Notre Dame makes offer to Wayne Shanks Jr. The Fighting Irish could snag a speedster if Shanks Jr. commits
Notre Dame has made an offer to four-star running back recruit Wayne Shanks Jr.
Shanks, Class of 2027, is coming out of The Kinkaid School in Houston, Texas.
He stands five-foot-11 and weighs 190 pounds. He's clocked a 4.5-second 40-yard dash and 10.88-second 100-meter run.
Shanks posted a picture of current Fighting Irish running back Jeremiyah Love leaping into the end zone, so hopefully that's an indication of Shanks eventually committing to Notre Dame.

Recent emergency hardship signing Aari McDonald continued her impressive play since joining the club. After scoring seven points, assisting five times and coming away with three steals in her Fever debut during Indiana's 85-76 win over Washington on Tuesday, McDonald had another strong performance in the win over the Sky. The 5-foot-6 guard scored 12 points and knocked down a trio of 3-pointers against Chicago. McDonald also came away with four steals, two assists and one board. Indiana shot 45.8% from the field and 40.7% from beyond the arc as the Fever connected on 11 3-pointers. Meanwhile, Chicago shot just 32.7% from the field and 20.0% from the 3-point line. Reese finished with only four points on a 2-of-7 shooting night. The former LSU star grabbed 12 rebounds. The Fever are now 2-0 in Commissioner's Cup play. Kamilla Cardoso and Rebecca Allen led Chicago with eight points apiece. Indiana returns to action on Tuesday at Atlanta (5-3) from Gateway Center at 6:30 p.m. CT. The two teams have split the season's first two meetings with Atlanta winning in Indiana on May 20, 91-90, and the Fever winning at Atlanta on May 22, 81-76. Clark will be reevaluated on June 9 and could possibly return at Atlanta. "I feel like I've made a lot of progress and I feel good, and I'm not going to rush coming back. It's just not worth it. But after this weekend, I'll be reevaluated and we'll have a better idea of when I'll return," Clark said on Thursday. The Wolverines had a solid month on the recruiting trail in May, and they are hoping to see the momentum carry over into the summer. One player that is high on Michigan is four-star defensive lineman Alister Vallejo. Vallejo is down to three schools: Michigan, Notre Dame and Kansas. Alister Vallejo is a four-star recruit, according to 247Sports. He is the #203 player in the 2026 class, the #32 DL and the #31 player in the state of Texas. Vallejo currently attends Liberty Hill High School in Liberty Hill, TX. Kansas is closest to home, but Michigan and Notre Dame have better football programs. Advertisement 'Verifiably big with requisite frame to survive and potentially thrive in the trenches at the high-major level,' Vallejo's scouting report reads. 2026 4-star RB and Texas A&M commit has shut down his recruitment Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko was 100% on the mark this offseason when discussing Texas A&M's strong foundation under his leadership, which was proven this weekend during one of the biggest recruiting weekends of the summer, as the Aggies hosted 18 2026 prospects, including several commitments. Two of the top names in A&M's 2026 cycle include four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory and four-star running back Jonathan Hatton, who both shut down their recruitment on Saturday afternoon during the third day of their official visits.
