Woman berated for eating smelly meal on long-haul flight

Perth Now6 hours ago

An American woman has upset fellow travellers after she prepared a meal including boiled eggs during a long-haul flight earlier this month.
Jess Marra embarked on the ten-hour journey from Los Angeles to Paris equipped with ziplock bags and containers full of prepared ingredients to assemble an alternative meal during the flight.
The healthy meal choice sparked outrage online after the LA digital marketing worker shared a video of herself digging in to the questionable choice of protein.
In the clip that has since gone viral, Jess can be seen sitting in the window seat as she cuts an avocado and empties salad dressing and mixed leaves into a reusable container to go alongside the boiled eggs.
'Making my own healthy dinner on a 10 hour flight bc free will exists,' text over the video read.
Mortified viewers took to the comments to air their disapproval.
'Just because you can eat an egg on a flight doesn't mean you should,' one person wrote.
'Please take a kind hint from the majority of comments here and leave those boiled eggs at home next time…' another added.
'No one likes you on this flight….. no one,' a third agreed.
'New fear unlocked: I get on a plane and the person next to me starts making an egg salad,' another wrote.
Jess has defended her unpopular decision, editing the post's caption just days ago to reassure her haters.
'Bc I hate plane food ✈️also i swear the SOFT BOILED egg didn't smell but will take the judgement,' the updated caption stated.
The jet setter has poked fun at her viral moment during her most recent work trip, where she opted for a single-serve yoghurt and pre-package beverage for her in-flight snack.
'Today's plane snax for all my haters' the update on Instagram stories said. Jess Marra's lighthearted response to the backlash. Credit: Instagram

Bruce Springsteen brands Donald Trump 'a moron' in latest scathing attack

Bruce Springsteen has branded President Donald Trump a "moron" in a new scathing attack. The Born in the U.S.A. hitmaker, who has been locked in war of words with the world leader, has branded the current state of his home country an "American tragedy" and lambasted the man in charge. He told The New York Times: 'It's an American tragedy. 'I think that it was the combination of the deindustrialisation of the country and then the incredible increase in wealth disparity that left so many people behind. It was ripe for a demagogue. 'And while I can't believe it was this moron that came along, he fit the bill for some people. But what we've been living through in the last 70 days is things that we all said, 'This can't happen here.' 'This will never happen in America.' And here we are.' The Boss then went in on Trump's controversial immigration policies, which led to riots in Los Angeles, and saw Trump deploy thousands of National Guardsmen to "address the lawlessness" in the US city amid the unrest over Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He said: 'When I went to California, obviously there was a large migrant culture. I was interested in the history of it, because I felt that this is the future of the United States — which it has become.' Springsteen said it's "disgusting" and a "terrible tragedy" what's happening in US. He continued: 'There are communities all across America now that have taken in immigrants and migrant workers. So what's going on at the moment to me is disgusting, and a terrible tragedy. 'We have a long democratic history. We don't have an autocratic history as a nation. It's fundamentally democratic, and I believe that at some point that's going to rear its head and things will swing back. Let's knock on wood.' Trump, 78, was left furious after The Boss, 75, hit out at the "corruption" and "incompetence" of the Trump administration during a recent concert in Manchester, and Trump responded with a lengthy rant via his social media platform Truth Social. Trump blasted Springsteen as a 'pushy, obnoxious JERK'. Springsteen made three separate rants against the "corruption" and "incompetence" of the Trump administration. After opening the gig with a performance of Land of Hope and Dreams, he told the audience: "It's great to be in Manchester and back in the UK. Welcome to the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour! The mighty E St. Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock 'n' roll in dangerous times." A short while after, several musicians spoke out in support of Springsteen, including Neil Young, who insisted he wasn't "scared" of Trump.

Rap icon Drake reveals the jaw dropping amount he has gambled and lost in the past month

R&B superstar Drake shared online the jaw dropping amount of money he has not only gambled but lost in the past month. The 38-year-old, born Aubrey Graham, has a long and public history of gambling but only just gave fans an inside peak into how much he is spending - and losing. In his betting slip posted to Instagram story on Wednesday, the rapper revealed that he has spent a whopping $192 million on gambling in just the past month — while losing $12m. 'Gotta share the other side of gambling.... losses are so fried right now,' Drake wrote in the caption of his Instagram story. 'I hope I can post a big win for you all soon cause I'm the only one that has never seen a max, these guys max once a week.' Drake has been very open and public with his gambling for years now, often backing the losing side which has coined the term the 'Drake Curse'. A belief that any team that Drake bets on will lose, with examples including $1.8m on Sean Strickland in UFC 297, $1.5m on the Toronto Maple Leafs in game seven in 2019 and $549,000 on Mike Tyson to beat Jake Paul — all bets that lost. The Canadian rapper does all of his gambling on the website which he has a partnership with that sees im doing live streams using their online casino and sports books. His live streams became popular and a viral moment came when Drake said 'I need a max win', which fans and viewers shared online. The slogan was characterised by the rapper as 'Anita Max Wynn', which he sold on merchandise and became the name of his tour that stopped off in Perth earlier this year. Despite the losses, the founder of OVO Sound is not slowing down, posting another bet slip for game six of the NBA finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers.
