-year-old man reportedly lost control of his vehicle while travelling eastbound.
