Jason Momoa Returning for "Dune 3"
Yara Sameh
Duncan Idaho is back.
During an appearance on '
TODAY
,' Jason Momoa confirmed that his 'Dune' character will return for the forthcoming third entry of Denis Villeneuve's epic sci-fi franchise starring Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya.
'I'm making a comeback,' he said. 'You heard it first, right here with you, baby.'
Momoa first appeared as the swordmaster and mentor to Chalamet's Paul Artreides in 2021's 'Dune,' but Duncan sacrifices himself near the end of the film to allow Paul and his mother Jessica to escape from Sardaukar soldiers.
In the six-part book series from Frank Herbert, Duncan eventually returns in the form of a clone.
Addressing if Duncan's reappearance would follow suit, Momoa said, 'Well, I'm not sure if I'm going to get in trouble or not, but it's the same thing like 'Game of Thrones', you know what I mean?' he said. 'If you didn't read the books, it's not my fault, right? Yeah, there's going to be … I'm going to be coming back.'
Legendary confirmed in April 2024 that development on 'Dune 3' was underway following the blockbuster success of 'Dune: Part 2,' which grossed $711 million worldwide earlier that year.
Villeneuve said last year that the third film, based on 'Dune: Messiah,' will not be the completion of a trilogy in his eyes. 'First, it's important that people understand that for me, it was really a diptych,' Villeneuve said of the first two 'Dune' movies. 'It was really a pair of movies that will be the adaptation of the first book. That's done and that's finished. If I do a third one, which is in the writing process, it's not like a trilogy. It's strange to say that, but if I go back there, it's to do something that feels different and has its own identity.'

"Lilo & Stitch 2" Live-Action Movie in Works
Yara Sameh Get ready for more Stitch mayhem. Disney is developing a sequel to its live-action remake of " Lilo & Stitch ". The studio announced the follow-up on 6/26 — a reference to the wild blue alien's government name, Experiment 626. In a brief teaser, Stitch drives a hot-pink convertible through the Disney lot as he shouts, 'Get ready. Here we go!'. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Walt Disney Studios (@disneystudios) News of the follow-up film comes as 'Lilo & Stitch' has grossed over $910 million at the global box office since Memorial Day weekend. Originally planned as a straight-to-streaming release, the PG adventure is on pace to become the year's first billion-dollar blockbuster, and this is just the theatrical windfall. Long before he and Lilo returned to the big screen, Stitch-themed merchandise has remained a huge moneymaker for Disney in the 23 years since the original 2002 animated film. In 2024, Disney sold $2.6 billion in consumer products featuring the 'Lilo & Stitch' characters. 'Lilo & Stitch' follows an adorable blue extraterrestrial creature who crash-lands in Hawaii and gets adopted by a young girl and her older sister. Dean Fleischer Camp directed the remake, which is benefiting from generation-spanning appeal a short two decades after the original 2002 animated film. Disney hasn't announced the details, including the creative team, plot details or release timeline, for the sequel. 'Lilo & Stitch' is one of Disney's more successful live-action remakes, joining the likes of 2019's 'The Lion King,' 2017's 'Beauty and the Beast' and 2019's 'Aladdin.' However, not every Disney classic has proved worthy of the revival treatment, with this year's 'Snow White' and 2019's 'Dumbo' among its costly box office failures. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

Denis Villeneuve to Direct Next James Bond Film at Amazon
Yara Sameh Oscar-nominated Denis Villeneuve will direct the next James Bond film, the first from Amazon MGM Studios. Tanya Lapointe, Villeneuve's artistic partner and wife, will also serve as an executive producer, along with Villeneuve. As previously announced, Amy Pascal and David Heyman will serve as producers. 'Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007. I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since 'Dr. No' with Sean Connery. I'm a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he's sacred territory,' Villeneuve said. 'I intend to honor the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come. This is a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honor. Amy, David, and I are absolutely thrilled to bring him back to the screen. Thank you to Amazon MGM Studios for their trust." Pascal and Heyman added, 'Denis Villeneuve has been in love with James Bond movies since he was a little boy. It was always his dream to make this movie, and now it's ours, too. We are lucky to be in the hands of this extraordinary filmmaker.' Bond is one of the most sought-after franchises for filmmakers. Reportedly, directors who met for the upcoming film also included Edward Berger, Edgar Wright, and Paul King. Villeneuve is an acclaimed, Oscar-nominated French-Canadian filmmaker who most recently helmed 'Dune' and 'Dune: Part Two' for Warner Bros. The filmmaker is currently in prep on a third installment, 'Dune: Messiah', which is in development and dated for release in 2026. With the 'Dune' franchise and 'Blade Runner 2049,' Villeneuve has proven immensely capable at refreshing and wrangling established I.P., as well as helming standout original stories including 'Arrival,' 'Sicario,' 'Prisoners,' 'Enemy,' and 'Incendies.' Pascal will produce the new film via Pascal Pictures, and Heyman will produce via Heyday Films. The duo officially signed on for the roles in March, after Amazon MGM struck a landmark deal with longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson that saw them cede creative control of the Bond franchise to the streaming giant. When Amazon purchased MGM in 2021 (to the tune of $8.5 billion), the streamer acquired the rights to distribute the highly lucrative spy movies, but only owned 50% of the franchise and was relegated to being a passive partner in terms of artistic choices. Then, this Feburary, after years of stalls and false starts on a new installment following 2021's 'No Time to Die,' which saw Daniel Craig's five-film tenure as 007 come to an end, the three entities — Wilson, Broccoli and Amazon MGM — formed a joint venture to house the intellectual property rights while allowing all three to remain co-owners of the property. At CinemaCon in April, Amazon executives Courtenay Valenti and Sue Kroll teased that Pascal and Heyman were hard at work on a 'fresh, exhilarating new chapter' to the franchise. 'We are committed to honoring the legacy of this iconic character,' Valenti and Kroll said on stage at Caesars Palace. 'They're both in London getting started and couldn't be here tonight, but we wanted to thank them for what we know to make an incredible partnership.' Now, the question is who will play the superspy? read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean
