Preview: Parma vs Juventus
Juventus will be in Parma on Easter Monday, facing off against the Gialloblu at the Ennio Tardini Stadium in Matchday 33 of this season's Serie A campaign.
While indulging in your favourite chocolate eggs, read up on the pre-match facts and figures below:
Head-to-head
Juventus has scored at least two goals in each of their last four matches against Parma in Serie A. The Bianconeri have never scored more than one goal in five straight matches against the Gialloblu (four also between 2007 and 2010 and between 2002 and 2004).
Parma has won only one of its last 15 Serie A games (4D, 10L) against Juventus, the 1-0 victory at the Tardini in April 2015. The Emiliani have conceded 97 goals against the Bianconeri in the tournament: only against Roma have they conceded more (100).
Juventus has won its last two matches against Parma in the second half of the Serie A season, and only once did they reach three wins in a row against the Gialloblu in the second half of the season, between 1994 and 1996.
Parma drew the first leg match (2-2) earlier this season against Juventus; the Ducali could remain unbeaten in both of their seasonal Serie A challenges against the Bianconeri for the first time in the competition since 2010/11.
Juventus has won their last three away matches played against Parma in Serie A, equalling their longest open streak of consecutive away victories, considering the teams in this league (three also against Como and Udinese).
Interesting Facts
Parma has drawn all its last five league matches and could draw at least six matches in a row for the first time in their Serie A history (five also between April and May 2019).
Juventus has won eight of its 13 matches in the second half of this Serie A season (2D, 3L), already three more than they did in the second half of last season (5W, 10D, 4L) and only one win less than Roma and Inter who hold the record for the most wins (nine for both) in the second half of the season.
Among the teams in the bottom half of the standings, only Como has won more points (17) than Parma (16) against opponents currently occupying the top half of the table; moreover, the Gialloblu have gone undefeated in each of the last four of these challenges (draws with Fiorentina, Inter, Torino, and a win over Bologna).
Parma has 16 different scorers in the league this season, while Juventus have 15, as have Bologna, Lazio and Udinese – only Inter with 17 has done better this season.
Juventus is the team with the highest percentage of shots on target (52%) - Parma ranks 12th with 46%.
Player Numbers
Dusan Vlahovic has scored nine goals in 25 league games this season and in the event of a goal against Parma, he would become the second player to go into double figures in each of the last five Serie A seasons after Lautaro Martínez.
Kenan Yildiz scored six goals and provided two assists this season; the Juventus player could reach 10 goal contributions being 20 years old at the end of the season, from 2004/05 onward the youngest Juventus player with at least 10 goal contributions at the end of the year was Paul Pogba in 2013/14 (21 years old, 7G+7A).
Teun Koopmeiners has scored nine goals from outside the box in Serie A (the last in May 2024 with Atalanta against Salernitana); since his debut season in the tournament (2021/22), only Dusan Vlahovic and Paulo Dybala have done better (10 apiece, at nine also Ruslan Malinovskyi).
Among goalkeepers with at least 10 appearances this season, Michele Di Gregorio has the highest clean sheet percentage: 44 percent, the result of 12 matches with an unbeaten goal in 27 games.
In his only match against Parma in Serie A, Timothy Weah contributed both a goal and an assist; that was so far the only match with both a goal and assist for the Bianconeri player in Serie A.

Simone Inzaghi resigns as coach of Inter Milan amid Saudi interest

MILAN (AP) — The 5-0 rout by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final was Simone Inzaghi's final match in charge of Inter Milan. 'The time has come for me to say goodbye to this club after a run of four years during which I gave everything,' Inzaghi wrote in a letter to Inter fans on the club website Tuesday. Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal is reportedly trying to lure Inzaghi with an offer of more than 20 million euros ($23 million) per season. Inzaghi coached Inter to the Serie A title last year, and was also in charge when the Nerazzurri lost the 2023 Champions League title to Manchester City. He was at Inter for exactly four years and had one more season remaining on his contract. It's unclear now who will coach Inter at the Club World Cup in the United States starting June 14. Inter opens against Monterrey on June 17 — a day before Al-Hilal opens against Real Madrid. There has been speculation that Inter would go after Cesc Fabregas, who coached Como to a 10th-place finish in Serie A. Inter finished second in the Italian league last month, one point behind champion Napoli. Inter was in the running for a treble until it lost to city rival AC Milan in the Italian Cup semifinals in April. Having also been beaten by Milan in the Italian Super Cup final in Saudi Arabia in January, the Nerazzurri didn't win a trophy this season. The coaching change at Inter is just one of many managerial moves among the top Italian teams this offseason, with Milan, Roma, Atalanta and others making changes.
