A high court judge heard how Teame's terrifying actions were caught on his own dash cam.
Lord Arthurson also heard that the attack took place on the same day that Mr Ncube was due to stand trial for conning Teame out of £9,000.
But Mr Teame experienced what his defence lawyer Duncan McPhie described on Thursday as a 'moment of madness' and took the law into his own hands.
In graphic footage captured by his car's camera, Teame sped towards the man, mounted the pavement, and sent him sprawling across the bonnet of his Mercedes Citan.
Mr Ncube fortunately escaped without any serious injury.
Teame, of Shettleston, Glasgow, initially fled the scene, but returned to court hours later and signed in at the building as a witness.
He was then observed acting calmly, shaking hands with people and sat near police officers in the moments before he was eventually arrested.
The first offender - who the court heard came to the UK from Eritrea - pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted murder earlier this year and was remanded in custody by Lord Arthurson, who called for a report into his background.
On Thursday, Teame appeared in the dock of the High Court in Edinburgh for sentencing.
Lord Arthurson said: 'The nature of the offence means a custodial sentence is inevitable.
Dad of Brit Bella Culley, who's being held in Georgia after vanishing on Thai hols, shares his fears
'The location of the offence is a material aggravation.
'In the whole circumstances, you will serve a period of imprisonment of five years and four months.'
At earlier proceedings, Lord Arthurson heard how Mr Ncube had conned Teame out of £8,721 of cash in late 2021.
Mr Ncube was later charged with a number of frauds.
A trial - previously postponed a number of times - was due to take place on the day of the crime.
Teame had been due to testify as a witness and drove to court that morning.
He initially remained in his vehicle in nearby Carlton Place for around 40 minutes before driving away and then returning shortly after.
Mr Ncube was soon spotted heading towards the court building.
Prosecutor Christopher Wilson KC said: 'Teame noticed him and began to rev the engine of his vehicle.

'While Mr Ncube was midway across the road, Teame accelerated towards him.
'Mr Ncube ran, but was struck on the left side of his body.
'The collision occurred while Mr Ncube was on the pavement. He was lifted up off his feet onto the bonnet.'
Footage of the incident from the dashcam and a CCTV camera was played in court.
Mr Ncube was briefly knocked out after being hit.
But, he managed to get back to his feet and run towards steps leading to the court.
Mr Wilson added: 'At this point, Teame drove the vehicle forward and to the left in an attempt to strike Mr Ncube as he went past.
'The vehicle collided with the wall in front of it while Mr Ncube ran up the steps.'
Teame reversed and did a U-turn away from the scene. He damaged the wheel of his car as he carried out the manoeuvre.
Mr Ncube meanwhile alerted police at the sheriff court what had happened.
He was soon taken to hospital and luckily only found to have suffered grazes to his hand as well as tenderness across his body.
Teame later calmly returned to the Sheriff court and checked in to be a witness - but he was later held by other officers following reports of the attack.
The hearing was also told that Mr Ncube was eventually convicted in January 2025 for a string of frauds, given 300 hours of unpaid work, and ordered to pay back cash to Teame.
On Thursday, Mr McPhie told the court that his client had been 'defrauded' by Ncube in the present case.
Speaking of how his client had expressed remorse for the crime, Mr McPhie added: 'As a result of him being defrauded by the complainer in this case, he was homeless and living in a shelter.
'He was working as a taxi driver and he used that taxi to commit the offence.
'At the time of the offence, he lost control and to use a cliche my lord there was a rush of blood to the head.
'He acted impulsively in his actions on the day.'
Lord Arthurson also banned Teame from driving for seven years.

Family & friends of 3 Brits facing death penalty in £300k Bali coke smuggling plot reveal horror as trio's fate awaits
THE family and friends of three Brits facing the death penalty after being accused of a £300,000 coke smuggling plot have revealed they are in "deep shock". Jon Collyer, 37, and Lisa Stocker, 39, both of Gillingham, Kent, are charged with attempting to smuggle 1kg of cocaine into Bali on February 1. 6 Brits, from left, Float, Jonathan Collyer, and Lisa Stocker are escorted by security officers before the start of their trial Credit: AP 6 The trio are charged with attempting to smuggle cocaine worth £300k into Bali Credit: EPA 6 The defendants face the three judges who will decide their fate at Denpasar's District Court Credit: AP A third Brit, Phineas Float, 31, who was allegedly due to receive the pair, was arrested a few days later. The three Brits face death by firing squad if they are found guilty of the offence under Indonesia's tough anti-drug laws. Members of their families and friends have now spoken of their horror over the drug arrests. Julian Collyer, dad of Jon, said: "I'm in deep shock, to be honest. "I'm very, very worried as any father or parent would be. I'm concerned about the court case and just very worried." Speaking to the DailyMail, the East Sussex dad revealed he spoke to his son for the first time in three weeks. A family member of mum Lisa Stocker, who wished to remain anonymous, said her kids "are desperate without her". She added: "She's just a mum. Her kids are going to be desperate without her. "It doesn't bear thinking about. I'm so shocked and I can't sleep at night thinking about what might happen to her." Stocker and Collyer allegedly brought the drugs into Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport via Doha airport in Qatar. Police claim airport security seized 994.56g of cocaine in sealed blue plastic Angel Delight packets in Collyer's suitcase. Cops allege more cocaine was found in Stocker's bag. It's claimed Float was expected to meet Collyer and Stocker at the airport. Collyer and Stocker are being tried together and Float separately, although the trio appeared together in Denpasar earlier this week. The trio's fate will be decided by three judges, since Indonesia does not have a jury system. Float was all smiles as he faced the court in Bal earlier this week. The Brit hurled abuse at the press while being walked to a holding cell. Article 113 of Indonesia narcotics law states that anyone who imports or distributes drugs is subject to the death penalty. The three have been held in Bali's notorious Kerobokan prison and it has been reported that Float has gotten into fights with other inmates. Prison authorities threatened him with being thrown into the feared 'rat cell' isolation over an alleged recent brawl with another inmate. Around 530 people, including 96 foreigners, are on death row in Indonesia, mostly for drug-related offences, according to the country's Ministry of Immigration and Corrections.

‘Crass' cops slammed for playing ‘snog, marry, kill' with mugshots of local call girls and felons
Read on to find out how playing the popular game could land you in trouble COP QUIZ FURY 'Crass' cops slammed for playing 'snog, marry, kill' with mugshots of local call girls and felons Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LAYING 'snog, marry, avoid' with colleagues at work could be sexual harassment, a tribunal has ruled. The 'crass' and 'inappropriate' game may breach the Equality Act, an Employment judge said. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up The risqué quiz involves naming three people and then asking a person to pick which one you would like to kiss, which one you would get married to and which one you would steer clear of altogether. In the BBC hit comedy Gavin and Stacey, Pam, Mick, Gavin and Smithy played a version of it featuring celebrities during a car ride from Essex to Wales. However, the tribunal found it may break workplace laws. The ruling came in the case of a police officer who sued Derbyshire Police after a female colleague involved him in the game — using mugshots of sex workers. The officer candidly admitted to the tribunal that she had 'jokingly' played the game with co-workers and included PC Shafarat Mohammed in their discussion. PC Mohammed claimed that during the discussion in May or June 2022 he was only shown images of black women and was asked what he liked about one of them. He said he was 'embarrassed' and 'offended' by the questioning and felt it was inappropriate. The tribunal judge said: 'We agree that the questions were inappropriate.' However, the tribunal found there was no racial or religious element to it as the sex workers were of varying ethnicities. PC Mohammed lost his case for racial and religious discrimination and harassment. Two top cops accused of mocking a colleague's Irish accent in 'grossly offensive' leaving video
