LIVERPOOL icon Dirk Kuyt has left his role as Beerschot boss after a rollercoaster spell in Belgium.
The 44-year-old had only taken charge of Dutch minnows ADO Den Haag before being snapped up by Beerschot in December 2023.

Kuyt made an immediate impact at the second-tier side as he guided them to promotion by winning the title.
But the former striker's time in the top-flight was a disaster as Beerschot finished bottom with just five wins from 36 outings.
And despite remaining popular with fans, Kuyt has now been shown the door by his club.
A Beerschot statement confirmed: 'The club sincerely thanks Kuyt for his dedication, commitment and positive contribution.
'His energy and involvement were a source of inspiration within the group of players.
'We wish him every success in the rest of his coaching career.'
Kuyt is now on the hunt for a new role and will be hoping his next steps mirror the success of his career as a player.
After banging in 149 goals during eight seasons in his native Netherlands, Kuyt left Feyenoord for Liverpool in 2006.
The forward, who became a hit with supporters for his non-stop work rate, netted 71 goals in 285 games while leading Liverpool to Carabao Cup glory in 2012.
After leaving in 2012, he spent three seasons with Turks Fenerbahce where he won the league title.

Kuyt then rejoined Dutch giants Feyenoord and scored a final-day hat-trick to secure the 2017 Eredivisie title before retiring 72 hours later.
Kuyt also enjoyed success with his international side and scored 24 goals in 104 outings as the Netherlands lost the 2010 World Cup final to Spain before finishing third four years later.

Kevin Durant buys a minority stake in PSG as Champions League winners consider 'potential' plans to create a BASKETBALL franchise

NBA star Kevin Durant has purchased a minority stake in Paris Saint-Germain and will help consult on the Champions League winner's plans to expand into basketball. Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), who own the French champions, signed an investment and stratgeic partnership with two-time NBA champion Durant on Friday. The agreement will see Durant 'consult' on the club's 'multi-sport strategy, including potential plans in basketball'. PSG already have handball and judo teams to add to their footballing sides. And QSI have previously expressed an interest in launching a basketball franchise in Paris. The Durant deal comes amid discussions between the NBA and FIBA about a new European league. PSG's formation would come as part of the NBA's possible European expansion, under the name NBA Europe. NBA commissioner Adam Silver wants to launch a new professional league in Europe with 16 teams, with franchises in London and Paris, and defectors from the EuroLeague. There is already a Parisian team in the EuroLeague but sources told The Athletic that PSG have ambitions to join NBA Europe. Last month, Durant was ranked as the world's tenth highest paid athelete on Forbes' rich list. The 36-year-old earned an estimated $101.4m (£76.1m) last year alone. The American had previously invested millions in a shareholding in Paris Saint-Germain via investment firm Boardroom. In a press release, Durant said: 'It is an honour to partner with QSI and be a shareholder in Paris Saint-Germain — a club and a city that is so close to my heart. 'This club has big plans ahead and I can't wait to be a part of the next phase of growth; and to explore new investment opportunities with QSI.' Nasser Al-Khelaifi, chairman of Qatar Sports Investments, added: 'QSI is pleased to welcome Kevin Durant as a direct shareholder in Paris Saint-Germain and strategic partner of our group. 'We continually seek to elevate the club and our broader portfolio through high-impact partnerships that bring strategic value, innovation, and global perspective. Together with Kevin, we look forward to developing ambitious initiatives that will drive the continued global growth of Paris Saint-Germain and QSI.'

'Greatest comeback ever' - fans on top five St James' Park moments

We asked for your views on John Anderson's top five moments at St James' Park. Suffice to say, some of you didn't are some of your comments:Tony: He has missed the biggest one. It nearly cost me my soon-to-be-completed marriage. David Kelly's last-minute winner vs Portsmouth. If we had lost, we could go down to the third division; we win, get a result at Leicester the next week, and the rest is Newcastle 4 - 4 Arsenal has to be on there. Greatest comeback ever with the legend Tiote scoring the equaliser. Can't believe John has missed this I watched Hatem Ben Arfa run the length of St James' Park and score. He just kept going and going. All around the ground, people were shouting: "Go on! Go on!" Louder and louder as he got nearer the Bolton goal. It built up to a crescendo, and then he scored. It was just a thing of beauty. My favourite moment. I was with my young son, which I think made it more special as we got to share The Bowyer/Dyer incident should not even make the top 100 St James' Park moments! The 4-4 comeback game against Arsenal should replace it!Ozzy: John Anderson missed out on Newcastle 4 - 4 Arsenal. We were losing 4-0 after 26 minutes, and it remained like that at half-time. The Toon played brilliantly in the second half and, following Arsenal going down to 10 men, gradually pulled back the deficit with goals. Tiote's long-range, low bullet to equalise with only a couple of minutes to go sent St James' absolutely King Kev's debut against QPR and scoring the winning goal! St James' Park rammed full for the first time in years. The whole city was on fire with excitement, and the world's press all over the ground. Kevin Keegan: a legend!

Gareth Bale makes takeover approach to buy former Premier League club from unpopular owner following Plymouth links

GARETH BALE wants to buy hometown club Cardiff. But it is believed the desire to acquire the club, relegated from the Championship, remains strong. The 35-year-old was born in Cardiff and his uncle Chris Pike played for the Welsh club as a striker between 1989 and 1993. Bale, who had a glittering career for Southampton, Tottenham, Real Madrid and LAFC as well as for the Dragons, had been linked with a takeover at Plymouth. He did not play for Cardiff but the ex-forward did have talks with the club in 2022 after he left Real. Instead, Bale went to LAFC before he officially retired in January 2023. Cardiff appointed Brian Barry-Murphy this week ahead of their first campaign in the third tier since 2003. Watch hilarious moment Gareth Bale's golf ball stolen by a DOG as baffled Real Madrid legend watches on After Omer Riza was sacked in April, Wales star Aaron Ramsey was interim boss for three games.
