Barry Keoghan has opened up on his meeting with legend Ringo Starr and the one request the Beatles legend had for him.
Earlier in the year, it was confirmed that the Saltburn star would be portraying the 84-year-old in Sam Mendes' upcoming four-part Beatles biopic.

As preparations for filming get underway, Barry has since revealed he paid a visit to Ringo's house, admitting that he 'froze' when he first came face-to-face with the musician.
Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Barry detailed the meeting.
He said: 'I met Ringo the other day. I met him at his house and he played the drums for me. He asked me to play them but I wasn't playing the drums for Ringo.
'It was one of those moments when you're just in awe and [I] just froze.' Earlier in the year, it was confirmed that the Saltburn star would be portraying the 84-year-old in Sam Mendes' upcoming four-part Beatles biopic. Pic: Getty Images
Barry went on to note that despite paying a visit to study the musician's mannerisms, he was unable to look at him.
'I was nervous,' Barry told Jimmy, 'He was like, 'You can look at me,' and it was just, again, I'm playing Ringo Starr. My job is to observe and take in all kind of mannerisms and, you know, studying [him].'
Barry added that he wanted to 'humanise' the former rock star and 'not just imitate.' News of the line-up for the four movies was announced in April when director Mendes and the actors made a surprise appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
Four movies are set for release with each movie focusing on one member of the band. All four movies will be released in April 2028.
Speaking at the time, Sam said: 'We're not just making a film about the Beatles — we're making four. Perhaps this is a chance to understand them a little more deeply.' @w4it1ngroom i loved saltburn but his accent was terrible #barrykeoghan #thebeatles #ringostarr #beatlesmovie ♬ original sound – cait🪩
While there has been huge excitement surrounding the casting announcement, many have expressed their concerns about Barry's ability to pull off the iconic scouse accent.
Barry previously showcased the accent in the Emerald Fennell blockbuster Saltburn, but his efforts were deemed unsatisfactory by a number of Liverpool natives.
One TikTok user shared a clip of Barry in Saltburn, branding the accent 'terrible', while others took to the comments confused that the accent was even an attempt at Scouse.
'I want to know if any of these 'Accent coaches' have ever been to Liverpool or Merseyside, who signs off on this,' was one of the comments.

Beyoncé to bring Cowboy Carter Tour to London for six nights

Singer Beyoncé is to bring her Cowboy Carter Tour to London for six performances at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The 43-year-old will perform her first show in the run on Thursday, followed by shows on 7, 10, 12, 14, and 16 June, after the tour for her eighth studio album began in April in the US in Inglewood, California. The singer last performed in the UK in 2023 on the Renaissance World Tour, which saw her play five dates at the same London venue and will arrive in the capital having just played five dates in East Rutherford, New Jersey. So far in the tour, Beyoncé's set has seen her perform classic hits such as Love On Top, If I Were A Boy and Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), along with tracks from her latest album, which saw her move into country music, including Texas Hold 'Em, 16 Carriages and II Most Wanted. The Houston-born star has also been performing covers of The Beatles' Blackbird and Dolly Parton's Jolene. Doors are expected to open at 5pm for the show, and the singer has not had a support act on the tour so far. Following the UK gigs, the singer will move on to Paris, where she will play three nights at the Stade De France, before returning to the US to conclude the tour. Beyoncé announced the London dates after finally winning the album of the year Grammy this year for Cowboy Carter, released in March 2024, she also won the best country album Grammy as well as the country duo/group performance award for her song featuring Miley Cyrus, titled II Most Wanted. The singer had previously failed to secure the best album prize with 2008's I Am … Sasha Fierce, 2013's Beyoncé, 2016's Lemonade and 2022's Renaissance, and dedicated her win to Linda Martell, who features on the album, who was the first black woman to play the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. The 67th Grammy Awards, held in February, saw the singer extend her lead as the most decorated artist in the event's history with 35 awards. She began her career alongside Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams in Destiny's Child during the 1990s. She married rapper Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, in 2008, and the couple have three children - Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir.
