Projects worth ₹342 cr approved for cleanliness across multiple Haryana cities
Directing to prepare a standard operating procedure (SOP) for the tender process, with clearly defined timelines and responsibilities for each stage to eliminate unnecessary delays, the chief minister said that no compromise on quality will be tolerated in development works.
Presiding over a meeting of the High Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC) in Panchkula concerning the implementation of various projects in urban local bodies, Saini said that contractors delivering high-quality work should be honoured periodically.
'At the same time, strict action should be taken against agencies or contractors found negligent or performing substandard work,' he said during the meeting in which urban local bodies minister Vipul Goel was also present.
The committee approved projects worth approximately ₹342 crore. Through rate negotiations with various bidders, savings of about ₹11.90 crore were achieved.
An official spokesperson said projects worth ₹15.30 crore were approved for the development and beautification of road stretches, beautification of parks, and roundabouts under the Divya Nagar Yojana in Karnal municipal corporation.
These works will not only provide citizens with improved public spaces but will also enhance their quality of life through a cleaner and more attractive environment. Similarly, development works worth ₹13.92 crore were sanctioned for the dairy complex on Kanheli Road in Rohtak.
In addition, projects costing ₹13.50 crore were approved for the redevelopment of the Mata Sheetla Devi shrine complex in Gurugram.
The panel also approved projects related to door-to-door garbage collection, segregation, transportation and processing of waste in Narwana municipal council, municipal corporation (MC) Rohtak, MC Yamunanagar, Fatehabad municipal council, MC Hisar, MC Manesar and Tohana municipal council.
Another ₹26 crore was approved for processing of municipal solid waste in MC Rohtak and ₹15.28 crore for dealing with legacy waste in Rewari municipal council.
The chief minister said that the beautification and solid waste management systems in urban areas should be made more modern, efficient and result-oriented to achieve the goal of clean Haryana – beautiful Haryana at a faster pace.
'For this, accountability should be ensured at every level,' he said.

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini highlights development, self-reliance and national pride in Independence Day speech
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini hoisted the national flag at state-level Independence Day celebrations in Rohtak on Friday and urged residents to turn 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' into a people's movement, emphasising that 'vocal for local' and 'local for global' initiatives are important tools to position India as the world's leading economy. Paying tributes at the Shaheedi Smarak, Saini honoured families of freedom fighters and praised Haryana's role in India's various wars, including the 1962, 1965, 1971, and Kargil conflicts. He lauded the armed forces' valour and India's technological self-reliance demonstrated through military operations like Sindoor and Mahadev. He noted the repeal of three colonial-era criminal laws as a major step toward modernising India's legal framework. Saini stated that Haryana would play a pivotal role in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal of Viksit Bharat–to make India a developed nation by 2047. Haryana, a leading foodgrain contributor, manufactures every second car and 52 per cent of India's tractors, he said. Reflecting on the past 10 and a half years of governance, Saini highlighted efforts to eradicate corruption, eliminate discrimination, and digitise over 100 government services through the Parivar Pehchan Patra system. 'Haryana is now recognised for merit-based recruitment, online transfers, and educated panchayats. Notably, 1.80 lakh jobs have been provided in this period, with 30,000 based purely on merit. The Common Eligibility Test has been institutionalised, and Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam employees now receive legal safeguards like DA and annual increments. Overseas jobs have also been facilitated for 5,000 youth. Public safety remains a top priority. Emergency response time averages just over seven minutes, and strict directives have been issued to curb crime,' Saini said. In the agricultural sector, Saini highlighted that 'all crops in Haryana are procured at minimum support prices, with Rs. 1.48 lakh crore transferred directly to 12 lakh farmers. Compensation worth Rs 15,465 crore has been paid for crop losses, and new laws like the Agriculture Land Lease Act have been introduced. Nearly Rs 7,000 crore has also been transferred under the PM-Kisan scheme'. On social welfare, Saini outlined major steps including raising the Other Backward Classes creamy layer income limit to Rs 8 lakh, providing OBC-B reservation, and allotting land to marginalised communities. The chief minister also mentioned the increased benefit of Rs 71,000 under the Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojana and the social security pensions, 'now covering 10 new disability categories', raised to Rs 3,000. 'Healthcare has seen major expansion under schemes like Ayushman Bharat–Chirayu, benefiting 22 lakh individuals. Free dialysis is now available in all government hospitals. Every district will have a medical college—15 are operational, and nine are under construction. In sports and fitness, 250 indoor gyms have been set up across rural areas in 19 districts, aligning with the Fit India–Hit India mission. Women's empowerment has been bolstered through initiatives like Lado Sakhi, drone training for women, and 50 per cent panchayat representation. One-third of ration depots and many Vita outlets are operated by women. Thirty of the 80 new colleges established are for girls, who now receive free education up to post-graduation,' Saini added. Talking about industrial growth and urban development, Saini said that over 150 investor services were now available online, with approvals granted within 12 days, adding that 7.66 lakh micro, small and medium enterprises had created 39 lakh jobs in the past 10 and a half years of BJP rule. According to the chief minister, nearly 5,900 villages in Haryana receive 24×7 electricity and tap water reaches every rural household. 'Urban development allocations have tripled, and 2,147 unauthorised colonies have been regularised. The state now has 21 new national highways, with air services starting at Maharaja Agrasen Airport and metro expansion underway', Saini said further concluding his address by asserting that 'Haryana's future will reflect prosperity, inclusivity, and growth'. Saini called on citizens to commit themselves to building a Viksit Bharat and a Viksit Haryana, grounded in cultural pride and national unity.

Rohtak: Extending special Independence Day greetings to the soldiers who protect the country's borders day and night, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday paid tributes to the unknown martyrs who died for freedom. 'This festival of independence is a festival of every person, a festival of every heart, a day of pride and glory for every Indian,' he said in his address after unfurling the national flag in Rohtak. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said, 'This time too, the whole country was painted in the colour of patriotism with Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan.' 'It is a matter of pride for all of us that the people of Haryana played a leading role in the freedom movement. The first spark of the revolution of 1857 broke out from Ambala Cantonment,' said the Chief Minister. He said ex gratia for the families of soldiers martyred in the war was increased to Rs one crore. Also, jobs were given to 410 dependents of martyrs, and a decision was taken to give 10 per cent reservation in jobs to Agniveers. 'Today, we have become the fourth-largest economic power in the world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon the countrymen to adopt Swadeshi. Our armies have introduced the strategic power and capability of India to the whole world with their valour and bravery," the CM said. 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set the goal of making India a 'developed nation' by the 100th anniversary of Independence in 2047. In the past 10 and a half years, we have freed the people of the state from the system of discrimination. Our promises of giving jobs without any expenses, online transfer, educated panchayats and Antyodaya Abhiyan are being discussed all over the country today,' he said. CM Saini said that out of the 217 resolutions taken during the Assembly elections, 41 have been fulfilled in the past 10 months. 'In the third term, the government has given jobs to 30,000 youth without any expenses. The future of the youth working under Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam has also been secured. All 24 crops of farmers are being purchased at the minimum support price (MSP). The Backward Creamy layer income limit of the class has been increased from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh,' he said. He said land has been given to Prajapati Samaj in 1,700 villages to run a pottery business. Also, 1,47,000 houses were constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to provide a roof over the heads of the poor. Free dialysis service was also started for kidney treatment across the state. The CM said till now 2,13,000 women have been made Lakhpati Didi in the state, and 100 women were given free drones and training under 'Drone Didi Yojana'.
