Jennifer Garner to Star in TV Adaptation "The Five-Star Weekend" at Peacock
Peacock has ordered a series adaptation of the Elin Hilderbrand novel 'The Five-Star Weekend' with Jennifer Garner attached to star.
The project was first reported to be in development at Peacock in April 2024 as part of Sue Naegle and Ali Krug's overall deal with UCP under their Dinner Party Productions banner.
The official description of the series states: 'Hollis Shaw (Garner), a famed food influencer known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste, and warm demeanor suffers a devastating loss. Unable to move forward, the death starts to expose the cracks in Hollis's picture-perfect life—her strained marriage, her complicated relationship with her daughter, and her growing pursuit of validation from her followers. In an effort to overcome grief and find herself again, Hollis gets the idea to host a weekend away at her house on Nantucket with three friends from different stages in her life: her childhood, her twenties, thirties, and one surprise fifth star. Set against a luxurious and coastal backdrop, they will mature in ways they could never imagine as boundaries are pushed and secrets are exposed.'
Bekah Brunstetter serves as creator, writer, and executive producer on 'The Five-Star Weekend,' with Beth Schacter also writing and executive producing.
Garner will executive produce in addition to starring. Naegle and Krug executive produce via Dinner Party, with Hilderbrand also executive producing. UCP is the studio.
This will be the second of Hilderbrand's novels to be adapted for the small screen. Previously, Netflix adapted Hilderbrand's novel 'The Perfect Couple' into a hit miniseries starring Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Eve Hewson, and Dakota Fanning. That show debuted in September 2024 and spent six weeks on the Netflix English-language TV top 10 chart.
Garner previously received four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for her starring role in the hit ABC series 'Alias.'
Currently, she stars in the Apple TV+ series 'The Last Thing He Told Me,' which is prepping its second season. Her other recent TV credits include the 'Party Down' revival at Starz and 'Camping' at HBO.
In the film, Garner is known for starring in features like 'Dallas Buyers Club,' 'Love, Simon,' and '13 Going on 30.' She reprised the role of Elektra Natchios — whom she played in both 2003's 'Daredevil' and the standalone 'Elektra' film — in the 2024 blockbuster 'Deadpool & Wolverine.'

Nicole Kidman to Star in TV Series "Girls and Their Horses"
Yara Sameh Nicole Kidman is set to star in and executive produce a series adaptation of the Eliza Jane Brazier novel 'Girls and Their Horses'. The official logline for 'Girls and Their Horses' reads, 'A murder-mystery set in the beachside equestrian community of Rancho Santa Fe, California, 'Girls and Their Horses' follows the newly wealthy Parker family as they aim to position their teenage daughters in the rarified, sometimes-deadly world of competitive horse riding.' Should it move forward, this would mark the latest series role for Kidman, who has quickly become the hardest working actress in television. In addition to 'The Perfect Couple,' she has starred in the shows 'Big Little Lies,' 'Top of the Lake: China Girl,' 'The Undoing,' 'Nine Perfect Strangers,' 'Lioness,' and 'Expats' since 2017. The second season of 'Nine Perfect Strangers' recently debuted, while Kidman is also attached to star in the shows 'Scarpetta' at Prime Video and 'Margo's Got Money Troubles' at Apple TV+. She also has a stellar film career, for which she has received five Oscar nominations with one win. Her recent film credits include 'The Northman,' 'Babygirl,' 'A Family Affair,' and 'Being the Ricardos.' In addition to 'Girls and Their Horses,' Brazier is also the author of the books 'If I Disappear' and 'Good Rich People,' both of which she is currently adapting for TV. The former is set up at 20th Television, while the latter is at MRC. She is also working on a feature screenplay based on her novel 'It Had to Be You' at Sony. This is the latest collaboration between Legendary TV and Amazon MGM Studios in recent weeks. It was reported back in April that Legendary's 'Pacific Rim' TV series is now set up at Amazon, while the two studios, along with Pacesetter Productions, have struck a deal to develop a series based G. "The Sandman" to End with Extra Episode
Yara Sameh Netflix's adaptation of Neil Gaiman's ' The Sandman ' is still ending with Season 2, but fans will get one more episode than they believed. The giant streamer revealed on Tuesday that, in addition to the 11 episodes already announced, a bonus twelfth episode will be released on July 31. The bonus episode is titled 'The Sandman Presents: Death: The High Cost of Living' and will focus on the character Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste). As previously announced, the first six episodes of Season 2 will premiere on July 3, with the next five premiering on July 24. Netflix has also revealed the 11 titles for those episodes, which can be seen below. Season 2 will bring several fan-favorite storylines from the comics to life, including the 'Season of Mists,' 'Brief Lives,' 'The Kindly Ones,' and 'The Sandman: Overture' collections. The season will also include single-issue stories such as 'Tales in the Sand,' 'A Midsummer Night's Dream,' 'The Song of Orpheus,' 'Thermidor,' and 'The Tempest,' among others. Per the description for the second and final chapter of 'The Sandman,' 'After a fateful reunion with his family, Dream of the Endless (Tom Sturridge) must face one impossible decision after another as he attempts to save himself, his kingdom, and the waking world from the epic fallout of his past misdeeds. To make amends, Dream must confront longtime friends and foes, gods, monsters, and mortals. But the path to forgiveness is full of unexpected twists and turns, and true absolution may cost Dream everything. Based on the beloved award-winning DC comic series, the second season of 'The Sandman' will tell Dream's story arc in full to its thrilling conclusion.' The cast for Season 2 also includes Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Esmé Creed-Miles, Adrian Lester, Barry Sloane, Patton Oswalt, Vivienne Acheampong, Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman, Ferdinand Kingsley, Stephen Fry, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Razane Jammal, Ruairi O'Connor, Freddie Fox, Clive Russell, Laurence O'Fuarain, Ann Skelly, Douglas Booth, Jack Gleeson, Indya Moore, and Steve Coogan. Netflix and 'The Sandman' showrunner Allan Heinberg had plotted the second season to be the final since before it was filmed in the summer of 2023. However, the streamer did not confirm the end of the show until January of this year, which coincided with the timing of sexual misconduct accusations leveled against 'The Sandman' graphic novel author and series executive producer Neil Gaiman. Lady Gaga Appears in Netflix's "Wednesday" First Look
Yara Sameh Netflix released a clip of the first six minutes of 'Wednesday' Season 2 at the Tudum 2025 event — which confirmed Lada Gaga's cameo appearance that she shot in Ireland in one day. At the celebration, Gaga performed an original song that will be featured on this season's soundtrack. She has been in Los Angeles preparing for the celebration, including various rehearsals. In the clip, Haley Joel Osment stars as a serial killer called the Kansas City Scalper. Along with Ortega, cast members returning to 'Wednesday' are Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Victor Dorobantu, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Jamie McShane and Fred Armisen. According to Netflix, Gaga plays Rosaline Rotwood — a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday. Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, "Wednesday" follows the titular Addams to Nevermore Academy, where she learns to master her emerging psychic abilities. In Season 1, she uncovers a killing spree that was connected to her parents, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (Luis Guzmán), who met at the school 15 years earlier. 'Wednesday' became a massive hit for Netflix when it debuted in November 2022, eventually becoming the streamer's most-watched TV season of all time.
