Dubai Municipality and Dubai Courts sign agreement to establish dispute resolution centre for citizens' home construction at Al Manara Center
The agreement aims to strengthen the legal and regulatory framework for housing projects, while delivering integrated government services that enhance quality of life and address citizens' needs with speed and efficiency. The new centre will resolve disputes arising from home construction contracts between citizens and contractors, creating a supportive legal environment that promotes family and social stability, ensures project sustainability, and safeguards the rights of all stakeholders.

His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said: 'This collaboration with Dubai Courts to establish the Citizens' Home Construction Dispute Resolution Center marks an important step in strengthening Dubai's housing ecosystem and ensuring its sustainability. The centre will regulate relationships between citizens, contractors, and consultants, helping to achieve the highest standards of family comfort and stability. His Excellency Prof. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director General of Dubai Courts, said: 'The Citizens' Home Construction Dispute Resolution Center represents a qualitative leap in developing legal services related to housing projects. It reflects Dubai Courts' commitment to enhancing judicial efficiency and providing innovative solutions that deliver justice in a flexible and swift manner, in line with our vision of achieving leadership and judicial excellence in a global city.'
He added: 'The centre, in collaboration with Dubai Municipality, will provide an integrated environment for dispute resolution, reducing litigation time, easing the burden on courts, and accelerating access to fair solutions that safeguard the interests of all parties. This initiative sets a model for inter-agency cooperation in serving the community and reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable judicial services.'
Dubai Municipality will provide technical and logistical support to ensure smooth operations, including engineering expertise to assist judicial services and reduce litigation timelines. Dubai Courts will establish and operate the centre according to the highest judicial and administrative standards, ensuring efficient dispute resolution and the adoption of innovative solutions that enhance citizen satisfaction.
Al Manara Center has been selected as the hub for the new centre due to its central location, which makes court services easily accessible to the widest number of citizens. The centre will also provide a unique experience by hosting services from both local and federal government entities under one roof.

Dubai to get 200 ultra-fast EV charging stations by 2025 under Parkin–e& deal
Parkin has signed a 10-year agreement with charge&go to supercharge Dubai's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure with 200 ultra-fast direct current (DC) charging stations. The project, scheduled to launch in October 2025, will cut charging times to under 30 minutes through advanced DC technology. The network will be rolled out at key destinations across Dubai, including high-density residential communities, major retail centres and leisure hubs, aligning with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and supporting the needs of more than 40,000 EVs currently on the road. EV charging in Dubai Phase one of the initiative will see the installation of 20 charging stations in some of the city's busiest areas, followed by a full rollout of 200 public and private charging points over the next 12 months. Unlike conventional alternating current (AC) systems, DC charger technology enables significantly faster charging. Customers will also benefit from real-time status updates, booking options and secure in-app payments through Parkin's mobile application. Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy supports 308 startups in H1 2025, up 39% year-on-year
Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy has revealed that it supported 308 high-potential digital startups to establish and grow their businesses in the emirate during the first half of 2025, marking a 39 per cent increase compared to the 221 companies supported in the same period last year. Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications and Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, said: 'We are committed to developing an integrated digital business environment that provides the foundations for success for talents and digital companies, and supports their expansion from Dubai to global markets. 'We continue our efforts to enhance Dubai's attractiveness as a global hub for digital companies, entrepreneurs, and technology investors by strengthening the digital infrastructure, enhancing the legislative and regulatory environment, and creating an ecosystem that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship.' Iraq signs agreement with US energy giant Chevron on oil exploration
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani announced an agreement in principle on Tuesday between the Ministry of Oil and US energy company Chevron. Mr Al Sudani's office said the agreement includes four exploration blocks, the development of the Balad oilfield and possibly other fields and projects. During a meeting with Chevron vice president Frank Mount in Iraq, Mr Al Sudani welcomed the company's return to work in the country, 'affirming that the government has adopted a different approach in dealing with major oil companies and their investments in Iraq, particularly American ones', his office said. Mr Al Sudani also spoke of Chevron's efforts in transferring oil technology to Iraq, its community contributions and environmental policies it follows in its oil projects. Mr Mount celebrated the "heads of agreement" with Iraq as an important milestone. 'Iraq is a major producer of crude oil and holds substantial oil and gas resources," he said in a statement. "We are confident that Chevron, with its proven track record and expertise in successfully developing oil and gas projects, has the resources, experience and technology to support Iraq to further develop new energy resources.' The agreement in principle follows one made by US company SLB – formerly known as Schlumberger – in July. The contract signed between Iraq's Ministry of Oil and SLB was aimed at boosting natural gas production at the Akkas gasfield. Iraq's Oil Minister Hayan Abdel Ghani said at the time that the deal aimed to raise production levels to 100 million standard cubic feet a day. Mr Al Sudani also held talks with Baker Hughes chief executive Lorenzo Simonelli this year to discuss the US energy technology company's projects in Iraq. Despite being the second-largest producer in Opec, Iraq still depends on Iran for about a third of its electricity needs. Baghdad has come under increasing pressure from Washington to be less reliant on Tehran.
