Getting A Small Breather From the Rain

After a round of stronger storms on Monday, we get a breather from stormy conditions over the next few days. Here is a look at the last 24 hours. We are at 0.50″ at Huntsville International almost two weeks into June. Futurecast is quiet through the middle of the week. We have drier air behind a cold front. After some early morning showers Tuesday, we are free and clear for awhile. You can get out and mow the grass later today. Father's Day weekend could turn a little more stormy for the Tennessee Valley. We will have more updates as we get closer to the weekend. Stay with the Weather Authority! Tuesday, June 10 forecast: Warm & sunny for a few days

It was a beautiful day on Monday and the weather will cooperate for us again today! Temperatures will comfortably rise to the low to mid-80s this afternoon under sunny skies. Winds will be light from the west-northwest around 5 to 10 mph. Humidity levels today will be low, but may creep up again on Wednesday. Download our KOLR 10 weather app Tonight will be an ideal evening if you're going out. Temperatures will slowly slide from the 80s to the upper 60s by 10 PM. We'll find ourselves in the low 60s on Wednesday morning with a light south breeze. Temperatures will be warmer on Wednesday afternoon, reaching the mid to upper 80s. The humidity may return slightly on Wednesday, but not oppressively. Rain chances and cloud cover will creep back in from the southwest as a strung-out storm slowly makes its way out of Texas and through the region. The storm system may not organize until late Thursday before producing scattered rain, but a few showers are possible during the day. Rain is more likely on Friday with scattered showers and storms returning. The slow-moving storm will likely be close enough through the weekend to generate a daily chance for scattered showers and storms. Locally heavy rain amounts and lightning will be concerns, but severe weather is not expected at this time. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Shift in the Jet Stream

After waves of severe storms and heavy rainfall this month, the Jet Stream is shifting after the latest rounds of storms moved out of our State last night. Going forward, at least for now, the Jet Stream is de-energized some. A 'weakness' in the flow, kind of an 'echo' of storms Monday and Tuesday of this week in Texas will move up over our State Wednesday and Thursday. There is a chance of rain and a few storms but rainfall totals will not be nearly as heavy. Mike June 9th, 2025 Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
