Hina Khan Says She's Not Getting Work Since A Year Amid Cancer Treatment: 'Please Call Me'
After a year away battling cancer, Hina Khan returns to TV but says she can sense hesitation from the industry about casting her again.
Hina Khan is making her TV return after a tough year – but she admits not everyone in the industry seems ready to work with her again.
The actor, who revealed her breast cancer diagnosis last year, says her illness forced her to step away from multiple projects and turn down offers. Now back on screen with Pati Patni Aur Panga, Hina is ready to work, though she can still sense hesitation from others.
'This is my first project after the whole thing happened. I want to work. No one has directly said to me that, 'You've still not recovered completely', but I can sense that maybe people are hesitant for all the right reasons," she told PTI.
Hina said she understands the caution but is determined to change minds. 'It's okay. I'll have to break that norm. Maybe the show will do it, I understand it. Had I been in their place, I would've thought about it a thousand times."
The Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai star added that despite the silence from casting calls over the past year, she's fully open to new roles. 'I'm open to auditions, where did I stop? No one has called me for the last one year, for all the reasons. I'm open to everything, please call me."
For Hina, returning to television through a reality show felt like the right move. She appears alongside her partner Rocky Jaiswal on Pati Patni Aur Panga, currently airing on Colors Channel. The series also features popular celebrity couples including Debinna Bonnerjee–Gurmeet Choudhary, Rubina Dilaik–Abhinav Shukla, Avika Gor–Milind Chandwani, Swara Bhasker–Fahad Ahmad, Geeta Phogat–Pawan Kumar, and Sudesh Lehri–Mamta Lehri.
