Burnley sign Lesley Ugochukwu from Chelsea
It's been in the works for a few days, and on Wednesday, it became official. Burnley FC signed Lesley Ugochukwu (21) to a five-year contract, which will keep him in Lancashire until 2030. According to the , the newly promoted Premier League side will pay Chelsea close £23.2m to acquire him, which was the fee the Blues had given to Stade Rennais to sign him in August 2023. It seems as though Burnley defender Maxime Estève (23) had a part in swaying him to join the 2024-25 Championship runners-up. 'As soon as I learned the club's interest in my recruitment, I wanted to learn more about the project. I talked to the coach and Maxime Estève- they were both passionate about the club and its direction. I think this is the ideal choice for me at this stage of my career, given the ambition of the club,' Ugochukwu told Burnley's media channels upon completion of the move. Estève, born in Montpellier, has been with Burnley since February 2024, making the permanent switch in May of that year. This will be the third English top-flight side that Ugochukwu has featured for since 2023, after spending last season on loan at Southampton, scoring once in 26 appearances as they were relegated to the Championship. Before coming to England, Ugochukwu played three seasons in Ligue 1 at Stade Rennais, and he's also made 20 appearances for France at various youth levels. He had signed a seven-year contract with Chelsea in 2023 but only made 12 appearances for them in the Premier League during the 2023-24 campaign. He's the second former Rennes and France youth player to sign for Scott Parker's side this summer. In early July, Loum Tchaouna (21) officially joined the club on a five-year deal for an estimated fee of £12m. The former Lazio forward represented France at the 2022 UEFA European U-19 Championship, finishing that competition as the leading goalscorer (four goals). GFFN | Joel Lefevre

Nottingham Forest in talks to sign Strasbourg's Dilane Bakwa
At the start of the transfer window, Dilane Bakwa (22) was one of the players touted to leave RC Strasbourg Alsace. That has not yet come to pass, however, the France U21 international is the subject of talks with a Premier League side, as revealed by and confirmed by L'Équipe. Bakwa has excelled at Strasbourg since making the move from Girondins de Bordeaux back in 2023. In 66 games in all competitions, the winger has 11 goals and 18 assists. He played a key role in ensuring Les Alsaciens' qualification for UEFA Europa Conference League football for the coming season. However, he may not take any part in that campaign. Toubache-Ter reports that Nottingham Forest are in talks to sign Bakwa. Their interest in the French winger follows interest shown in AS Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche, who plays in the same position. Akliouche is also of interest to Bayer Leverkusen, as per Bild. GFFN | Luke Entwistle

Al Hilal agree deal with Liverpool for striker Darwin Nunez
Darwin Nunez is set to undergo a medical after Liverpool agreed a fee of €53million plus bonuses with Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal for the Uruguayan striker. It brings to an end Nunez's three-year stay at Anfield after arriving from Benfica for an initial fee of €75 million in 2022. The 26-year-old came close to leaving in January but Liverpool rejected an approach to sign him from Al-Nassr as they prioritised winning the Premier League title. Advertisement They believe that approach was vindicated as he made a number of vital contributions en route to being crowned champions. Nunez wanted to pursue a move in January and this summer his agent reiterated that desire to embark on a new challenge after finding his game time limited under Arne Slot. Nunez has been given permission by Liverpool to travel to Germany, where Al-Hilal are based for a training camp, to undergo his medical. The Athletic reported on Wednesday that the Saudi Pro League club had reached an agreement in principle to sign Nunez, with a deal worth €53million plus add-ons had struck verbally. Milan also showed an interest in signing Nunez, though it was considered unlikely that the Serie A club would be able to match Al Hilal's financial package. Liverpool rejected a bid for the forward from Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr in January worth around €70million (£60m, $81m). The striker made 143 appearances for the club following his move from Benfica in 2022. He played in 30 league games last season but only eight of those came as a starter, scoring five times in the club's Premier League title-winning campaign. Liverpool have strengthened in forward areas this summer with the addition of Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, and have also had a £110million bid for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak rejected.
