Fundraising site for October 7 ceremony targeted in alleged Hack
The fundraising website for the national memorial ceremony organized by families of October 7 victims has allegedly been hacked, the Kumu movement said in a statement on Wednesday.
A complaint has been filed by the group with the Israel Police.
According to the statement, hundreds of supporters attempting to donate to the group were blocked, raising suspicion of 'malicious and coordinated attacks' on the donation campaign.
'Over the past 48 hours, we have witnessed organized attempts to harm and disrupt the fundraising site for the national memorial ceremony,' Yonatan Shamriz, founder of Kumu and brother of deceased Gaza hostage Alon Shamriz, said.
'It is very sad that there are those trying to sabotage the memory and the event, but we are moving forward. On October 7, the families will hold a respectful, unifying, and large ceremony, as it should be. We call on the public to support and assist us in this mission.'
The campaign was transferred to a new platform
The group's technical team transferred the campaign to Giveback, and over the past 24 hours, Kumu has raised NIS 130,000 through crowdfunding and an additional NIS 250,000 through private donors.
Last year, the national memorial ceremony raised over NIS 3 million through crowdfunding.

The IDF, on Sunday, announced that it has launched a last-chance opportunity for anyone who hasn't advanced with their draft notice, which would allow them to enlist in an accelerated process. The last-ditch effort came at the heels of several arrests made by the military against several haredi draft dodgers over the past week. Currently, there are some 14,600 deserters. Ultra-Orthodox Jews block central Israel highways, protest outside military prison
Haredi protesters have frequently posted outside of Beit Lid base due to the military prison within the base. Multiple intersections were closed to traffic due to mass ultra-Orthodox protests against the conscription of haredim into the IDF, Israel Police stated on Wednesday. Highways 6, 4, and 2 were blocked, and an additional protest took place on Highway 57 outside of Beit Lid army base, where the military prison is located. A grieving father of an American woman killed while serving on Israel's border patrol was verbally abused by neighbors who shouted antisemitic slurs and mocked him for his daughter's death, according to the hurting dad and video.
