A fast-moving wildfire dubbed the Canyon Fire has scorched nearly 5,000 acres across Ventura and Los Angeles counties, prompting mandatory evacuations and a local emergency proclamation. The blaze erupted Thursday afternoon near Lake Piru and quickly spread eastward, threatening homes, infrastructure, and power lines.
