BREAKING NEWS Groundbreaking Aussie TV chef Peter Russell-Clarke dies after stroke complications
Russell-Clarke, who was the face of Coon cheese in television advertisements during the early 1990s, passed away on Friday after suffering complications following a stroke.
He was surrounded by his beloved wife Jan and two children Peter and Wendy.
His close friend Beverley Pinder paid tribute to the TV chef, telling the Herald Sun on Sunday: 'Peter Russell-Clarke was a phenomenon – years ahead of his time.'
'His wife Jan was his backbone. A loveable, larrikin artist and gentleman of the art of relaxed cooking.'

Russell-Clarke was best known for his ABC series Come and Get It which aired in the 1980s.
He became known for his catchphrase 'G'day' on the five-minute cooking program.
The chef has written and illustrated 25 cookbooks, including an encyclopaedia of food.
Russell-Clarke has cooked for Victoria's State Premiers, the Prime Minister, the Duke of Edinburgh and The Prince of Wales' Silver Jubilee dinner in Australia.
A chef who always appealed to a family audience, Peter found himself at the centre of controversy in 2008 when an expletive-ridden 'blooper reel' surfaced on YouTube.
Speaking to nine.com.au in 2014, Russell-Clarke said that he believed the video had 'cost him work'.

'I'll never forget three months down the track I lost it one night. I got in my car, drove down the road, I don't know where (I was). My brother found me pissed as a fart. 'And that was a moment, he really slapped it out of me and went enough is enough.' His company MAdE collapsed in February 2020 after being ordered by the Fair Work Ombudsman to pay workers millions in unpaid penalty rates. Calombaris was personally hit with a $200,000 penalty for the wage rorts but always insisted the underpayments were simply a mistake he blamed on inexperience. The ex-hospitality boss said the payment error was detected after the company made a self-report, but the publicity that followed made it impossible to keep his 21 businesses alive. Calombaris explained it creatted 'six months of pain' and he lost around '$3million in endorsements'. 'Ridiculous, stupid, I would have rather taken that 3 million and given it to charity,' he added. His reputation was further damaged when he was caught on camera attacking a 19-year-old at an A-League grand final between Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory. Calombaris was convicted of assault and fined $1,000, but the damage to his name was so bad his conviction was later overturned. He eventually picked himself after waking up after a big booze-filled night and realising his life had to change. The family moved to Arthurs Seat, in Victoria's Mornington Peninsula in March 2020 and Calombaris reignited his passion for cooking by becoming the executive chef of his family's household. At first, he was afraid the stigma from his past life would follow his family, but was relieved to be welcomed in by the community as fellow school parents immediately invited him into their conversations. By slowing down his lifestyle and beginning to engage with the community, he found a sense of purpose, cooking meals and sharing them with friends as well as helping Melbourne business associates struggling amid the pandemic. He previously said the one positive from his downfall was having more time with his family after he frequently missed major milestones during his action-packed career.

NEIGHBOURS favourite Stefan Dennis has signed for the new series of Strictly. The actor, 66, has played six-times married Ramsay Street lothario Paul Robinson since the first episode in 1985. The soap's final episode filmed at Nunawading Studios in Australia on Friday, and will air on Amazon Prime in December. It leaves Stefan free to take to the dancefloor this autumn to impress actress wife Gail Easdale, 52, and their three children. A source said: ' Stefan is a huge character on the soap and is sure to be a hit with Strictly fans. ' BBC bosses are confident Stefan will bring in the ratings. 'He has made no secret of the fact that he would love to star on Strictly and will put his all into the training.' Paul Robinson's biggest storyline was in 2005 for the 20th anniversary when he was shoved from a mezzanine — leading to the 'Who Pushed P.R?' mystery. As a singer, Stefan also reached No16 in the UK singles chart with 1989's Don't It Make You Feel Good.
