Cristiano Ronaldo extends contract with Al Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed a new two-year contract with Al Nassr which will run until 2027.
A short video posted on the club's social media accounts to announce Ronaldo's deal shows the forward walking on the beach and finishes with him saying: 'Al Nassr forever.'
Ronaldo's previous deal with the Saudi Pro League (SPL) club was set to expire on June 30 but The Athletic reported in May that negotiations had taken place over a new contract for the 40-year-old.

The Portugal captain, who won his third trophy with his country in early June when he helped them to the Nations League title, has said he was courted by clubs competing at this summer's Club World Cup, while Al Nassr's sporting director Fernando Hierro claimed they could face competition to keep hold of the superstar this summer.

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in December 2022 after having had his contract terminated at Manchester United, and won the SPL Golden Boot this past season with 25 goals.
The Portugal forward has scored 93 goals in 105 appearances and won the Arab Club Champions Cup with Al Nassr, but the Saudi league title and Asian Championship League have eluded the club since his arrival.
Ronaldo played down speculation about his future in early June, claiming 'practically nothing is going to change' and, when prompted over whether he was staying with Al Nassr, replying: 'Yes.'
Saudi Arabia has invested significantly in football in recent years, most notably in 2022 with Al Nassr one of four domestic clubs that were taken over by the nation's Public Investment Fund (PIF) alongside Al Ahli, Al Hilal and Al Ittihad.
Ronaldo was the first high-profile Europe-based player to move to the Middle East nation following that investment before being joined by a host of others including Karim Benzema, Neymar and N'Golo Kante.
Saudi Arabia will host the 2034 FIFA World Cup after an uncontested bidding process for the tournament.
Ronaldo began his career at Sporting CP before starring at Manchester United, where he scored 118 goals across six seasons, winning three Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2008.
The forward won the first of five Ballon d'Or titles for the best men's player of a calendar year in 2008, before joining Real Madrid in 2009 — where he became the club's all-time record goal scorer with 450 goals in 438 appearances, winning 15 trophies including four Champions League titles.
He went on to score 101 goals across three seasons at Italian club Juventus, winning two Serie A titles, before returning to United in 2021 and joining Al Nassr 16 months later.
Ronaldo is the record goal scorer in international football with 138 goals in 221 caps for Portugal.

Ronaldo declares 'Al Nassr forever' after signing a two-year deal to stay in Saudi Arabia
Associated Press With the words 'Al Nassr forever' Cristiano Ronaldo ended uncertainty about his future and signed a two-year contract extension with the Saudi Arabian club on Thursday. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner's latest deal means he will play on until at least the age of 42 and gives him the chance to add to his record-breaking career. 'A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let's make history together,' Ronaldo said in a social media post along with a picture of him holding up a shirt that said 'Ronaldo 2027.' The contract sees Ronaldo extend his time in Saudi Arabia, having joined Al Nassr at the end of 2022 in one of the most shocking transfers in soccer history after leaving Manchester United. The deal was reportedly worth up to $200 million a year and led to a slew of top players, including Neymar and Karim Benzema, leaving Europe for the oil-rich kingdom. With his contract due to expire, the 40-year-old Ronaldo sparked uncertainty at the end of the Saudi season last month when he said the 'chapter is over." But he ended speculation Thursday, saying 'Al Nassr forever' in the club's announcement. The deal is evidence the former Real Madrid forward wants to achieve more. The move to a less-challenging league has also not hindered his standing with his national team. The five-time Champions League winner has won 28 major trophies with club and country and just helped Portugal win the UEFA Nations League title. He is the all-time leading scorer in the Champions League with 141 goals. The World Cup is the only major honor missing from his resume and he may get one last chance to lift soccer's grandest prize at next year's tournament. Despite helping to raise the profile of Saudi Arabian soccer and scoring 77 goals in 74 league appearances, Ronaldo has found trophies hard to come by at Al Nassr. His one so far was the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023. He is yet to win the Saudi Pro League in three attempts. Still, his latest deal was hailed by the club, which posted a video of him walking on a beach with the caption 'The Story continues..' along with emojis of a goat and a gold heart. Ronaldo is considered by many to be soccer's greatest of all time, a term often abbreviated as 'GOAT.' He and Lionel Messi have had a years-long rivalry as the two finest players of their generation, with the duel reaching its peak when they played for Madrid and Barcelona, respectively. The intensity of the rivalry has diminished in recent years as both players have entered the latter stages of their careers and are playing in less heralded leagues, with Messi joining MLS team Inter Miami in 2023. ___ James Robson is at ___ AP soccer: recommended

Cristiano Ronaldo ends speculation by penning new Al Nassr deal
Cristiano Ronaldo ends speculation by penning new Al Nassr deal Cristiano Ronaldo has put pen-to-paper on a new contract with Al Nassr. Reports earlier this month claimed that the Portugal international could leave the Saudi Arabian side after he tweeted out an image of himself with the caption "This chapter is over. The story? Still being written". That post plus comments from FIFA chief Gianni Infantino that Ronaldo could play at the Club World Cup prompted a flurry of rumours. Al-Nassr recently fired coach Stefano Pioli with Jorge Jesus being linked as his replacement.
