Fashion Network28-04-2025

The Denim Première Vision show will be back for the fourth consecutive time in Milan, where it will stage its 35th edition, featuring over 80 exhibitors with their Fall/Winter 2026-27 collections at the Superstudio Piu venue.
Among the event's novelties, a new educational programme called ' Project Tomorrow', catering to students from fashion, design and art schools. The initiative is the natural continuation of the collaborations set up during previous editions of the show, across different generations of fashion creatives.
Exhibitors at Denim PV's 35th edition will include 44 Italian manufacturers and suppliers, and almost as many denim specialists from Turkey. Nine exhibitors will come from Japan, three from China, two from France, and there will be several specialists from the USA and Morocco.
'Back in Milan, the latest edition of Denim Première Vision will be celebrating the denim industry,' said Florence Rousson, CEO of Première Vision and managing director of The Creative Pole at GL Events. 'The event is a staple of the Italian trade show sector, and is held under the patronage of the city of Milan. It will offer denim manufacturers a wealth of business opportunities, innovations and meetings specific to one of the most iconic sectors of the global textile industry, at the service of collective creativity in motion,' she added.
The show will include the seventh edition of Denim Fashion District, focusing on collections of finished products. Among the names exhibiting in this section, Fade Out Label, Stripes Off Road, Daily Blue by Adriano Goldschmied, Kelly Konings, Rita Ammeg, Borsa Fatta Da me, Floriana, Lucia Chain, Marcello Pipitone, Materia, and Sasha Neema Ponte.
Denim PV will offer visitors and exhibitors a rich conference programme, covering the trends for Fall/Winter 2026-27, the latest industry innovations in terms of fibres and material construction, the future of jacquard fabrics in fashion, and the concept of social sourcing.
In May 2024, Denim PV attracted 2,000 visitors in Milan. The number grew to 2,610 last December, during a session that was characterised by a remarkable commercial energy

Italy opens menswear show season with Pitti Uomo, Milan Fashion Week

This season's edition of Milan Fashion Week Men will be rather low-key, clearly feeling the impact of the global geo-political and economic crisis. It will feature 81 events, including 44 presentations, 17 special events and 15 runway shows, plus five digital shows that will be streamed on the week's final morning, on Tuesday, June 24. Only three among Italian fashion's leading names will feature on the Milanese calendar this season: Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani and Prada, while Zegna will be showing in Dubai, and many other labels have opted to present their menswear collections with womenswear at the September fashion week. Some emerging labels that have made their mark on the Milanese fashion landscape in recent years will also give this edition a miss, like Magliano, which is replacing its habitual show with a movie screening, JordanLuca, and Indian designer Dhruv Kapoor. Milan will however rely on four 'new' names to freshen up the calendar, starting with British label Paul Smith, which is quitting Paris this season to show at its Milanese showroom on June 21. The other new entries on Milan's menswear programme are Setchu by Japanese designer Satoshi Kuwata, winner of the 2023 LVMH Prize, which will kick off proceedings on Friday, June 20; long-standing Italian label Fiorucci, in the midst of a major relaunch; and Qasimi, the menswear label by Hoor Al Qasimi, originally from the UAE. Two comebacks worth mentioning are those of Vivienne Westwood, which will stage a presentation, and Spanish designers Miguel Vieira and David Catalán, showing on Monday, June 23. The same day will end with the first runway show by French designer Emma Rowen Rose with her baroque-chic, made-in-Italy label Rowen Rose, which is set to launch a menswear line on this occasion. Before passing the baton to Paris, Milan Fashion Week will be enlivened by a few big parties, including those celebrating Dsquared2's 30th anniversary and Jacob Cohen's 40th.

Two UK men jailed for 'brazen' gold toilet heist

James Sheen, 40, and Michael Jones, 39, were jailed at Oxford Crown Court in central England for four years and 27 months respectively. The sentences came as it was revealed that Sheen is already serving 19 years in jail for a string of other offences including a museum burglary and attacks on cash machines. The fully functioning 18-carat artwork was stolen in a raid on an exhibition at Blenheim Palace -- the birthplace of Winston Churchill -- near central Oxford in September 2019. The toilet artwork dubbed "America" was created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan and had been on display as one of the star attractions at an exhibition in the 18th-century home. Passing sentence, Judge Ian Pringle said: "This bold and brazen heist took no more than five-and-a-half minutes to complete. "America has never been seen again." Weighing around 98 kilograms (216 pounds), the artwork was insured for $6 million and was made with 20 kilograms of gold valued at around £2.8 million. It was stolen just hours after a glamorous exhibition launch party by the sledgehammer-wielding thieves. Prosecutors said the work was likely broken up or melted down and sold soon after the theft. The gold has not been recovered. It is believed that Sheen took the 20 kilos of gold to the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter on September 2019 and sold it for £26,000 a kilogram -- earning £520,000. Jurors heard earlier that Sheen first got in touch with a third man, Frederick Doe, two days after the raid to ask if he could help him sell some of the gold. Doe replied to Sheen in a WhatsApp message: "I do know just the man you need to see." The 37-year-old, described by a judge as a "foolish" middleman, escaped jail for his role in the heist. He was handed a suspended sentenced last month after being found guilty of conspiracy to transfer criminal property. Jones previously said he used the toilet at Blenheim Palace the day before it was taken. Asked what it was like, he told the court it was "splendid". Sheen admitted burglary and money laundering offences. Judge Pringle said his four-year jail term would be added to the 19 years he is already serving. Jones was found guilty of burglary after an earlier trial.
